Is anyone else here eating late today?

Is eating late a regional thing? I'm from the Deep South and I don't know of anybody who eats Thanksgiving dinner at 5pm or later. My mother always had the meal done around 3(if we were lucky!) Mine is always on the table between 1:30 & 2pm. I like to eat in the early afternoon so we can go back at 6pm and have Second Thanksgiving!

I'm from Ohio and we never ate until 5 or 6.

We're eating late today....but it's just the 4 of us and it's not a big production. Just tossed a ham in the oven about 20 minutes ago, I'm going to make some mashed potatoes and that's it!

We prefer to have T-day dinner at 2 or 3, but DS doesn't get off work till 4:30 so we're postponing till 5:30.

I have cooked , packed up the food, traveled to inlaws, ate, cleaned up, had dessert, packed up again and drove back home. I am now thinking about having a piece of apple pie with my cup of tea.

If we aren't sitting down and eating by 2 at fil's house then he gets upset. I had dinner on the table by 1:50. By 4 we were on our way home.

We're not eating til midnight!!!

Pretty much all of our friends work at Disney and you are more than likely going to be working Thanksgiving. So a friend does a Midnight Thanksgiving every year, so everyone can make it! Everyone brings a dish or a bottle of wine, and we play games until the early hours...then we get up and go shopping for Black Friday!

Growing up, we always ate around 2-ish. So I felt pressure for the last twelve years to make sure I was up at the crack of dawn to have everything done by 2 or so. This year we had no guests and didn't travel anywhere, so I gave myself a treat and slept in. I started cooking when I felt like it, really enjoyed myself in the kitchen without all the self-imposed pressure of the past, and had a big dinner on the table at 5:30. My husband and I both feel like this was the best Thanksgiving we've ever had. It was so relaxing and nice!
