Check out a the Passporter Guide to Walt Disney World. It is wonderful, and it has pockets in the back for all your planning needs, as well as areas throughout the book where you can write down ressies or other notes.

I also enjoyed Complete Walt Disney World. It is different from all the other guide books and gives more info about the parks than anything else.

That is not the reason I get it. The one I have I got in Nov 2007 for 2008 and is good until the new one comes out in Nov 2008 for 2009. I will make several trips thru the year, but I do only write trip info in it for my Dec 2008 trip. I know almost all of the info in the book anyway, it just helps me get organized for a stree free trip and everything is all in one place.

It is still nice to have a guide to refer to when you can't get on to Dis.

I do like that the book has pockets. I use to read it on the plane ride down. :)

Add us to the list, Just booked the Dolphin for Dec14- Dec21, It will be our 32 anniversary:hug:

We'll be going Dec 6-13 ... and it looks like we'll be at AKL, too. :)

Tried to get into WL that week - but the standard rooms are apparently all booked ALREADY (at least those with the AAA rate ...) Doesn't matter - we ate at Boma last May and DW fell in love with AKL ... :cloud9:

DD will be turning 5 a month (to the day) beforehand - so this trip will be a birthday surprise for her ... :princess:

Make sure you get a "Birthday" button for your DD ... Is a month later too long to get our DD a button? - even if the trip is a sort of birthday present?

[Of course not ... :)]

I'm thinking of using the AKL "kids club" one night for a relaxing dinner someplace ...

We are...never miss a December. I hope it isn't as warm as 2007!

Ugh! I know, it was sooo humid...my hair...lets not even talk about that!! lol
I would have liked it a bit cooler and not so humid!

We'll be there 12/7-12/18. This will be our first stay at the Poly and we are so excited. I too am on these boards constantly looking for any info I can use.

Hope we see some dissers there...wearing our lime green Mickeys.

If I can get a good discouont like the 40% one that it floating around then I'm going to plan a Dec. long weekend. Probably two or three weeks after Thanksgiving weekend. :cool1:

Hi Laura -

Since you're a WDW December veteran - any suggestions for those those of us going in Decemeber for the first time?

:thanks:

P.S. Lime green Mickeys??? At least it will be easy to spot you ... :lmao:

We will be there in December as usual.......not sure of dates yet.
My girlfriend & her family will be at the Poly 12/5 - 12/12

It's the best time of the year there. There is so much to do that it's hard to fit it all in. Some of my favorites are:

MVMCP - hot chocolate and snow on main street, Mickey's Night Before Christmas Show in Tomorrowland and another show at the castle, characters all over and if you go on a Tuesday, the crowds are quite low. A hard ticketed event.

Candlelight Processional - in front of the American pavilion in the World Showcase. A celebrity reading the Christmas story backed by a full orchestra and a massed choir singing carols. Amazing, but be sure to buy the CP package which includes a full dinner at one of the countries and reserved seating for the show. The show itself is free, but those without reserved seating might have to stand in line for a long time, and might not get in.

Osborne Light - at the studios. Millions of moving lights set to music and snowflakes drifting down. Magical.

Christmas wishes and the Christmas parade at the Magic Kingdom - not to be missed.

Decorations at the parks and at all the resorts - If you get a chance, ride the monorail to the monorail resorts just to check them out - for example, a full sized gingerbread house in the GF lobby with cast members inside selling gingerbread - a small group upstairs playing carols :santa:

Wow, I do go on, don't I, but:

Do decorate your room, try the hot chocolate at the resorts (it's to die for),
see the parade at AK, and much, much more....

OH, and have the time of your life............Laura
