I am considering ordering a pair.

For those who wear them or have tried them .....what are your opinions?

I love my crocs but I am looking for something that doesn't look so much like a slipper.

Do they run big or small??? I wear a 8 most the time and my foot leans toward the wide side.

Any help would be great. TIA

You are aware that they are LOTS more expensive than Crocs too, aren't you?

I know that DD is interested in buying them since she has had back problems and they are supposed to be good for those who have bad backs. She was told to try them on at the stores to get her size and then to order them on-line to save money.

They are European sized, so they are not your classic 6-7-8, etc.

Sorry I could not help you more... :(

Danskos pretty much saved my life...well, my job at least. I have psoriatic arthritis and I wasn't sure I'd be able to do all the standing/walking at the annual conv. we hold each year. I got Danskos and I can just go and go in them...amazing. They do cost about $120 at Nordstrom. but worth every cent. THe first pair is 3 years old and still looks new. I have 2 pairs now. They run by European sizes. I'm an 8 or 8 1/2...the 39 in Danskos fits me.

Also:I would NOT order them, definitely go to a store to get sized properly and try different styles on.

I have a pair of Dansko's. I bought a pair at a local store and they were $140.00
I wear a ladies 9 W-I-D-E, and in the dansko's wear a 40, that fit well. I work 12-14 hour days and spent all of them on my feet.
I wore the dansko's before I knew about crocs.
There is just no comparison.
Dansko's are HEAVY shoes, while they may be good for the back, they are quite HARD against the walking surfaces of your feet.
Crocs are l-i-g-h-t, and provide a comfy, cushy walking surface. Actually, I haven't worn my dansko's since I bought my crocs 3 months ago!!!

I just tried them on before typing this, and nope... had to take them off and put the crocs back on.

The crocs may not be 'cute', but what they lack in 'style' they more than make up for in comfort!!!

Thank you so much. I know they are expensive but my feet are worth it right :rolleyes1

I will check and see if anyone sells them around here. I live in a rural area.

If I can't find them locally I will find someone with free shipping and returns :teeth:

:thumbsup2 I LOVE my Danskos!

I wear them almost everyday, and after a year, they still look brand new. My DSis & DM are addicted to them and have at least 5 pairs each. You can get good deals on them on ebay!

We have the local factory store not too far from where I grew up. Everything is at least 50% off and sometimes as much as 70%.

My mom will only wear Danskos. Everywhere. All the time. With everything. I kid you not.

They run differently pair to pair becuase they are handmade. Yes, all of them. It's important that the pair you try on and fit is the pair you're interested in and want to take home. If you are taking a trip out to southeastern Pennsylvania (Lincoln University and Jennersville) orPhiladelphia, it's worth the drive. Otherwise, you might want to try to run a Google search to see if you can find another factory outlet. If not, I know Nordstroms carries them.

Be careful- they're addictive and you'll want a pair in every color. My mom (NOT a shoe person) is a perfect example.

I love my Danskos!!!!!! They saved my life when I was in retail and pregnant. Not the most attractive shoe but heaven on earth. I also have to put a plug in for Bjorns - I love my Bjorns as well.

I'm not leaving my Croc behind. I just ordered another pair for spring.

I am looking for something to wear when I go shopping or church or on a date with my DH :rolleyes1 My arches yell and ankles scream when I wear anything else. I have read so much good stuff about the Danskos that I was hoping to find another shoe that I could wear that would also my my feet happy.

I have two pairs - clogs, and I really like them. My nurse SIL tried them and hated them.

I agree they are a heavy shoe, and the arch is a bit different from what I usually wear, so sometimes if I wear them for several days in a row, my feet hurt. I think you really need to try some one to see if you will like them.

A friend of mine has a sandal that I am pretty sure is a Dansko sandal, and it has saved her back.

I have tried to wear Dansko's but they are too wide at the top of the foot for me. I don't have narrow feet, but I don't have wide feet either.

I have ordered from www.danskooutlet.com and the shoes look first-rate from there and they are about 40% off. Go to a store, try the Dansko's on to get your size and then order a pair from the outlet.

I love my Danskos! I have had them for at least 6 or 7 years and they still look great. I like how they hive me som height without being a heel and they are very comfortable. I have a wider foot and they fit well. I wear a women's size 10 and I think my Danskos are Euro size 42.

Yes, they are expensive but they last forever!

Thank you everyone for the info. I will find some place local and try them on and check out prices. Then I will see what I can find online for a cheaper price.

This board is the first place I come when looking for info. It really helps having the wide variety of people offering advice. I love the tried and true advice.
