Inspired by the Germaphobe thread - Q about bedding

The germaphobe thread reminded me of the threads last year about whether or not they change the bedding at Disney World in between guests. I was wondering if anyone ever found this out for sure. I also wondered if anyone had asked for freshly laundered bedding when they checked in and if it was happily given to you.

It's my understanding from what I've read on previous thrreads that the sheets are changed between guests..however the bedspreads are laundered on a rotational basis. How often that is, I'm not sure. I've read that the comoforter or bed spread is probably best removed, and placed in the closet in ANY hotel..Disney or otherwise. I don't consider myself to be a germaphobe..and have been to Disney MANY times. I don't think they are exempt from the problem of bed bugs that so many hotels are experiencing these days.(big problem in NYC..even in the most expensive of hotels) There has been a real re-emergence of these critters due to the increase in foreign travel. Where we in the US formerly had eradicated these critters..now THEIR BACK! In fact in ANY hotel room I've been in, I simply check for the signs, as I know them to be. Lift up the mattress and check the corner seams..even tell tale signs on the walls. It probably takes all of three minutes. Gives me peace of mind..and then on with the trip. We also don't place our clothes in the drawers, but hang some in the closet and keep the rest in our suitcase. There's never enough drawer space for all of us anyway.

Sheets - yes

Blankets, pillows and comforters - no, they are laundered on a rotation (around once per month for comforters, not sure about blankets and pillows)

You can ask for "clean" bedding when you check in, but how do you know that bedding was freshly laundered, or if it came out of another room where the guests asked for new bedding? I don't trust it, and just put comforters in the closet or behind a piece of furniture when I check in!
