Just wondering.......I've seen several posts where intimates mentioned a deposit. I have been talking to our EM for months and been booked since the end of last year. No one has ever requested a deposit or even mentioned it.

Have any of you intimate brides or vow renewals paid a deposit?

Things have probably changed, but last February when I booked our Intimate the sales associate said that the deposit on our 4-night resort room stay was the Intimate wedding deposit. We didn't have to pay the balance until 30 days before the wedding.

I have wondered the same thing. I was never asked to pay a deposit either...and now I'm a month out from our wedding....can't believe I'm actually at the month mark! :woohoo: :cloud9:

the "deposit" is basically paying for your package deposit or paying for your first nights stay. :thumbsup2

I had to have my 4 night room stay and pay a deposit to keep my date booked for the WP- I am not sure if it is the same for other locations. :confused3 I would call my EM just to make sure as some things have started to change for the intimates.

I had to book my 4 night stay, plus I sent a deposit to my planner with my contract, that held my date and location. I think it was like $250.00 ? That was about 1 month into my planning I guess.

Well, we do have our reservation info already given to our planner, but no mention was made of any other deposit.

I'd be willing to bet that when they changed all intimates to the "add-on" format, the deposit went away (since you pay it on the rooms).

I had to pay a 10% deposit (roughly one nights stay as Ashley mentioned) before I would be assigned to my EM.

I thought the balance was due 45 days in advance...but perhaps it's 30 days (I don't remember...and then it could have changed...I'm so confused! ;) )

WDWINJUNE...if you are 30 days out, I would call Disney to confirm everything and make sure you are okay with the balance due and all that...it would be awful to have that kind of "ugly" surprise.

Mine was to book an intimate for this December- (2006) I had to book a 4 night stay and then send in with the contract a $500.00 deposit for the WP

I never got any kind of contract for an intimate. We received the planning package questionnaire, which I need to fax to my planner by March 13. I'm pretty sure we have to pay in full 30 days out.

That is what I had to do. So, I payed the $500 deposit to DFTW plus the deposit for our resort stay.

Maybe it is different for VR? :confused3

I am glad that I am not the only one who had to pay the deposit for DFTW and plus the deposit for the resort stay.

I'm pretty sure there is no difference in Disney's view between vow renewals and weddings (the only difference is the license issue)...my guess is the difference is in continuous policy changes.

Yeah, and seems like it depends sometimes on which EM you get as well.

Although, even Rev. Jack quotes different prices for weddings & vow renewals. Other brides have said their quote for a wedding was $150, while our vow renewal is going to be $175. Seems like a renewal would be much less paperwork than a wedding, but, what do I know! :rotfl:

it's probably more expensive for a vow renewal 'cause they have to pay more attention to what they say...they have the "wedding" part down pat, by memory...but the vow renewal could be a little tricky!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:scratchin Hmmm... I am only booked about two months before you, at the WP and I didn't recieve a contract nor was I asked for a deposit. :confused3

They're always changing things.
