Is a Premium Version of Disney’s Lightning Lane on the Way?

We used the skip the line pass at Universal and it was pretty awesome. I believe only Hagrid's was ineligible but I can't remember.

We also used a front of line pass for basically everything at Silver Dollar City a few years ago as we were taking our son to camp and really only had about half a day at the park. Again, great.

If Disney opened something like that up I'd definitely consider it but only for certain trips and at certain times of year.

In truth, I liked Genie+

My max price would be $150 a day.

That’s the limit on what I’d pay to be able to bop in any lightening lane, even if there was no ability to repeat rides.

Yes, I wouldn't mind something like this, as long as it existed along side the Multipass

I was just thinking earlier that price is kind of my upper limit for the After Hours events too.

Is there anything special that your princess friends would like? We are traveling on the Magic this March (transitioning) and next April (PC) and can bring treats, magazine's or other little presents.

That’s the way I thought about it too. Has similar value as we would find with AH or party, and my upper limit there is $150 as well.

$200 is hard to swallow. So far I’ve resisted MVMCP for that reason. It’s fun - just not that much fun, especially when the last one we attended was bonkers crowded. We did MK AH in Feb around $150 and that was tolerable lol. That’s about the limit of cost I’d add on per person per day on top of all the other high expenses. $200 they could keep it for the bigger spenders than me

I would love Express Pass at WDW. I wouldn’t use it all the time but for some trips when I take someone new, it would be great to not have to work around “ride times” and just do an easy ride and see the parks visit like I can do at Universal when we stay at their Premiere resorts.

And include it for deluxe resort guests :)

Or would that result in way too many people having it?

The current LL systems fail the KISS test. This could resolve that and allow people to enjoy their visits without being constantly tethered to their mobile phone.

Attaching it as a benefit to resort bookings might help them fight Epic in 2025.

What’s the KISS test? My Google search didn’t help.

KISS = keep it simple, stupid

I guess we're here again, with people on the DIS advocating for something even more expensive than what currently exists. This started a few years ago with DISers talking about a paid FP system even though FP+ was free and it worked . . . and it was free.

We're having a few nights at Universal in December, and that will be my first time experiencing their Express Pass. But here's the thing: it's included along with the hotel where we're staying--RPR--which costs a heckuva lot less per night than a Disney Deluxe resort.

I travel with someone who can't stand in a long line, so we have always gotten whatever skip-the-line scheme there's been: FP+, G+, and now LLMP.

The cost of the new services has caused us to downgrade our former Deluxe resort choice and stay Mod instead, Which is fine, as we really like POFQ. But WDW isn't really getting any more money from us than they did before, since we're not paying Deluxe resort prices.

We just recently purchased LLs for our upcoming trip. I booked 3 of the days of the trip and spent $181 in total, which is approximately $60 per day extra for two people, or $30 extra per day per person.

There's a HUGE difference between spending an additional $30 a day and spending an additional $150 a day.

So, Disney execs, if you're reading this or using this forum as a way to test out yet another moneymaking idea you've got, please note that this extra expense would be too much for anyone staying at WDW for a week and planning on coming back. Ever.

Disney's already alienated enough visitors and potential visitors by getting rid of Magical Express, a service whose demise people still lament, a service that created tremendous goodwill for WDW, and a service whose cost could easily have been hidden in slightly increased resort room rates.

Stop it already.

Right, I would only want it if it could work along side LLMP.
But there are nuances to this that I don't understand. At some point you would have too many people doing it and defeat the purpose.\

I think far too many people for that to work, WDW has way more Deluxe/DVC resorts with more room capacity than UO's three resorts.

UO also often charges more than $150 per day from my observations, it can go from $90 to almost $300 for the one-ride option, depending on the day (I've only seen it higher when in the parks - maybe it's cheaper if you buy way in advance).

No doubt WDW would charge even more.

Disney could always limit the number of whatever kind of passes they're selling. It has nothing to do with the price. They could sell LLMPs for 25 cents each and still limit the number they'd sell.

It's not really a supply-and-demand kind of thing. In this case, that idea is artificial. Disney could easily control the supply and there would never be too many people doing it.

Disney is really complex compared to universal so I can see why Disney would consider this, especially with epic opening. I don’t see how they can offer it with deluxe stays because they have so many more hotels, esp with DVC falling into that category. It would be nice to see it included with club level stays. Im curious what the price point would be, while people complain about Disney pricing I see this being popular and priced accordingly, the wording about it being a step below a VIP tour makes me think it will be spendy.
