I am just starting to scrap and I have a variety of stamps - clear, rubber, foam etc. I have seen different kinds of ink. What is pigment ink? Do you use certain inks for certain stamps? I have seen where you could use pens to ink the stamps. What exactly does everyone use? Also, do you clean your stamps as soon as you are finished and with what? Any help will be appreciated.

Pigment ink needs to be heat set to dry completely. You can use markers on your stamps, but that is a bit too time consuming for me --if you want 2 different colors on the one image, then markers are good. I am not aware of any stamps that require a specific type of ink. Yes I clean my stamps as I work -- but not if I am going to repeat the image using the same ink. I use a damp paper towel or a baby wipe to clean my stamps.

i will also use the adirondack paint daubers with my acrylic and foam stamps.
i love how the black paint gives me a crisp-very dark image--with ink it always seems not as "black" as i want it.

otherwise i use any type of ink..and I use baby wipes or stamp cleaner & a scrubber pad to clean them!

I've been using washing up liquid and it doesn't really get things clean, so baby wipes here I come:rotfl2:

Thanks everyone. I read on 2 peas that several people liked the tombow markers so I ordered a set of them. Anxious to see how they do.

Pigmet ink is what you'd use if you want to heat emboss - which I do a lot of for my Christmas cards (it's so much easier to color in an embossed image!)
