Inspired by ShamWOW - Infomercial purchases you have made?

We bought the ShamWOW at a mall. It was buy two rolls for $20. I got one for my dad and kept the other one.

Let's just say I'm not impressed. I spilled a can of coke on our hardwood floors and though, "Hey, great time for the ShamWOW!" so I went and grabbed the roll, pulled out a ShamWOW and sopped up the soda. The floor was still wet. So, I folded it in half and wrung it out in the sink and went back. Still, the floor was really wet. It was sucking up the coke, but not drying it totally like on TV AND AT THE MALL where I saw it work in person.

So, I used the ShamWOW again, then used a paper towel and then cleaned the area with floor cleaner to get the sticky up.

Not only that, but the Coke stained the ShamWOW.

I think I'll take off the WOW part and just call this a Sham.

(I did see where another poster said they should be used slightly damp. Mine started bone dry.)

Oh PLEASE try to find the commercial on YouTube or something. You just have to see it and then you will WANT to buy it just because of the funny.......

I don't know... I did like his nuts... They were so fine... Wait. Wait. Ummm, I meant the chopped nuts. :rotfl2:

If it's like a regular chamois, then yeah, it should be used slightly damp. I don't own a ShamWOW but I have owned and used several Sammys (same thing, but marketed to swimmers and divers) from back in the day when I swam and they were FANTASTIC. They always said you should get it wet first, wring it out, and then use it to dry off, though.

I haven't purchased Joy's hangers but I am seriously thinking of purchasing those plastic hangers that have about 6 holes in them. Well there is a hanger and six holes and then another hanger. Then you take the one hanger off the rod and all six pieces of clothes kind of hang down and take up less space.
I would love to hear if anyone has those.

We don't have the newer ones that are being advertised. But we have older ones and I love them. The ones we have aren't as strong as I would like them, but then I tend to put 2-3 hangers in each hole. Just to increase their space saving capacity. ;)

OH dont get that!! The whole back is open like a hospital gown and your butt cheeks will get frost bite!

Not if you're sitting down. I do this with my jacket on the bus every now and then. You're back and butt are only exposed if you're standing up or walking.;) For the record, I would just use my robe backwards instead of wasting money on them.

The Green Bags dont work? Blasted! Ive thought about getting those.

Not according to Consumer's Reports. I wouldn't waste my money on them.

ok tell me about sham wow, does it work like in the commercial? i am tempted to order.

My dad said he saw them at Walgreens a week or so ago.

I bought a Tweeze. Ow! Ow! Ow!

Yep. All it's doing is yanking out the hair. I bought something similar for my legs when I was in college. A couple tries and back it went. My legs had red spots for days afterward.

DD wants Benderoos. The commercial came on yesterday and she said, "Oh, I want those, but you have to be 18 to order. Mom, are you 18? Cause you have to be 18." :lmao:

My DD"s are OBSESSED with Benderoos. The commercial makes them look like the greatest thing since moonsand

We actually got a trial pack at a restaurant the other day to play with while we were waiting for our food. They seemed like yarn coated in wax. They got dirty and lost their color quickly, but they were fun for a couple of minutes...

Does anyone have this:

For some unknown reason, I MUST watch the infomercial for this anytime I catch it when flipping around. I don't want one of these, I just HAVE TO watch the infomercial.

I have a PedEgg and like it a lot - but I bought it at Walgreens.

My grandmother really loved the CleverClasp I got her last Xmas.

I have Mighty Putty - well, the store brand version of it from ACE Hardware - and it works well for pipe leaks.

I think the snuggie/slankets are hilarious. The family sitting around int he red ones looks like some creepy cult gathering!

Has anyone seen the new one for the hair bumper (I think that is what it is called) the little domed comb-thingy that you can use instead of teasing you hair? I might be interested in that one, since I refuse to tease.

We got some sort of weird pancake maker thingy that did not work at all! The mix just slid out the sides. We even waited three months for the stupid thing because it was on back order.

