I've been told by someone not to bring my ipod on the plane, because going through security will ruin it. I have a hard time believing this......has anyone else had any problems with it?

Hi,

It's no problem at all to bring an IPod through airport security.

I always bring my IPod to use on the plane and it is still functioning properly. I have taken several trips during the last few months and gone through security many times with no probems.

:rotfl: That's the funniest thing I've heard here in a long time. As millions of traveling iPod owners will tell you there isn't any problem with this.

No problems here either!

They are designed to travel and one of the primary reasons people purchase them. I have two which are about 6 months old and each has already flown over 100,000 miles. I have NEVER removed one from my laptop case anywhere in the world, and they have travelled to several continents and many countries.

The myths about travel do continue to amaze me - somehow the rules which are common around the world have become so twisted and distorted and I have no idea why.

Nothing personally directed at the OP, but the myths we see floating around this board daily really do make me wonder if people are not reading information, jumping to conclusions based on a misheard snip of news, or if they actually enjoy misleading others.

OP, be reassured that you will have NO issues. You may want to let the person who told you this tale know that as well. :)

My silly son said someone at his school said the same thing...:lmao: and he has used his on several plane rides! I'm going to fly to Orlando tomorrow and have been getting up every morning just to add more songs to my repertoire... I'd be lost -- and BORED -- without my ipod!!!

I have a 'plane music' playlist which lets me sleep; I move movies and TV shows onto my iPod every week in preparation for long plane trips. Even with personal television on Lufthansa, I use my iPod instead - makes a 14 hour flight pass much more quickly! :)

We fly with a plethora of electronics, including an iPod and PSP, and have never had any problems with any of them.

Heck no! I don't go on a plane without my video Ipod. It's been through security many times.
