Is B&H not taking orders while they are on vacation???

My wife just told me that if I wanted to I could order the Pentax 50mm 1.4 for my birthday. I want to get it before we leave for DW on May 1st. I tried to order it online but there is no "check out" tab in my basket. I then called them and they stated that they were on vacation until Monday April 28th. Does anyone know if they do not take orders while they are on vacation.

Well I think I found my own answer. I clicked on Live Help on their site and they stated that they are closed for passover. Their holiday schedule said the same thing. I will just have to order it first thing on the 28th and pay for the overnight delivery....it will be worth it.

I must be attracted to this camera store during holidays because I ordered my D80 right after Rosh Hashana last year. I was confused as to the "site is closed until XXX" message, but since they had the cheapest price, I stuck with them. Paid for expedited shippping just because I wanted it NOW.

I'm going to order a new lens from them tonight for my upcoming trip. Can't wait!!

I hear ya...I have had nothing but excellent customer service from them so I will pay for the overnight too. Just with I would have "gotten permission" to buy the lens before they left for holiday.

You can order now but orders won't ship until the 28th. They were not taking orders through yesterday and will stop again on Friday (as they usually do for their sabbath).

Same here! I ended up buying mine today at a local camera store. It was $10 more, but that covers the shipping.