Bareminerals - I sat and watched like 3 hours of an infomercial one night and I ended up buying like $200 worth of stuff and I really hate it! Oops!

I bought Billy Blanks work out dvd's - they are really good but hard! I think that is my only purchase I liked!

I got my grandma that "perfect pancake" pan one year. I knew it wouldn't work, but she is a sucker for any infomercial product.

I hate moonsand! That stuff makes such a mess and is impossible to clean up. I made her play outside in the summer with it and you can still see it in the cracks of our pavers. :headache:

They sell Benderoo's at Walgreens. Maybe they will go in the Easter basket. She keeps telling me, "They don't make marks on the walls, Mom. Seriously, they don't." I haven't found any sticky things that don't make marks on the walls yet.

I really want a Snuggie. Every time it comes on, I want it. I don't know why, but I want it, it looks like the perfect thing to watch TV or study in. And my robe is short, so I couldn't just wear it backwards, the Snuggie covers your feet too! My robe stops just before my knees.

My dad really wants the Slap Chop. He does't cook, he just likes the toys. He saw the infomercial, and just stopped and got this look in his eye.

We got the doggie steps because my puppy is getting old and the mattress is too high for her to jump on to now. What does my genius dog do? Takes a running leap and jumps over the stairs. She refused to use them. She would jump over them, and avoid them completely to get down. So we got rid of the doggie stairs, and just pick her up into bed if she wants to get on it, it's much easier than her trying to jump over the stairs and crashing into the mattress.

If you can find WikiSticks they are much better. My dd has them and has been playing with them for months and they still look new.

I swear that my dd5 is the ultimate infomercial... :rotfl2: She can recite all of the amazing things that all of these products can do.

The best is, she is working on us to get a Blue-Ray player because Disney advertises the crap out of the special features that are only availble on their Blue-Ray discs... :rotfl2:

I got the doggie steps too (not through tv though they were a gift) any way the one that is given to us for refuses to use them too  she does the same thing yours does but our little yorkie pup (24 weeks old and only 2 lbs) uses them and LOVES them  she gets mad when we move them it's funny :rotfl2:

I'm embarressed to say this, but "Sweatin' to the Oldies" (yea, Richard Simmoms). I actually liked it back in the day.

Some steam iron thing that didn't work

Time Life Music CD's

Doggie Steps---one dog uses them, other two don't.

George Forman Grill, which is great

I know there is more.....let me think and I'll get back...

My kids' favorite is at Disney World with the guy that does the Appliance Direct informercial. They sit there facinated by that guy.

"It's Wackynunu" and "I Love Appliances!":rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OMG, yes. I've seen it but won't buy it. We called it the Sarah Palin look-alike kit!

:rotfl2:

PedEgg-Love it!
George Foreman Grill--Didn't care for it at all. Waste of money for me.
ShamWOW--worked pretty good, but I forget to use it

I love infomercials...
I have bought..
Tae Bo - however, Billy Blanks totally whipped my butt!!:lmao:
Magic Bullet - we get lots of use of this at work. We make salsa all the time.
Set it, and forget it - love it! I used it all the time. It makes really good chicken.
Aqua bulbs - I bought for my kids' dad, he has tons of plants. I guess it works, the plants are still alive.
George Foreman - I use it quite often.
I want:
The bra strap thingy.
DS8 wants the backwards robe & the push on lights for his bedroom.
I want the GT express.

I don't know... I did like his nuts... They were so fine... Wait. Wait. Ummm, I meant the chopped nuts. :rotfl2:

:rotfl: That is the FUNNIEST part of the whole commercial. All of us were cracking up. We even rewound it a few times. I know...we are odd.

I have a Magic Bullet. I'd watch that corny informercial everytime it was on so DH got it for me. I also have Mighty Putty, I love that stuff, it works great!

I haven't seen the bendaroos commercial yet so I googled it. I had those in the 70's but they were called Sticky Wickys back then. :rotfl:
