Glad you made your final payment!! Are you taking Disney's transfers from AC Diplomatic? We are. Since we are also at the AC, maybe we can meet up at the hotel prior to the cruise. Will you be there the Friday before the cruise?

I think we fly in about lunchtime on Friday. We hope to be in good enough shape to wander along Las Ramblas that afternoon. We are using the Disney hotel/port transfers too so if not before, we will see you in the lobby for pick up. It is all getting very exciting!

We have paid too - hooray! On the topic of money, I FINALLY received my cheque from the Sept 3 cruise change fees that I had to pay at the beginning of Feb(5k). I am pleased about this but the cheque is in US$ which are worth less than the aussie dollar right now (my flight change costs were clearly stated in AUD) and the bank will take 6 weeks to clear the amount since it is a foreign business cheque - not a bank cheque or a money order. Come on Disney - how about an electronic transfer in the first place.

My travel agent is speaking to Disney so hopefully they will to something about the issue. Fingers crossed!

By the way thanks Hadley for the Eze information. It was a huge help.

We had the same, cheque in dollars even though paid in pounds. we had to pay a ten pound fee to change it, and then we are short

How terribly frustrating for you both. Hopefully it was just a boneheaded mistake by one idiot cutting the checks which can be easily rectified.

If you don't want to pay so much for transfers, I am sure you can get to the beach on your own for less and not have to miss the island entirely

I know it is supposed to be about a 30 minute pleasant walk into the old town from the ship, taxis are generally metered and reasonable ($10 into town for up to four people from what I have read), and there is supposed to be a shuttle bus into town from the port as well (I don't know the price of that).

I am looking for a cruise "checklist" that would include the not so obvious things, such as money for the bathrooms, toilet paper/ wipes, etc. Where is Hadley? Maybe she has something already composed?

Almost home from spring break on the Dream, the ship is beautiful and we loved the aqua duck , but it was too big for us, and really looking forward to getting back on the Magic.

Add us to FE list!As I understand it is small gifts that put in these hangers/organizers per cabin on doors after reading info,so count me in?????ps how can you hang these on doors if no adhensive works????and rubber only works on glass??????Do you need to put gifts everyday of cruise or only one day??????Di Brit/Greek

You can bring your own hairdryer - the electric outlet will be American plug and voltage. The one in the bathroom is not strong. You will have to use your own hairdryer in the bedroom, as there are no outlets for use in the bathroom (other than for shaver).

Ice cream most of the day (and until late night), soft self-serve chocolate, vanilla & swirl. They also have Hershey's chocolate syrup. You can make your own ice cream soda or milk shake by adding ingredients from the free drink station (milk, Half & Half, soda water). Based on recent Navigators from the Mexican Riviera cruises, ice cream should be available from 11am - 11pm.

The fish extender (FE) hangs from a metal fish beside your cabin door; this is how ours look. I loop the ribbon around the fish to make it more secure; others use a zip-tie (like the plastic ties soldiers/police use as temporary handcuffs).

Most FE groups use the one gift per cabin scenario. Don't remember what this one is doing.

I am not much help with this I HATE carrying stuff around with me and often do not even have a purse on shore. I throw a packet of facial tissues in my pocket (they work in a bind for toilet paper and travel more easily) and add in a few 50 cent pieces (to pay for the toilet) and am good to go. If I plan to shop I will carry a bag (little collapsible ones are best) as many times bags will not be available to you at stores/markets.

I will say that our German friends (EU citizens) were told they need to bring thier passports for the cruise as the cruiseline requires it--sea vacations being different than land ones and DCL wanting to keep their options open in the event that mechanical or weather difficulties necessitate a change of port to a non EU country. Here is a link to a discussion about EU citizens needing passports for EU cruises on cruisecritic (seems the answer varies and may be more a factor of cruiseline policy than anything else).. At the very least, I suggest that you call Disney Cruise Line directly and confirm and if they say he will not need a passport then get that in writing from them.

Take what I say with a grain of salt, DCL had computer issues and were not able to print keys so we did not get on the ship till 3:30 and everyone was frantic about getting on board so that made the first day a zoo, lines for everything and probably skewed my outlook.

We had a forward room and always wanted to be somewhere aft so it was a long walk and the hallways always seemed to be crowded.

My kids will not wait in lines or go in crowded pools so we figured out when to do things but there was a much smaller window then we found on other cruises.

I think a lot had to do with 4 days is just too short.

Your comments seem to be echoed by many. I am having a hard time figuring out what type of cruise to book while on board the Magic so that I can get the discounts. No more 3 day cruises. Only the Dream is doing 4 days. I have no interest in Nassau (been there, did that). So it looks like a 7 night Eastern/Western is the only alternative. Again, only the Dream doing this, or the Fantasy. Which I fear will have the same issues. Now there is rumor the Magic may sail out of NYC. I would enjoy this IF it goes to Bermuda.
