Ipod music question?

Is it possible to get free music on Ipods if so how? If not name a MP3 player that could. Thanks.

Some places you can get some legal crappy music. But it is really stupid, unknown made by weirdos music.

Like previously said, there are some ways to illegally. There are a couple "decent" sites out there that provide free music. Not that I know of them or anything...

Go onto limewire
Download the song of your choice
Go to your limewire library, double click the songs and open my music
Drag -literally- the songs to 'my music'
Open iTunes
File> Import
And click the song you want
You can change all the info on the song such as the: title, artist, genre
You won't get the album art, unless you already bought a song from the album, and to do that you:
Double click on the song with the album art
Right click and click copy
Then go to the song that you want to have the same album
Right click on where the album art is supposed to be and click paste

Limewire is illegal whether you buy it or not. By purchasing a license you are paying for ad-free support and high speed downloads.

Limewire, like Kazaa, Bearshare, and any others out there, are called P2P (peer to peer) clients. The software is designed to search the hard drives of those who use it, and allow people to exchange files with eachother. The RIAA considers this illegal because you do not own the rights to the song, and therefore do not own the rights to copy or exchange it. When you buy a CD or a song legally from a source, you are purchasing a single copy license of that song.

For example: Cindy goes to Target and buys the high school musical soundtrack. She loads the CD into her computer and continues on with life. John opens up limewire and does a search for "breakin free" and because Cindy has limewire, and because she has loaded her HSM CD into her hard drive, John is able to copy it from her. This is the practice that is illegal. Has John bought HMS or is he "stealing" it?

The same applies with DVDs (although its even stricter with DVDs because its a different branch of the government)

Yes it is. In buying Limewire, you're giving money to the criminals who steal the music, and you're becoming a criminal, yourself.

It doesn't matter what MP3 player you have. You cannot get good free music legally. Some play different things. Like, Walmart doesn't work on iPods, and iTunes doesn't work on all players, cause they are different types of files. But, anyway, free music is illegal, and so many viruses get transferred from Limewire. I would not use Limewire, cause who knows what else you're getting with the song. I would just use iTunes, or Walmart or something. It's 99 cents. Walmart 88. So, yeah.


ETA- I completly agree with Sparx. I have very strong feeling againt Limewire, also. I just use iTunes.

I work for Apple Computers so I get this question all the time from iPod users.

I will Pirate as long as the RIAA forces legal sites to have DRM. btw limewire isn't that great, I enjoy torrents a lot more.

Limewire is awful anyway. I heard of some people who use it and complain how it transfers all the sounds from the computer. That includes the "click" sound and other sounds you hear when opening pages or whatever.

Use soulseek and then open WMP and import songs from your HD onto your Ipod. Downloading music isn't illegal its sharing it with others that makes it illegal.

I downloaded Limewire then uninstalled it..I decided it wasn't a good idea. I'm better off sticking with iTunes..
