Is Chef Mickey's worth higher airfare?

No I would not pay an extra 50 to go there. That being said, we do go here evey year for breakfast because it is my ds 9 favorite charactor meal. To me it is just ok. I would change my plans while i am there and go a different day.

My family likes Chef Mickey's but I would say no it is not worth the extra money to do.

Probably the worst dinner experience we have had at Disney (in fact maybe worst anywhere!) Too scared to try it for breakfast.

Add me to the list of no's. Chef Mickey's was too chaotic and not very good IMO. Seeing the characters was nice but it is the least relaxing character dinner we've been to yet. The first thing we were told by our waiter upon arrival was to hurry to and from buffets as to not miss a character because they will not come back. Husband and I would take turns filling our plates and the kids and still be rushed because we ourselves didn't want to miss anyone.

We like Chef Mickey's, but we wouldn't pay an extra $50 for it.

Maybe put that on the list for "next time."

Besides, don't you want some looseness in your schedule on your first day? We always just plan on using counter service restaurants on the first day, since everything is so structured up until we get to WDW (wake up to the alarm clock, get to the airport, go through security, be ready for boarding on time, etc. etc.).

It's nice to not have structure all the time! :)

I look at it this way, are you going at a busy time of year? This may make your decision. If you are going at a busy time of year and don't want to stand in line to see the characters, then yes well worth the $50.00. I have seen lines in Mickey's Toontown waiting an hour or more just to see a few characters. In my opinion I would rather spend my time riding the rides and seeing the shows. For your four year old, characters are going to be a must.

I always schedule around 4 or 5 character meals, different characters generally, so my kids can see the characters, eat, and enjoy the atmosphere. I personally don't want to stand in line for an hour or more to see their favorite characters. If you have ever been to Disney in Toontown they usually have 2 or 3 lines to see the characters. One line might have Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. After you see them you have to start at the back of the line to see the princesses, which will usually have 3 or so.

So you could spend several hours just trying to see the characters. But, it is indoors and air conditioned.

In regards to the quality of food, compared to the other Disney buffet character meals, I did not care too much for the dinner food, but loved the breakfast!

If I were you, I would schedule a breakfast in Epcot at Akershus, if you haven't already done so, to see the princesses!

Have a great time!
