I would like to do a weekend getaway to Disney this weekend but don't want to spend too much. We have our annual passes, so the highest cost would be the hotel. I'm thinking of doing a Priceline but was also wondering about attending a timeshare presentation. I have never attended one and wanted to know if it would be worth while to get inexpensive hotel. Any recommendations?

I would not. First, the time commitment is at least 2 hours and there are a lot of technicalities about when that 2 hours starts - like, it doesn't start until you are on the tour, and they always make it so that the time ends when you're the furthest from your car. Then you have to sit there and say no over and over again to your guide, his boss, his boss's boss, etc. Over a short weekend trip, the time involved would be a deal-breaker for me. If I'm there, I want to be in the parks. I think you could Priceline a hotel near Disney property, or even see if you can get a good AP rate at Pop.

Have to made sure you can use your Annual Passes this weekend???

Oh my, I sat thru one of those presentations one time and they made me feel so bad that I didn't buy anything that I'd gladly pay a few dollars more to stay somewhere else. There are plenty of nice places to stay so close to Disney World that don't cost very much.

Since you already have tickets & I assume will have your own car, I'd just find a cheap offsite place.

When dh & I were first dating and early in our marriage (ie. young & broke) we did some timeshare tours to get free tix.
It would end up taking half the day and while some would accept a simple no, others were into high-pressure sales. They try to entice you with the idea of "90 minutes" but in reality it's much longer. I would look into either hotwire or rent DVC points.
We rented a studio in January: 4 nts Wed-Sun, for just $406 + paypal fee. No tax added. Check the rental boards. Some owners who only have a small chunk of points remaining (1-2 nt stay) may be more willing to negotiate price per point.

Agree with al the PPs about timeshare... DH and I did it and even then, the loopholes, the pressure, the TIME-- We have APs and do weekend trips too.... but never again will we do the presentation-- these people did not understand "no!"

But to your Priceline comment, we did do an express deal in Sept and it turned out to be the Best Western in DTD-- not the best on Hotel Plaza Blvd, but we still got Disney transport and it was a good location. We would do it again!

If you have a smart phone, check out the HotelTonight app. I've been able to snag a few good deals with that for weekend trips.
