Is DHS worth it with a toddler?

Going for a long weekend next month - we have one pool day along with 2 park days. MK obviously but I had planned to do DHS as a second park day since my 3 year old daughter loves Frozen. I think she will also enjoy the Disney Junior and Beauty & The Beast shows.

(We went to MK when she was 2 years old and had no problem getting to do all we wanted to do in just one day at MK so I don't feel its necessary to spend another day there)

With all the complaints about the closures, do you think its a waste of a ticket now?

The Frozen sing along was a favorite for my Granddaughter. But she also enjoyed Disney Junior, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Muppets, and even Toy Story Midway Mania.

If she likes Frozen and Disney Jr I think there will be enough at DHS to make it worth the ticket. I think Olaf is meeting guests now, which would be new and fun! Have a great trip!

With a 3 year old, you can still do Frozen Sing Along (which is fab!), Muppets, Disney Junior, B&B show, Mermaid, TSM (with a FP), and any number of other things. Although there are now lots of construction walls, and I believe the HISTK play area is now closed, most attractions for the young set are still available. It's likely not a full-day park, but I frankly never thought it was, even before the closures! If you have a park hopper, I'd recommend hitting DHS on your second day then maybe jumping over to another park for a few hours, or, if not, hit the pool again in the afternoon. Good luck!

The Disney Jr. breakfast at Hollywood and Vine was a big hit with my then four year old last March!

Thanks @kateclicks - breakfast was all sold out but we are doing the fantasmic dinner at Hollywood & Vine so I'm hoping its a hit. My daughter really enjoys the characters and I dont think we will see Minnie + Mickey anywhere else.

I brought my toddler last year and were still planning to go this year but only for a half day. My son loved meeting Jake and the pirates on stage and he even loved toy story mania. I would suggest it :)

My daughter will be 2.5 when we go next month, but when were there back in December (a week shy of her birthday), she had a blast. The meet and greets with the Disney Jr characters is wonderful, she actually LOVED the Star Wars Launch Bay (the CMs loved her too.. she played with them for a good 20 minutes, no joke). The Disney Junior live show is really cute, and of course, you can't go wrong with Frozen. She also loved Toy Story Mania, watching DH and I shoot things - she giggled and kept yelling out the character's names. It's not a full day park, like PP have stated, but I think spending a good portion of your day would be a good idea! :)

My 4 year old (just turned 4 in December) loved it, but he loves Star Wars. The best non-Star Wars experiences we had were H&V breakfast, Muppetvision, Toy Story and Disney Junior Live on stage. He also liked the little mermaid (DD 10 months loved it the most).

We made a 3/4 day of it last November with a H&V character lunch and dinner but it was definitely my kids' least favorite park. They would rather do MK or AK.

We did DHS last October with our 5 & 3 year old - they loved it. If she likes Disney Jr., she can do that show plus meet Jake/Sofia/Doc or do that meal (we did). Plus TSMM, possible Olaf meet (not open yet), several other shows as posted by others, etc. Well worth it for a toddler.

Totally. Especially as it is right now.

I took a 3 year old.
Disney Junior was very exciting for him and fascinated him more than any other show we've seen.
Toy Story Midway Mania was exciting for him .. but wasn't as cool as Buzz to him. (Buzz we could ride three times in one day and the "real" aspect of it was more fun for him than the video screens. But he still had a blast.
Frozen show - every toddler can sing along to that show.
Little Mermaid - another great show for kids
Muppets - just funny for kids of all ages.
He enjoyed the Frozen parade (despite being near nap time, it was a short enough parade to keep his attention)
He enjoyed nap time in "cool zone" in what used to be Jack Sparrow.
He simply enjoyed WATCHING the Jedi training and making a lightsaber at Tatooine Traders.
I thought he would enjoy the Disney Junior Character meal .. nope . .he was definitely afraid of those life sized characters with giant heads. He was much more comfortable with their puppet size in the Disney Junior Show.

He would love the Star Wars parade and Launch Bay .. but that wasn't open when we went in I want to go back now as he is more of a Star Wars fan now then he was 8 months ago.

I wanted to take him to other shows, like Indiana Jones (or the now extinct LMA), but we simply ran out of time.

It's sad the Honey I Shrunk the Playground is gone .. he could have spent an hour or more there!

So yes .. even though DHS has a few thrill rides .. it is perfect for Toddlers .. I would take a toddler to DHS over Epcot ANY day. Epcot is just boring for toddlers .. even after the Frozen ride there isn't much there for them.

Yep, lots to do at DHS for toddler/preschoolers. DS was 3 when we went to Disney last year and he loved meeting Jake, seeing Disney Jr live, the muppets in 3D, and TSMM. Last month he was 4 and DD was 6 and they both really enjoyed DHS- it's where we met the most characters- Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, Sofia, Jack, Doc, Chip, and Dale.

If only 2 days in the park, I'd consider 2 MK days, but if you want a different park day, DHS to us is by far the best 2nd park for young children, considering all of the post above.
