Now, I have nothing against bicycle riders. I applaud their efforts to save the environment, reduce gasoline consumption, etc.

And I will gladly "share the road" with them.

But I really wish they would LEARN TO USE HAND TURN SIGNALS!!!

There really is nothing more aggravating than to follow behind a bike rider, patiently waiting for a safe opportunity to pass them, and just as you are going beside them they suddenly swerve into you, making an unannounced left turn. Then they stare at YOU, as if you had done something wrong!!!

I signal... my friends laugh at me for being so geeky but I don't want to get hit. Not that the drivers know what i'm doing anyways.

why is it that my 6 yr old knows to ride single file, but the adults on our narrow, 2 lane rds insist on riding 2 or 3 across? Then they give you dirty looks because noone can get around them if there's a car coming the other way!

I completely agree!! There's a bike ride on Labor Day up to Mackinaw Bridge and part of the route goes through here. For several days there are bikers on the roads and many of them ride 3-4 across and will NOT go single file even if cars are behind them waiting to get by. It's so aggravating! I try to avoid those roads for those few days.

I honestly think bikes should be licensed each year (not for kids, just adults) if they're going to be riding on the roads.
