Inspired by the nails thread; how high maintenance are you?

I'm usually in T-shirt and jeans, but dress up sometimes. I don't do anything special with my hair, but I like having it look nice. I usually don't wear makeup or have my nails done.

Compared to my friends who are fondly referred to as the services W'hoes I am low maintenance. ;)

I get my hair cut when it annoys me, frustrates me or my bangs are in my eyes.
It gets colored every 2-6 months depending on what I had done - sometimes solid colors and other times highlights. Makes my hair chick a little nuts.
I get my brows waxed when I get my hair colored.

I used to get my nails done w/gels but I got tired of the upkeep and took them off a couple of weeks ago. I do get a pedicure a couple of times in the summer and usually once in the winter. I love Pedicures w/a french polish

My morning routine from alarm to out the door is 40 minutes and includes shower, hair washed, dried and flat ironed. Makeup consists of 3 products and 3 brushes - Mary Kay mineral foundation, MAC blush and powder eye liner. I add clear lip goo on the way to work after I eat my toast or sometimes lipstick if I have an appt. except for the foundation all makeup is MAC. I wear makeup if I am leaving the house.

I'm not into shoes, handbags or clothes. I have a favorite pair of jeans and keep buying the same ones. I love flip flops and switch to clogs when it snows. I only wear slip on shoes.

I hate facials but I do adore a massage. I get a massage about once a year.

One of my best friends:
Hair, cut, colored & dyed every 2 weeks in a high end salon, she periodically adds extensions for a different look
Massage weekly (I hate her)
Nails and toes - every other week
Eyelash extensions - "filled" every other week
she gets facials, peels, botox, juvaderm & something waxed regularly (she waxes everything) - at least one of these type of services every week.
She loves shoes, clothes and handbags - I do not know how she does it or how she pays for it.
she wears foundation, eye liner and has tattooed lip liner that she fills in with color.

Very low maintenance, I get my hair clipped every few months (keep it about 1 inch long), no make-up, no dye, no nails to speak of, jeans/t-shirt. I can roll out of bed and be ready to go in 10 minutes.

I guess I am no maintenance. I don't wear make up, nail polish, perfum, hair product. I get my hair cut once or twice a year, no colour ever. I am not greying yet but even then won't bother. I usually do the wal-mart for clothes. I love the George line.

Sounds like me, except I am graying (don't care) and shop at Kohl's rather than Wal-Mart.

Hmm. I've never had a manicure, pedicure, facial, etc. In fact, I've never set foot in such a salon. I go absolutely make-up free, and am happy to do so! :goodvibes

My wardrobe would be called "business casual" I suppose. I enjoy dressing up. My hair is naturally low-maintenance. It's curly, so all I need is a little mousse and I'm good to go. I've never colored my hair either.

I've never had a manicure or a pedicure or facial.

I would like to try a pedicure someday.

I get my haircut every 4 weeks. I highlight it every 8 to 12 weeks.

I wear makeup when I work and it is minimal these days. I just don't like fooling with it anymore.

I'm not into shoes, purses or fashion. I used to really like fashion but that's because of my job and where I worked.

I wax my own eyebrows and use Ice Elements 2 min. miracle for exfoliation on my face.

I think I'm very low maintenance...
Short hair that gets cut when it is too long for me to style with a hair dryer in 5 minutes
Hair gets colored out of a box :scared1:maybe every two months or when I get tired of seeing the gray or need a pick-me-up
Nails get filed down to the same length whenever one breaks...no polish ever
Tried a pedi once and hated having someone touch my feet
Tried a massage once and enjoyed it, but I'd rather spend the $ on my kids or on books
Jeans and casual shirts on the days I don't work, and slacks and a casual shirt on the three days I work
Buy my discounted clothes at TJMaxx, Ross, Marshall's or on sale
Very simple 'drugstore' makeup that I usually don't leave the house without putting on
I am, however, addicted to jewelry and have some very cool amber pieces and Native American silver and turquoise, among others :thumbsup2

I'm pretty low maintainence. I get an inexpensive haircut every two months or so. I blow dry/curl my hair and usually wear a bit of make up - bare minerals foundation, blush, and a bit of mascara. I do some plucking, sadly mostly on my chin.

