Is anyone else a little tired of Vera Bradley?

i have a few, although my DD is the one who carries them right now. i like them because they have a gazillion pockets. and, when it comes to purses, i love me some pockets. :lmao: and the Hipster style is PERFECT for WDW trips.

but i'm not sick of them. i see Coach logo bags more than i see VB. and i have two Coach logo bags (full disclosure). right now, i carry a bright green, leather Brahmin bag. yes, it is still expensive, but was much less expensive than a leather Coach or DB.

I love Brahmin bags. I don't have one. I've been tempted to go to one of their tent sales but its a bit of a drive and I don't know if I'd find it too crowded to shop.

Both Coach and VB are extremely over saturated here. I love Louis Vuitton ad own 2 that I take such good care of and they are amazing bags....I never tire of them and consider them investment bags rather than multiple bags in different colors, etc.

Well now that they have the outlets and have flooded the market with everything but thongs....this over saturation gives it less exclusivity and they are less desirable. It was the same thing with Yankee Candle once they became discounted and common place they lost popularity.

Do you mean the undergarment or the shoe? Because the shoe exists. I saw it just last week.

I did just buy a Vera Wallet. I needed something smaller and they make exactly what I needed. The valet key chain I bought last year lost the ball in a matter of 3 weeks. I went back to keeping my keys on a boring caliber clip. As for Coach, it's so over saturated that I refuse to buy one. I would much rather buy a Kate Spade or a Franco Sarto that is not covered in logos.

Never was a fan, just not my style. Everytime I see them, it makes me think of a diaper bag and I am SOOOOOO over that time in my life:rotfl:

Didn't get any farther in the thread than this post. Sums it up quite nicely for me as well. :thumbsup2

I love Vera Bradley bags, but the prices are daunting. I've learned over the years to not pay retail. What I like about Vera is the organization. My favorite bag is called the On The Go. It has exactly the right amount of pockets for all my stuff. I dont lose things anymore and my purse is always neat. I have a handful of patterns that I love and I tend to buy coordinating pieces. I always like seeing other Vera lovers out and about. I've never met one I didn't like. It's like we all belong to a really colorful and organized club.

Love this!:thumbsup2

And no, I'm not tired of Vera Bradley at all!

My MIL is a huge Vera Bradley fan and she loves to buy bags for me. I don't horribly dislike them or anything. In fact, I use the last one she used me as a diaper bag daily. Personally, I am more of a Burberry girl. I also wouldn't mind owning a Louis Vitton bag. However, I have a hard time justifying spending that much on a bag. If my MIL wants to buy me a Vera Bradly bag, I'm not going to stop her. I just have a hard time carrying them more often because they don't always match what I am wearing.

Used to like Burberry and LV and have a few of each but so many knock offs spoiled that for me. Can't tell the difference so I would pay $$$$ why? It cheapened the 'real deal'

My DD has a lovely Burberry and you wouldn't know it was Burberry unless you looked to the lining inside. There is also the small horse medallion on the outside but very small and just a beautiful leather bag overall..now that I like.
:thumbsup2

As an added note, I bought my daughter a beautiful pewter leather B Makowsky bag from QVC for Christmas last year.

I couldn't believe how soft the leather was, and the bag was fairly lightweight. I would definitely buy one of this brand of bags over another D&B, due to the difference in weight.

Then again, should I have the good fortune and finances to buy a Disney D&B bag, I might have to make an exception!;)

My sil gave my mother a VB duffel bag back in the early 80's and she still uses it when traveling.

I do like them even though I have never purchased one for myself.

Got a large duffel and an eye glass case for Christmas from my niece which are very pretty.

I think the older set likes them because they are so lightweight. I can't imagine an older person trying to use some of the handbags they sell today. Some of them start out weighing over 5 lbs empty!

I'm definitely tired of them. My MIL used to work at a gift shop that sold them, and she bought me TONS of them. They are nice, but just not overly much my style.

Now, I will admit to being a Disney Dooney girl! I LOVE them, and would buy every single one of them if I could afford it! That is a bag addiction I can get behind!

I see B Makowsky bags at tjmaxx all the time. They are very soft leather. I don't own one but , the prices at tj maxx make them tempting.

I am sooooo not a name brand bag lady. Have never bought a label name purse or even looked at them. And probably never will. Not a girlie girl at all.

I buy function.

Same with me. I don't care who makes a bag as long as I like it and it holds what I need it to hold. I would never spend hundreds of dollars on a bag. So much more I could do with my money.

For me its not about buying a certain brand. I buy what I like. There are certain brands I'm drawn to though. When I'm out shopping for bags, I go to what I like. It just so happens that the bags I'm picking up and looking at are certain brands. Its the style and quality that make me pick them up to look at, not the name.

As far as so much more you can do with the money, its a personal thing. I can look at other things people spend money on and say " what a waste" but that's what that person likes/wants.

Vera Bradley is the Ebates daily double today. I thought of this thread immediately when I received the email this morning.

Can't stand Vera Bradley! To me they look cheap.... like something your grandmother quilted for you.

I'd probably use one as a diaper bag, but even that would be pushing it, lol.

I love the classic, clean look of Coach leather bags... but even that is getting way too saturated around here.

I need to move onto another bag designer, sigh.

I have a Vera laptop case because it was hard to find something lightweight but protective for my large laptop, and a couple of the mini hipsters because they're tiny, lightweight, and cute. Her larger purses aren't for me, but I don't care either way what someone else wears or likes.

I usually carry Brahmin purses because I like them, and they're good quality and not too heavy for their size. Sunshinehighway, I got all three at their tent sale. It wasn't overly crowded.

i'm very jealous you can go to a tent sale.

i have the Mini Arno Tote, which isn't as small as it sounds. but i love it. i needed to down-size because i always carry HUGE bags. carrying a large purse and a diaper bag was just too much of a pain. the Mini was a nice size without being too tiny.
