Inspired by JTB: When you were a kid did you ever unwrap then rewrap x-mas presents?

Nup:( Because my parents never put the presents under the tree until my brother & were tucked up in bed sound asleep on Christmas Eve:(

Not fair hey??

But I don't do that to my kids..........I love to see all the pressies under the tree leading up to Christmas:)

I loved torturing myself before THE day. But many a gift has gotten a vigorous SHAKING.

(LOVE these XMAS threads!)

my parents did a decent job of hiding, and i never really snooped too much. :p

I never touched my presents. I WANT to be surprised.

One year, I accidentally found one of my presents-I was about 10-and I made my Mom take it back and get me something else.

I still don't ask for anything for Christmas from my parents-they surprise me:D

OMG, disneyvacationmom, same story..... except my mom was hiding an air hockey table in our garage for a friend. I should have known.... because that's NOT the type of gifts I ever received.

Oh & GUILTY as charged on opening & re-wrapping. :o

I never snooped, but my mother and sister are another story. They both can't stand not knowing and even worse than that, they want to tell you what they bought for you.

When my sister was going to university in Switzerland she would call me person to person collect to see if I wanted a hint as to what she bought.

My mother said Christmas snooping was in our blood because her grandmother taught her how to cut open the tape with a razorblade, making it easier to rewrap. They did very well until they opened a big box of chocolates and ate alot of them. The box was retaped and placed back under the tree. Of course they were busted Christmas morning when everyone saw the missing chocolates.

You guys are too funny! :p I never did because it never occured to me. If I had known you guys then I would have. :p I used to shake the packages, but that was about it. :p

Boots! Too funny! :p

My sister and I did this exactly one time....my mother figured out they we had done it...she was so disappointed with us :( We were older 13 and 14. We never did that again.

Besides, I like surprises, I hated knowing what my gifts were before Christmas

I never did because my mom would have killed me.

So glad to know I am not the only one to have sneaked a peek at a Christmas gift as a child! I remember asking for a gold watch on a necklace as a teenager. I saw my mom slip a small brown bag on a top shelf in a hall closet a week about 2 weeks before Christmas. Later, when I was getting dressed for a party at a friends house, I kept thinking how great that necklace would look with my new sweater. I sneaked down the little brown bag and the darn thing was stapled shut. I carefully took the 2 staples out, put on the necklace and headed off to my friends. Later I put it back in the box, put the box in the bag and put those 2 staples back in the same holes they'd originally been in....what a job! I thought I was soooo smart until my mom came home and she had surprised me by taking the film I'd used to take pictures at the party in for processing. Someone had snapped a picture of me and my best friend and there in all it's glory was a photo of my Christmas watch!...It was still 3 days before Christmas. The funniest part was my mom didn't notice it and I would sweat bullets every time she'd ask me to show the pictures to everyone in the family. I still have that picture!

Yeah I did that one time and now my parents won't leave me and my brother alone with christmas presents!

My brother was the champion stealth Christmas unwrapper/finder of presents!! He would sneak down the hallway and the stairs and get in my parents closet without making a sound!:D And he was great at slitting the tape and then rewrapping the presents!!:smooth:
