Once you are in bed, how long does it take you to fall asleep? It has ALWAYS taken me forever to fall asleep. If it is totally silent, it takes longer. I try to find soemthing on tv that is a little boring, but it still takes a good hour at LEAST. (no matter when I go to bed unless I have had something to drink).

I fall to seep quick, but I anit got a guilty concious like you ;)

Now, Pop Daddy........I am a sweet little angel!! I lost my guilty conscience a long time ago. LOL:angel:

You must have mistaken me with some one else.

That is a good question.

DH is asleep the second he hits the pillow.:faint:

It is so annoying

But, for me, I think it averages about 20 minutes, but sometimes can take an hour or more. Sometimes HOURS if I have something stressful to do the next day.

It depends. If I am really tired it usually only takes me a few minutes. If I am not so tired or if I have things on my mind it can take me much longer.

When I finally get to actually sleep it only takes a few minutes - I mean less than 5 at most. It's all conditioning - knowing that I have to get to sleep fast to get the most sleep I can. But when I have a few nights in a row to actually sleep then I have insomnia and it could be hours before I sleep  .

5 yrs. working third shift plays havoc with sleep habits. Oh, to live the normal life again and sleep when normal people sleep. What is normal???

How's this - When you get to sleep - how long do you sleep?

Usually only a few minutes unless I'm worried about something.

I fall asleep in under five mins usually, and will sleep for eight hours, if I can...ie: no alarm clock/no child coughing or making other "funny" noises.

Does anybody else do this?...my DH (who is right next to me in bed can cough, rollover, whatever and I don't wake up, but one strange noise from DD's room and BOOM I'm awake!

TAkes me awhile too, but the worst thing is that if I wake up after 3-4 hours of sleep, I can't go back to sleep!

Diane- that is what happened to me this morning! I awakened at 3:00 and could NOT fall back to sleep. Although, I am thinking I may go take a short nap very soon.

Usually it takes me quite a while but it depends on the day & what I've done. If I'm really exhausted then maybe 10 minutes but my DH drives me nuts. He puts his head on the pillow & he's already snoring!

It usually takes me quite a while to fall asleep at night, especially if my husband is already asleep and snoring (which is most if the time). Even if I'm really tired it still takes me a long time. The worst part is my husband leaves for work around 12:30 am, so half of the time I finally fall asleep and then get woken up by his alarm clock half an hour later!

About 30-45 minutes

It takes me at least one hour to fall asleep and if I'm upset about something or concerned about something it will take longer. Not only that but I will awaken in the middle of the night thinking about whatever is worrying me and can't go back to sleep for several hours. It makes me crazy.
