MY DD is named Bella.
Her formal name is Isabella Noelle.
DH and I have our boy's name picked out (Joseph) and had a girl's name (Gianna) but the girl's name we choose was for the daughter we will be adopting. Since that is temporarily on hold, I haven't decided yet if we will use that name or save that... I really need to think about it. The other name we like but that has become way too popular is Isabella, although we would call her Bella, which got me to thinking. We LOVE Bella even more but haven't heard it as a formal name. Do you think we could pull it off?
ETA: Bella actually flows better with our last name.
No WAY! My good friend's daughter's name is exactly that too. Isabella Noelle! Was your DD born in december? That's why my friend gave her Noelle as a middle name.

Thanks everyone. I was truly expecting a lot of negative comments.
It's a go!!!! If it's a girl, her name will be Bella Christina (after my sister). My husband is 100% Italian and I'm 1/2 Italian so we know the meaning well. Our last name is very Italian so we definitely need something a bit "ethnic" to flow well. Bella and Gianna both go well but Gianna holds a special place in my heart for when we adopt. I would not feel right using it now because it is meant for her... if that makes sense.
.I was going to go with Bella also, but went with Briana, somehow everyone calls her Bella anyway
..Great Italian namesMakes perfect sense to me! We have two names reserved for children who may be born biologically to us. Our daughter in China has a name that means something to us and the name belongs to no one else. I completely understand what you are saying...** UPDATE **