The only thing I do to my nails is cut them. In general, although I have to mess with my hair a bit and camoflauge some rough spots, my goal is to look really natural.

Very low maintenance.

I have my hair cut medium now, but when I do get it "done" you know, curled and all, then it does look kind of pretty. I don't like it dyed besides I stay outside a lot so I get the natural highlights.
I wear make up for special occasions but I only wear a little bit of throughout the day, a small bit of face powder or foundation, mascara and lip gloss.

I learned how to do my own nails, so I give myself a manicure and pedicure.

I only "do" my face once a week which just means a face mask. My cousin can do great eyebrows so I get them done sometimes.

I am pretty casual clotheswise, but I love jewelry.

It is interesting to see people's perception of their maintenance level :lmao:.

Sounds like me, except I am graying (don't care) and shop at Kohl's rather than Wal-Mart.

Oh my gosh - we might be twins!

Occassionally, I get fed up with my gray hair and dye it at home from a box - I just pick a brown - which is close to my dark brown hair then when the roots grow, it is barely noticeable - but it serves to cover my gray highlights

I usually am embarrassed to discover that is has been 3-4 months since my last haircut. When I do get a haircut I just go to one of those walk-in, no appointment necessary places for a trim - either the family salon at walmart or supercuts where my husband goes.

I never wear make-up and on those very very rare occassions when I do, it just feels weird...if I get warm it feels like my face is melting - my wedding day I had my make-up professionally done (after some arm twisting from my girls) but I was very self conscious because it is just not me.

I do like a pedicure in the summer but I have started doing at them home to save money.

I guess I fall on the natural end of the spectrum - is natural - just defined as no make-up? If so, I'm "natural"

I am glad I inspired this thread from my nail thread!! I actually consider myself low maintenance. I have make-up but normally only wear on special occassions....I get my eyebrows waxed every 2-3 weeks, haircut every 4 months. But I am thinking of getting the gel nails. Going to look into that on Monday. I did have a deep tissue massage on a cruise and I hurt so bad from it I have never went back! And I do my own pedicures because I don't like people to touch my feet.
So yeah, I would say that I am low maintenance!

I'm low maintenance. When getting ready in the morning, I'm in and out of the bathroom in 15 minutes and that includes my shower. I do wear a bit of makeup every day.

I have very curly hair and about 19 years ago (when dd was born), I decided to quit fighting it by straightening it and just go along with it. I was wasting too much of my life trying to get it to do something it didn't want to do. Now I just comb it when it's wet and go. I get a cut about every 6 months and color it occasionally at home.

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being no maintenance and 10 being the highest you can get, I'm probably a 1 or 2. :rotfl:

I get my hair cut once or twice a year, no coloring, no highlights, no extra stuff like that. I don't wear make-up, at least 99% of the time anyway. Occasionally if we're going out to dinner or to a wedding or something I might put on a bit of mascara/eye shadow/blush/lipstick but rarely. I never have my nails done, and I never polish them. I don't get pedicures either. I'm just not interested in all that stuff. It takes me about a half-hour to get ready in the mornings (shower, blow dry/curl hair, brush teeth, etc.) and I'm good for the day.

Yeah, I'm about as low-maintenance as you can get. I *do* color my hair once in a great while, but the only other thing I do is run some gunk through it while it's drying (naturally) to try to tame it down to something a little less than a lion's mane...

I am very low maintenance. I get my hair cut about every eight weeks. I am getting some white hairs now, so I am going to start coloring it soon, but I wish I didn't have to. I don't like the extra bother associated with hair coloring, but I really don't like the white hairs and want them gone. I wear make-up to work and occasionally if we go out. I have never had a manicure or pedicure and don't see the point. I don't collect purses, shoes or Yankee candles.

I am LOOOOW maintenance.

I have never colored or highlighted my hair. (I'm 44) I have never had either a mani or a pedi. And I get my hair cut about twice a year.
