Someone--I think it was Mary Jo--had wondered about the flags and fire trucks on the freeway overpasses last week. I just found out it was a young fireman who had just returned from fighting fires in Northern California. He had died from a brain aneurism and he was being returned to Ventura County where he originally was from. His funeral will be Wednesday and tons of fire trucks from all over will be there.

Sad news. Our firefighters are some of our most brave and honorable public servants. My condolances to his family.

Fire fighters are such honorable people. anytime one of them dies it is another angel in heaven. Right now there is a huge fire in my county and there are at least 425 firefighters on the line. They come from all over to fight fires, and to help people they don't even know. I can think of no more noble profession than police officer, fire fighter and military personnal.

Thank you! I wish I could have taken a picture. Every overpass had trucks with their lights on, and some firefighters were standing on their trucks. We knew something was happening. My prayers to that firefighter and his family.

I agree. I have seen a couple of police processions when one of their own has fallen during duty, and it always moves me. It tugs at my heart, and I always say a prayer. I have great respect for our men in uniform.
