My husband must use his own laptop to check into work while away on vacation. Logging in from another computer simply won't work.

I know there is internet connection available on board, but I was wondering if anyone knew ....

Do you connect using their computers? Or are there places to plug in your own?

Thanks in advance!

There's no way to connect a laptop to the Internet via the Internet service available onboard. His only options...

1) Connect via dial-up at the price of $6.99/minute.

2) Work with his I.T. department to be able to access proprietary stuff via a web browser on a public terminal.

3) Forward his email to a browser-based mail service such as HotMail or Yahoo! Mail.

4) Forward his email to a paid browser-based mail service with a little more flexibility... mailblocks.com.

I've used gotomypc and am hoping it will be of use on our next cruise. Once you sign up and install the client software on the host computer, you can access that computer from any web browser --- $19.95 / month.

Your IT department may never know it's on your office computer --- it will leave an icon in your system tray when it's running AND they can see what you're doing if your monitor is on. 30 day free trial.

Has anyone used this from the ship?
