Is anyone cruising with me on the August 27th 2011 Meditteranean Cruise? Hellooooo?

Hi,

I am on this cruise now:). I was originally booked for the cruise after it, however, they sold the whole cruise to a private company:sad2:. Luckily we can change our plans to sail a different date (unlike some people). My name is Marika (NHdisneylover's daughter). I am 14 years old. My hobbies are Girl Scouts, reading, and karate. I live Heidelberg, Germany. I am in 9th grade. this is my 9th Disney cruise:sail:. I am sharing a cabin with my 12 year old little brother, Rio. He loves all things theatre. I cannot wait to get to know people. that is why the Dis is so awesome.

Welcome to all the new cruisers!! :woohoo:

TJFrack- I added you to the FE list. How many people are in your cabin?

delauzons- I added you to the list and I put a seperate cabin for your parents (listed as delauzons2) If they don't want to participate just let me know and I'll take them off.

NHDisneylover- I have your two cabins down as NHDisneylover and NHDisneylover2 for the kids.

Our list is starting to grow! :yay:

Thank you for running Fishextenders:thumbsup2:. It can be quite a task and they are part of what makes each cruise so fun. I miss them so much when I do not cruise Disney.

Some of you mentioned that you had teens/kids. Would there be any interest in a kids thread:grouphug: for this cruise? I would not want to start one if nobody wanted it, however, they have been a lot of fun in the past and I have made a lot of friends through them.

First off.... :welcome: I too am curious as to why the Sept 3 cruise was canceled, that was one we considered. I saw your youtube video from the med cruise 2010 and you all are hams! What a fun family you are! It's nice to know that people are returning on the med cruises from last year, that means they are totally worth it!
I do have the website started, but there's a glitch with my computer that won't let me type into the website on my home computer, but I can do it from the computer at the library, it's strange, so it's limited what I can do. But I do have a roll call started that I am maintining, but right now it's in word till I can get it on the website. Want me to email it to you?

Hi Hadley!
My FIL lives in Kaiserslautern which is less than an hour from you! My husband has business quite often in Stuttgart as well. We are planning to visit my FIL in the fall and I can't wait! It will be my first trip to Germany. Are you all fluent in German? There are so many military bases in that area, I am sure it is common to hear people speaking english. What does your husband do?
Welcome Marika! I hope you find some other people here your age! I am sure you will have a great time on the Aug. 27th cruise! I am already thinking of some extra special FE gifts!

There are two of us:

Hope - DW
Marc - DH

Cabin 10C GTY (hoping for an upgrade!)

Hi BWV Dreamin!

What part of Maryland are you from? My DH grew up in Crofton (me right outside Philadelphia) and We were married in Annapolis! We are looking to move to Calvert County next year. (DH works in Wash D.C.) It really is a small world!

Hi Marika! :goodvibes

I have a 14 year old daughter (she'll be 15 by the cruise) who was in Girl Scouts for years, LOVES reading, all things theatre, loves Germany (this is where our family is from) and would be very interested in a kids thread.:thumbsup2 I also have a 16 year old daughter who would love to write to other teens as well. If you start a thread, my girls would be on it with you. I think it wold be wonderful for them to get to know some kids before you get on the cruise.

What a small world! We lived in Crofton for 25 yrs! Just moved away 5 yrs ago to Carroll County-Westminster. Our last home in Crofton was in Chapman Farms. I worked, shopped, etc. in Annapolis! Know that town very very well! Wow, and your on this cruise! Totally awesome...:goodvibes

I can access everything just fine, except the text part, any time I want to type ANYTHING in a text box, it errors out and tells me that the internet has stopped working and restarts itself ??? Maybe cause i'm using internet explorer... let me try with firefox :scratchin

Ok, delete all temp Internet files, cookies. Also run some anti spyware freeware like Maleware Bytes. As always, restart your machine after all if this.( Hope this works!)

You are gonna laugh because we were practically neighbors! My husband and I lived in one of those town homes on the Walden golf course before moving to England in 2009! Smoketree Lane off of Walden. Not sure if it was considered Chapman farms, although you had to turn onto Pearl Ave in order to get into the community. My MIL, who is on the cruise with us, still lives in a town home near the Crofton library. She is the original owner and has lived in Crofton forever. Crazy!

Well we will all have to meet for a drink and talk about living in Crofton!:rotfl: I may even know your MIL.!

Thanks for your suggestion, but I didn't see it till I logged back on to say that all it took was Fire Fox. Doh! I feel dumb.
I will try your suggestion with Internet Explorer though cause that's where all my favs are.

We have moved to this cruise from the September 3 debacle. We are a family of 5 from Australia - myself, my Husband and three boys (7,10 and 11). This will be our first cruise and is part of a round the world trip, starting with the cruise.

:lmao:I like your sense of humor--Now i think I may need to make up "Sept. #rd Refugee" shirts for our group to wear:rotfl:

Wow--Walt was right, it is a small world after all.:goodvibes I know right where Kaiserslautern is. Is your father in law millitary? Marika is part of a girl scout troop which is mostly girls with millitary ties so we get base access (but no shopping privelages) due to that (I co-lead) and have been up that way to carol at Lanstuhl, roller skate at Vogelvey, and eat at the Chili's on Ramstein.
We go through Stuttgart pretty often too--especially in the summer if we are heading to Legoland--that is about the half way point;)
Are you visiting Germany right after the cruise, or later in the fall? It is a nice time of year to visit. If you want to see Heidelberg (very worth it) or Speyer or Schwetizingen or anything else up my way let me know and I would be more than happy to meet up with you and take you around, or just meet for a pastry at a cafe IF you want.

I would bet $100 that Marika will have a kids/teens thread up before she goes to bed tonight. It is nice to hear there will be other girls like her onboard. She will still be 14 on the cruise (her birthday is the day after Christmas), but she tend to get along well with slightly older kids. She is in 9th grade at a school where they tend to start school older (more German and also Waldorf) so the next youngest kid in her class is still a full year older than she is and some are almost 3 years older.

WOW! A bunch of new people joining us! :cool1:
So happy those of you from the Sep 3rd cruise are able to join us.
I am so disappointed in Disney over that.

I have my own good news though. DF wont be re-training until November! :worship:
Our trip is a go! We are going to get married in August just before we leave for Europe. That way if he gets orders overseas I'll be on them. I was also worried I would be told I cant take the time off but if it's for my wedding/honeymoon they wont say anything! So now I have 6 months to plan a wedding in a state I don't live in. :rotfl:

That is so sweet of you to offer to take us around! We are not definite on a date yet but hopefully sometime soon. My father in law will be over this way for business in a few months, so we will probably finalize the plans then. He is not military, He is a retired Govt. worker and a Forensic Scientist. He is traveling most of the year. His wife is Dutch. I know that while he was a contractor he was stationed in Germany, but I think he likes it too much and decided to stay. His children are citizens and go to a German school. :)
