I have a few short Clay Aiken videos (>5 minutes each) that I want to download (upload?) to my iPod. The videos are already saved to my hard drive (I downloaded them from a Clay website). Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?

Thanks! (From an iPod newbie)

You probably have to convert them to MP4 or whatever it is called. I use cucusofts Ipod movie converter. I got the program off bearshare and it is easy to use. Maybe you can find out where else you can download it from.

Thanks, everyone! I'll check out the site I downloaded them from to see if they are MP4-friendly (is that a word?).

As a side note, if I want to transfer a DVD on to my iPod, can I do that? I realize that I'd be eating up a lot of the memory, but I'm just curious if that can be done. Thanks!

all you need is a program to rip dvd's and recode them to mpeg4. you can do it with virtually any media file out there right now. if you want to pay for a program, they'll as little as $30.00. it's very easy.

Hi Sylvester!

What type of progarms are available to make this coversion? Can I do it with Windows Media Player, or is there another program I need? Once I switch it over to a mp4 file, how do I transfer it to my iPod? Thanks!

Debi,

I just PMed you in reponse to the PM you sent me. In it, there's a link to a thread on the Clayboard that should be helpful in finding the appropriate downloads and (as far as I can tell) a helpful tutorial.

Of course, I don't HAVE a video iPod, so what do I know? :confused3

GOOD LUCK!!

google a program called handbrake. it's free, but doesn't have the features of some other programs. it'll rip the dvd and convert it to mp4. you then just add it to your itunes library. taadaa.......

Thank you!! I'm off to download Handbrake now. Is there a way to convert existing videos to MP4's using Handbrake?

Do you have a mac? There's a dead easy (and free way) to rip DVDs onto your iPod if you do...

Rich::

No, I have a PC (running Windows XP on it). :(

The Handbrake program only works if you're trying to convert a 'regular' DVD to your iPod. I'm trying to take some concert video clips from a Clay website on to my iPod. I already have them downloaded on to my hard drive, so I need to either take them from my hard drive or from the Clay site on to my iPod.

Help! How do I convert these files?

Okay, so I finally got the video to iTunes, but now for some reason, the video won't transfer from iTunes to my iPod. Help! Any suggestions?
