Is anyone cruising with me on the August 27th 2011 Meditteranean Cruise? Hellooooo?

Bad news guys! My mom has come down with a long term illness. So, she won't be ablet to watch the kids. We are having to cancel this trip now. Hope you guys have a great time! :sad1:

Hi tracyz, tatey99, imaswede78 :wave2:
Glad you all could join us (hopefully you too tracyz - keep us posted)

TJFrack - I am trying to plan excursions too - not through Disney as the prices are very high. Lots of time on Trip advisor reading reviews.

Is anyone maybe interested in spliting a few tours? It would be 1/3 of the cost, looking for maybe 2 or 3 people to join. Looking towards a private van that sits 7, we are 4 adults that would take up 4 of those seats. It's still early, didn't know if anyone would consider this? I would have to consult my inlaws to see if they want to share a tour or not... so it's still up in the air, wanted to get a feel of if anyone is interested?

mkmommy - I am currently working on a website, it took me a bit longer than expected to find a host that is compatable with vista, I kept getting errors  pm me a link if you come across anything worth sharing. I will include it on the website.

Normally I am down with splitting tours and doing non-disney excursions as we did two non-disney ones which were way better than any disney ones according to the people who did disney ones.

I heard though from people who did the med cruise with disney that they wasted a lot of time with transportation bc of worrying about missing the boat.

Also there was a group who would've missed the boat, but a disney tour was late too so they just barely made it. People had advised to stick with disney tours bc you get to see more and no concerns about the boat leaving without you.

Just booked my airfare today.... Think I got a pretty good price. I've been watching the fares, today they seemed to have dropped. So I booked. From BWI to BCN (stopping over in Philedelphia) costs $1095/pp, with all taxes and fees included. $1008 before taxes and fees. The cheaper flights had 2 stops, where this is only one, then direct into BCN. Getting a redeye Thursday night, arriving into BCN on Friday morning. Sure hoping we can check in early at the hotel....:crazy2:

What airline are you on out of Philly? we are on US Airways getting in early friday morning too!

Thursday, August 25, 2011
US Airways # 742

Philadelphia International (PHL) to Barcelona (BCN)
Departure (PHL): August 25, 6:25 PM EDT (evening)
Arrival (BCN): August 26, 8:35 AM CEST (morning)

Yes that is our flight too! We are then staying at the Renasance Airport Hotel (Marriott) that Friday before the cruise. They have a complimentary shuttle frm the airport to the hotel. They also have a pre-cruise package that includes a shuttle to the port.

I would be concerned about this too, but the private tour will end hours before the ship is set to sail, so I am not worried, we should be back in time for dinner :thumbsup2

Well DF just let me know the Navy will probably be re-training him in the next few months and he could be stationed anywhere after that. :sad2:
So we are getting married sooner than we planed. Best case scenario this trip turns into out honeymoon, worse case we have to cancel and lose 300+ DVC points:headache:. Middle ground we cancel but have time to use those points somewhere else (although it will be somewhere less than optimal). Trying really hard not to freak out to bad right now! :scared1:

Bummer! I wish your mom health and a fast recovery despite the long term diagnosis. Good Luck with everything!

Oh wow! Well, i'm hoping for the best case scenario :thumbsup2

Oh no! Sure hope you can make it as your honeymoon! Congrats on the wedding! My son graduates AIT school in Feb. First they told him he could fly home then drive his car to his next assignment, so we bought his airfare home. Just yesterday they sat NO. You are flying right to the base after grad. No going home. Now I have this ticket I hope he can use again within the next 11months or we're out that money. No planning with the military! Good luck!:wizard:

Thank you both! Fortunately we don't have have a wedding planed yet and I just want something really small so that wont be a big deal. And the truth is this is a really good opportunity for him that we have been hoping for, just the timing stinks for a few reasons. It's just scary that we might not know for a few months when his training will start. I hate to lose this vacation and all those points but his career is much more important.

BWV Dreamin-talk to the airline and see if you are able to get a refund or an exchange without a change fee (if they were going to charge you one) if you provide them with a copy of his orders . I have never had to deal with it personally but I have friends who have been able to get airfare refunded due to orders changing.

The airfare is non refundable( Southwest) and starting Jan 1, they changed their policy where the original person booked has to use the cancelled flight credit. Southwest does have military flights you can book thru them but they are more expensive then the website lowest fare. Guess I'll need to do this in the future invade he has to cancel again in the future. Hopefully he can come home before next January!

Let us know how it goes with the cruise!

We just booked this cruise and are soooo excited!!!(Me my MIL, DH and DS3) We want to be a part of everything so please count us in for a FE exchange! We do not have a cabin number yet. Does anyone know when we will know what room we have? We picked a guaranteed Deluxe inside room. Thanks and can't wait to get to know everyone!!:cheer2:

Hi All

During my search for flights UK to BCN, I've found a reasonable flight that departs Barcelona at 11.40am on the Saturday.
Do you think there's enough time to make this flight given the Ashore time is 7am, as not sure on the procedure DCL has for disembarking at the end of the cruise.

Hi Andy! We booked this same flight to Heathrow! I think we will be fine!

Hi Casey

Good to have someone with the same schedule!
Did you book with Iberia? We're on the 6.25am out of Heathrow on 26th and the 11.40am back on the 3rd. Apparently they are BA flights.

Welcome jrs mommy! I've added you to the FE list. :thumbsup2 There are only 3 cabins right now but I'm sure a few more will join us as we get closer to the sail date!

Yes! We booked the 6:25am flight on the 27th tho.. We figured it would be plenty of time to get on the boat. We are on the same flight back at 11:40. These are British Airway flights from what I read. How are you getting from the boat to the airport? Are you taking a DC transfer? I am not sure what will get us there the fastest. We are in a Cat 10C room (GTY) and those are some of the last to disembark I believe..
