intimate weddings!!! making the most of your day

We got married last sept 8 at Sunset Pointe at 5pm it was beautiful. I had Randy for my pics and he was wonderful. I traded the Disney photography for a honeymoon session at MK for $50. You have plenty of time to plan it takes a little time after you book to get the packet. STVS did our video and had no problem with wind noise. We ate at 1900 fare afterwards and all the characters made a big fuss. We got really cute pic. Good luck and if you have any ? about sunset point just ask.

yes it is an intimate, we have changed the time to 11:00am and it has been confirmed by out wedding planner. When we booked the wedding we knew it we were asked what time we wanted, our choices were 9am 11 am 1pm 3-m and 5pm. We were going to have a 5:00pm wedding but have changed it to 11am, out travel agent has emailed disney and they have comfirmed the time. Im a little worried now as have booked out videographer and photographer for 11am!

i have a question does wind effect the videos much at sunset point?

Hi We've got our ceremony booked for Sunset Pointe on November 15 2005 - no time confirmed as yet - or offered for that matter and I've booked through Virgin!

We were umming and ahhing about the location as I wanted the WP but there are only 9 of us, and I wanted an informal ceremony - so we decided the WP would be too big and too formal so chose Sunset Pointe.

however I went dress shopping on Saturday and the informal wedding is now out of the window as I am wearing a full on "princess" meringue dress and the boys will need to wear suits!

So now I'm thinking... should I try and get the WP after all... What do you all think - WP v Sunset pointe - I see that you were married in a big (beautiful) wedding dress - what made you choose Sunset pointe? How many guests did you have? Would you recommend it?

Has anyone had an intimate at the WP? Did it feel too big?

And also does anyone know where the cake reception is held - and whether you get to have a "first dance" or if it's just a quick eat cake/drink champagne - get out of there reception. The booklet said the ceremony lasts 15 mins but didn't say about any other timings...

Sorry about all the questions, but now I have my dress it's finally sunk in that I'm getting married and now I'm panicking! Up until now I've been having a whale of a time organising my Disney holiday and not really thinking about the actual wedding day!

my dress is big! i am a little worried about it dragging on the floor but i still think sunset will be the perfect place to marry. Excuse my ignorance but what is WP?

Sorry - the Wedding Pavillion at The Grand Floridian... I was determined not to use acronyms as I spend ages trying to decode people's messages, and now I'm doing it myself! :goodvibes

My dress is big too, and has a small train - but not really big enough for someone to hold up behind me - more a puddle on the floor when I stand still... I'm pretty sure Sunset pointe is the place, but I just wanted other people's opinions. My other worry is that my dress is big - and if it's a hot day I may flake - I'm pretty sure the WP is air conditioned...

:cheer2:

rosiejo - had my intimate wedding at WP- and, no, it did not feel too big. It was beautiful!!

Read that many of you are using Jack Day as your officiant...I absolutley LOVE him!!! He was so sweet and calming (I was VERY nervous!!). I felt like I had known him forever!!!

we are having rev jack day he has been very sweet!

about the big dress and the weather i understand what you mean, im worried it maybe very hot and as im used to cold english weather the heat will be hard to deal with, let alone wearing my beautiful big dress! oh well! :teeth:

i was thinking about WP but thought we would look silly as its just the two of us and i thought we would look lost in it!

We were hot, but I had my heart set on Sunset Pointe from the first pic I saw. My mother tried to talk me into the WP and after the ceremony she told me I had made the perfect choice. We got really lucky it poured before and after the ceremony so we had our cake cutting and dances inside which was air conditioned. It was really nice I danced w/ my dad and my husband. My dress wan't bad at all, it got a little dirty walking through the wet grass for the pics.

it sounds very nice! i cant wait to get married its now 26 weeks and 6 days and i cant sleep as im soooooooooo excited!

what made you so sure on sunset? i picked it as it looked so romantic and i love the idea of the castle being in the background!
