If you have an iphone and you have insurance on it, who do you have it insured with? What kind of coverage? Or did you just choose not to insure it?

Thanks :)!

I bought mine through best buy and bought their plan. I actually used it, as my mute button broke. They gave me a loaner and had a refurbished phone to me in a week. There is another 3rd party insurer.

Chose not to insure it.

Thanks, that is what my plan was (we got ours last month) but DH is wanting me to check into insurance...just in case :)

We got ours at At&t, but they said there are multiple insurers out there. I just have no idea who. :) Thanks.

We got DS#4 a Droid for Christmas from Verizon. The insurance is $8 a month which is a bit pricey. There is an $80 deductible. I found out today the SquareTrade.com offers insurance on cell phones for $76. for 2 years, a $50 deductable but the insured value is only $400. Many of these phones cost more than that. They are talking about raising the limit. If they do, then I will cover his phone with them.

I don't have insurance on mine but I've heard from others that Square Trade was pretty good to deal with.

We got the $8/month insurance from Verizon for DS17's Droid. There was one for $6/month (I think) but the $8/month covered more like getting wet. I haven't gotten insurance for any other phone we have but I did for this one because it is so expensive to replace.

Thanks Dawn, I'll look up Square Trade :)! $400 wouldn't cover it, but it would definitely help!

The one that covers wet is a good idea! Unfortunately, Att doesn't offer insurance on iphone. I never have done it on any of my other phones either. Thanks!

When I signed up with Cingular (now ATT) in 2005, I paid for phone insurance through ASSURION for years. I lost my (then) very expensive Motorola (first cell with a camera) and got some cheaps*** REFURBISHED Samsung which never worked correctly. Did this twice, and then dropped ASSURION. Total waste of money! Never again! If you buy insurance through your provider, you will most likely get a refurbished replacement...and not the brand/quality you originally paid for. These days, I use the $50.00 cheapie with camera, because that's all I need. No texting, no music, no internet, no e-mail, no garish bill. Don't need that stuff. $44.00/month works for me!
