Right now I have 2 reservations for MYW +Dining package going...one thru AAA and one thru WDW directly. I changed my reservation with AAA two times so far. The last time I changed the TA told me she wouldn't be able to do what I wanted (I had to cancel a person and she happened to put the reservation in that person's name). She said the entire reservation would have to be re-booked as per Disney's policy, but because my hotel is booked for my dates that I would have to choose another hotel. I told her not to worry because I had another reservation thru WDW myself and they were able to cancel the person without a problem, so I would just go thru them. She then told me that she would make some calls to see what she could do. She called back saying she got it. I asked her for a confirmation and she sent me an e-mail she wrote herself. I am all for saving some extra $$ but is the $236 I am saving going thru AAA worth it? Should I cancel that reservation and go with WDW? I have a paper in front of me from WDW with all of my room requests on it -- that is more than AAA showed me so far. What would you do? :confused3 I need to figure this out fast because we are only 5 days away from final payment!!! :hourglass

Can you book AAA yourself? If so, and this person seems to be hassling you I 'd say see if you could apply the AAA discount to the WDW reservation that you already have. If not, I'd check with a Disney specialist like Dreams Unlimited (I use Sue Ellen) and let them book the AAA part to your existing reservation. I have converted reservations taht I booked myself over to Dreams with no problem at all and they have always taken good care of me.

Hi,

When I've booked using a AAA discount, I call WDW myself and have the AAA code just applied to my reservation. You don't need AAA to make the reservation, I find them to be a hassle myself. I like to deal directly with Disney. (it's just more fun!! :earsboy: )

I would call WDW back, and ask them if the AAA discount could be applied to your existing reservation.

I can't get the AAA rate because I have a package. Only the AAA TA can book that. DU can't, can they?

Don't know about the package, is it great enough to have to deal with the hassles?

You should have more from AAA for confirmation. If you post a thread asking for AAA TA recommendations, you're sure to find someone who recommends a TA they liked.

I hope this helps!

Ethansmom - can you actually request a TA from AAA? This TA contacted me because I made a quote request on their site and she is from the local office. I attempted to make another request after I read on the Dis that there was a new discount, and the same TA called me again asking if I had a problem with what she had done for me the first time. :sad2:

I have
I work at AAA, but not in travel
and I've had 3 diff travel agents.
