OK gang, I think this can be a fun thread!:)

Tell me your favorite songs!!!!

I want to add some new music to my IPOD. I have lots of room, some credits at Itunes, and lots of walking in my future.

I like a wide range of music....but for the life of me, my mind is blank on what I want to add.
Right now I have over 600 songs. Just so you can understand my variety, I have Songs from the Tarzan soundtrack , Beatles:hippie: , Opeth, Guns N Roses, Lacuna Coil, Tim MCGraw, Primus, Joe Walsh, New Kids on the block(yup a child from the eighties  )Linkin Park, Jesse McCartney:rolleyes1 , Prince:scared1: , Jay-z, and of course Bon Jovi(my DD would disown me if I didn't!)

I can say, I don't really care for jazz, hard core rap or classical.
other than that..... all suggestions are welcome!!!!:dance3:

Thanks.:)

whoo hoo:woohoo: I just found the 'Kingdom in the Sky' song....the one from the youtube video that was floating aroung here a few weeks ago. It is by a group called DaVinci's Notebook

Do you like oldies stuff? Here's a list of some oldies stuff that I like. This guy did a great job on his website. Top songs listed by year, artist, and title. It should give you some great ideas. http://tropicalglen.com/Jukebox/Playa%20Cofi%20Index.htm

Check out songs from the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack.

I think the show has already "jumped the shark" as they say but it has pretty good songs on it.

Lenny Krawitz
Eagles
Madonna
Rolling Stones
Justin Timberlake

I teach spinning so I am always looking at music for my classes.
Some I am enjoying right now:
Amazing Grace by the DropKick Murphys
Mas Que Nada Sergio Mendes and the Blackeyed Peas
Come on Eileen Dexys Midnight Runners
Soundtrack from the movie Invincible

Theres a really big song over here called grace kelly- dunno if you can get it in america, its by someone called MIKA
Do you like musicals at all? if so I suggest wicked!

Give Taylor Hicks' new CD a listen (previews on his MySpace or www.taylorhicks.com.) I think you and I have similar music taste (see my sig). Taylor did a fantastic job with the CD. I've been a fan for a while, so it may seem I'm biased, but I tend to be real critical of musicians I think a lot of (like I'll tell ya that tracks 1 & 2 are cheesy! Otherwise, it's superb.)

I've recently been listening to Norah Jones - she has a new CD coming out Tuesday. Absolutely some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard.

Another one I picked up from the library and can't stop listening to is Joan Jett's greatest hits (you mentioned the 80s!)

If you have a good library system, you might check out their music collection. Ours allows us to borrow music from any library in the county system. You reserve it online. It's been a goldmine for me!

Have fun.

I like Christina Aguilera 'Back to Basics'. Her song 'Hurt' is pretty good if you're in a sad mood.

Bee Gees
Earth, Wind and Fire

I also like smooth jazz:

Richard Elliott
Al Jarreau
Diana Krall
Peter White
Ramsey Lewis
Dave Koz

and I listen to
Luther Vandross
George Benson
Allison Krauss
Carlos Santana

Alejandro Fernandez
Luis Miguel
Shakira
Olga Tanon

to name a few.

I love the new CD by Yusef Islam. You may know this artist by his previous name--Cat Stevens.

He hasn't had new work in ages, and it is really really really good!

Great suggestions!!!! Some of which I do have, some I should have, and a few I have never heard of...but am definately going to check out!!!

Thanks.

Any one else have any suggestions????

I listen to mainly contemporary Christian. My favorites are:
Chris Rice
Newsboys
Rich Mullins
FFH
Avalon
Casting Crowns

I also love Paul Simon (Negotiations and Love Songs is a greatest hits album that I love!), the Chicago Soundtrack, the Xanadu soundtrack (did I just admit that???).

DD14 downloaded some music for her iPod that I loved and put on my own: Panic! at the Disco and Plain White T's.

I have a wide range of musical taste as well. I have over 3200 songs on my ipod...it's so addicting!!!

Here's some of my picks:

I have everything by U2 on my Ipod but for the casual fan I would recommend
U218 Singles
My personal favorites are Joshua Tree & Achtung Baby

As you'll notice below, I love the 80's!!! BTW, I'm not a big fan of greatest hits albums since the real treasures are often overlooked on the orignal release but it's the cheapest way to get a sampling for someone that isn't as fimilar with the artist...

Coldplay - X & Y or A Rush of Blood to the Head
The Cure - Galore
Depeche Mode - Violator
The Doors - Greatest Hits
The Beatles - #1's
Duran Duran - Decade: Greatest Hits
Erasure - Pop! The First 20 Hits
Frank Sinatra - The Very Good Years
The Fray - How to Save a Life
Garbage - Garbage
The Killers - Hot Fuss
New Order - The Best of New Order
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine
Oasis - What's the Story Morning Glory? & Be Here Now
Offspring - Ixnay on the Hombre
Pet Shops Boys - Discography: The Complete Singles
The Police - Every Breath You Take: The Singles
Prince - Hits 1 & 2
Queen - Greatest Hits
Snow Patrol - Eyes Open
Third Eye Blind - Third Eye Blind
Weezer - Make Believe

Well, I could go on but I think this should give you some more idea's!!

The Killers- Sam's Town
Snakes on a Plane soundtrack
Walk the Line soundtrack
P!ATD-A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
Snow Patrol-Eyes Open
