I think my earlier post got lost somewhere along the line. Working on my packing list for 6/22 (it was 21 degrees here this morning--HAD to do something cruise-related :) )
What item(s) did you find invaluable to have with you? Or, was there something you wish you had taken?

Our "I'm so glad I brought . . . " items are:

1) Over the door shoe holder !
2) disposable underwater camera
3) extra ziploc bags in all sizes
4) 2 way airfresheners for bathrooms (solid w/spray all in one)

My "I wish I had brought and will definitely take next time" items:
1) wine
2) work-out clothes
3) insulated cooler bag to take to beaches

"How 'bout you?"

The only thing I can really remember wishing I had with me were some slip-on type sandals. I had sneakers, dress shoes, and buckle-type sandals, and if I just wanted to run out of the room for something or when going up on deck to catch some rays slip ons would have been so much easier! Same goes for my DSs too - much easier for pool use!

Okay - just thought of another - a clock with a lit face. I tend to wake up early and it would have been nice to be able to just crack open an eye to see how early it was and roll over for a few more minutes sleep instead of having to wake up all the way to find my watch and enough light in which to be able to read the time! After that, I was usually too awake and just got up - but I did get to see some beautiful sunrises!

Other than that, I had spent a good bit of time on these boards beforehand, so I was pretty well prepared.

I can't think of anything too special that I was glad to have brought, although the things on keenercam's list were good ones! The only thing that comes to mind were the card cases on cords that we wore around our necks. I remember keeping my KTTW card, ID, a folded up kids navigator, small notepad, and pencil in mine - no hands or pockets needed!

I did a "tips" report on the trip report board that might be useful. It's not just packing related, but also "things to know".

Have a great trip!

What I found adorable when I cruised was when I saw the little girls dressed as princesses waiting to get their photos taken with disney's princesses :). It was sooooo cute. If I had a little girl who was into princesses I would definitely bring her favorite dress up with me.

Things I'm really glad I had:
1) travel clock with alarm and light
2) bottled water (refilling the bottles with tap water was fine)
3) soft-sided cooler
4) sodas
5) mixed nuts for in-room snacks
6) lots of Ziplocks
7) extension cord
8) blow-up mat for the beaches

Things I wish I'd packed:
1) hard sided folder for photos from shutters to keep them from getting bent on the way home
2) flip-flop sandals
3) shampoo/conditioner (the stuff in the cabin is NOT good)
4) windbreaker for cool day in port or Castaway Cay
5) earplugs (the ship creaks alot when the seas are rough)

Things I packed and didn't use:
1) too many pairs of shorts
2) two-way radios
3) video camera

These suggestions were great. I thought I had everything covered!

Lavne- do you know where you can buy the cases that hang around your to put the KTTW cards in?

Less. Cruised on the Magic 10/20/01. Took tooooooo much clothes, etc. Definately will travel lighter 10/12/02.

I'm bring a suit (semi-formal night), doing the tuxedo thing for formal night, and 2-3 other jackets for Lumiere's and Palo (maybe there twice :) )...bringing shirts and pants to match everything of course.

Haven't gotten to the shorts dept. yet...know I need workout clothes and swim clothes, other than that haven't decided what I want to wear while on St Thomas/St Maarten...don't want to scream tourist though I guess that's inevitable.

In answer to the question about where to get the lanyards - we bought ours at Ron Jon's the day before the cruise when we were there, but it turned out that they were about the same price (or less) in the gift shop on board and they said Disney on them instead of Ron Jon's!!

As for what I am glad I brought:
insulated sports/water bottles with straw or sippy lids for us and the kids.- we filled them at the drink station with ice and drinking water every day and had them on shore or just at the pool or in the room or wherever we wanted cold water to drink.

Glade Duet air freshener - it kept the whole room from smelling like salt water and wet clothes and we had the spray side to use when needed.

Mog- Thanks for your reply. I'm so glad to hear we can get the lanyard holders on board. I was thinking....great, another thing I have to run around looking for!!!

I'm also going to bring insulated can holders (not sure what they're called....cozies?)

You're welcome - I don't remember the name of the shop, but it's the one with all the Disney stuff (toys, t-shirts, picture frames, etc.) Have fun!

rcostello....sounds like you are bringing an awful lot of dressy clothes!!! Why not wear the tux to both formal and semi-form nights. It would be appropriate. Leave the suit at home and just bring one jacket to wear with different shirts for when you are in the other nice restaurants. A nice pair of Dockers with a jacket is very nice

Pack as light as you can...you will be glad you did!!!

We actually have 2 different cases. One is the Coleman brand waterproof case - they are sold in the camping department at Walmart, Target, Kmart, etc. The others were actually sold with the school supplies at Target 2 school shopping seasons ago. They are transparent colored plastic and came filled with junk like paper clips, stickers, and the perfect sized notepad and pencil! I picked those up when they went on clearance! They are both like small boxes (soap dish sized) on a heavy duty cord for wearing around the neck. As I said, I liked them because I had other stuff in there besides just the KTTW card.

I am not sure if what we have is the same thing as the lanyard mog mentioned. I don't recall seeing these in the gift shop, so I'm not positive. To me a lanyard means just a clip on a shoelace type cord. We have them here at work with a card pocket attached to wear our IDs around our necks. I've read where people have punched holes in their KTTW cards and attached them to the lanyard that way.

...a highlighter to highlight the "must-do" activities in your navigator. It made my life simpler.
