I'm on the phone with MS. It was for Pono Kai. I told her I didn't want Pono Kai and one of the resorts I want has weeks available and she put me on hold to "check with her team."

This is probably Interval being proactive. It was not confirmed (you'd know it, because you'd have the confirmation in your account), but they periodically put things that are close to what you ask for on hold and then try to call you to get you to take it.

For what it's worth 110 points for a 1BR with a full kitchen at PK might not be horrible. I would definitely not take a partial kitchen unit. That was the most recent building built and those units are quite small and have a "tennis court" view. Most of the rest are much better. You can always trade up to something better if you want.

(I know this because I did take one of those partial-ktichen units, but as an RCI Last Call rental for cheap when I needed something on very short notice. It was fine as a Last Call.)

Thanks @Brian Noble ! I owe you an iced tea. I was able to cancel the Pono Kai and get Hilton Kaanapali. I'll have to pay $210. to the resort when I check in, but the points for one bedroom were only 130. So, the overall cost is slightly below what I was planning on paying. It's going to be a looooong wait, but at least it's one less thing I need to think about.

We recently completed a points exchange to Cabo San Lucas, MX in March. We "spent" 130 DVC points for a 1-bedroom / 2 bath unit with a kitchen (cooktop but no oven). We were very pleased with the resort (Villa del Palmar) and thought 130 points was a fair trade especially considering it was over spring break. The only DVC 1-bedrooms that even come anywhere close to only using 130 points are the AKV 1-bedroom value villas (which are unicorns) in shoulder season / winter. It was probably a better deal to do a cash getaway but these were banked points that we needed to use so why spend the extra cash when we could use the money for excursions or meals.

I would definitely use Interval International again for some sort of an exchange or getaway. I peruse the inventory on a fairly regular basis now so I can stay aware of anything tempting to book.

VDP is AI optional with a 3-day consecutive minimum if you add it at the front desk (@ $140 pp per day). ALTHOUGH you also have the option to buy it from the pool concierge on a day by day basis. They offered 3 different plans A La Carte at the pool - we chose the most expensive plan that included the evening dinner / themed show one evening. It was roughly $120 pp USD. That was the only day we did it though because we had things planned off-site for several days.

It is AI optional. You can buy it for a minimum of 3 consecutive days for $140 pp or you can buy it day by day A La Carte from the pool concierge. We chose to buy it from the pool concierge for our first full day there as we were just planning for a relaxing pool / beach day. The plan we chose (out of 3 options) included the evening themed dinner / show for approx. $120 pp USD.
