My father had his triple bypass surgery this morning, it went really well. The doctor told us he didn't even have to stop the heart and put him on the heart/lung machine, which that was great news to us. He just got off of the ventilator at 4:05pm. He is still asleep. Hopefully when we go and see him at 7:30pm he will be awake. The doctor told us that there were no complications during the surgery and that everything went as planned! He is expected to be in the hospital for 5 days. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts.

I luv disney cruise, fabulous news!!! Continuing the thoughts and prayers here!! He should be right as rain in no time at all!!

Finalized the excursions today!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I luv disney cruise,

Great news!! Hope he makes a quick recovery. He sounds like he isn't going to let anything keep him down for long.

We are renting a car in Grand Cayman to explore the island on our own. Anyone else with that same plan?

I've read soooooo many messages on making Palo's reservations, I am still not sure what night to schedule that. What are some thoughts on that?

Have a good evening...going to walk off the pounds....

T, J, C, E, and P (P is for princess, our precious 4lb. Pomeranian who is not able to join us on this trip and will be very sad while we are gone)

Hi Folks:wave:
Glad to hear "pops" is doing ok will keep up the thoughts and prayers :)

NervousNellie: Any clue on your name? :D Poms?
Interesting :D

Going to Doctor tonight, hopefully because I am going I will immediately feel better:p Hope so.

LROFL: I go with the TEMPS. Lets get our stories right, are we going to assign "Crew" duties? I want to be the hull hole fixerupper:D .....

On the Palo's night I think once we (if ever) get the rotations and theme nights from DCL we will have a better idea. This way you can go to the Magic Menu's and decide which night you do not want to do dinner in the restaurants. Unfurtunately DCL is holding this decision up for us and they do not seem to be budging. Maybe when Discruisinmommie gets back and makes the brunch ressies she can bug them and see if they tell her??????

Doing the GC rental as well.

CMATT: PHILS in last too :D

Hi Folks:wave:

WDWGoose: You leaving before us? either your timer or my timer is off by 16 minutes? Check yours will ya:D

that enough now stop playing or were you misbehavin???? Go to your room and no Disney Dreams either:mad:

Hi Folks:wave:
OK went the the doctor tonight. He said there is a very small chance I will be well enough to join everyone:D on the cruise. Mind you. he did not say which cruise...so anyone have another one planned yet?

Heres the diagnosis: Classic Food Poisoning (da!) no drugs, drink lots of gatorade (blue) ugh! Clear fluids, no dairy products for 3 days, no fried foods, no spicey foods (skip Mexico), bland foods baked potatoe no anything except chives:confused: Lots of water and I should feel better in 10-14 days so I have another 9 days to go. If longer, I get tested for Salmonella or chronic (sp) food poisoning...HELLO! Cannot wait!

Ok I'll get better if only to give CMATT his beer and do some more research for him? (wonder if he stays up at night thinking of things for me to do?):D

I noticed on some other threads we have some lurkers here:p Come on get on the keyboard and do the 20 keys per minute shuffle....too late for the Tshirts but you can still get in on the fun Ain't that right Buzz and Scott? I need a camera.. by the way Scott one of the reasons I went with the Canon... no adapter needed. But it is still a great product.

Bring it on CMATT no need to watch any sports here Flyers are losing, sixers are losing and Phillies are already in the tank, Eagles (beagles or turkeys) have fired all pro personnel and picked up three rookies....am tired of them all and my cousin won't take a job because Portland is still paying him a mil a year to sit on his butt in Texas:p ok Enough of this unhappy talk we ready to rock? And roll? let the party begin with Peanut butter and celery......

Hi All!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I've been pretty busy with getting the Countdown Timers going again. I think I've put about 20 - 25 hrs. into it already.

Currently, I've worked out a solution, Mr. JC has sent back initial feedback which I've since made the necessary modifications and I'm just waiting now... I'm keepin' my fingers crossed

What?!? The cruise is in 18 days?!? Where has the time gone? :)

Anyway, glad to hear your father is doing well, I Luv Disney... :D

See ya'll (dang, der's dat werd agin) onboard!

- Jim

P.S. I think a new rule should be that the people who are going on the same itenerary as you on the next cruise have to do all your bidding on this cruise. This works out since we're on the inaugural trip - no one for us to do that for! :D

Hi -

I will be on the inaugural with my family (DH and DD 7 and 5). Jennifer encouraged me to read this thread from another post (thanks for the positive words Jennifer!) I just finished reading this whole opus last night! It took forever, but what great information and fun. Coincidentally, as to jobs, I am a Director of Systems Analysis (another computer geek) and my husband is a former attorney who now stays home and home schools my kids. We arrive the day of the cruise (very early) so will not be staying over anywhere. Looking forward to a super trip. You all seem like great folks! Thanks again for the info.

JMF

Bunny mom, We got your pm from Ian to Casey. We've had a busy scouts weekend/week, so I haven't been able to sit down with him long enough to reply. DD also got strep throat Friday, so we're crossing our fingers the rest of us don't get it. 10 day antibiotic should have her well by 30 April! But if any of the rest of us start getting sore throats, we're ALL going on preventative antibiotics! :D :D I'm not letting a little strep get in the way of the vacation of our lives!!

Different subject, I can't remember who all has 8-10 year old DDs on this trip. As best I remember, MJASP does. Anyone have one interested in pm ing my DD? I plan to keep her down in the 8-9 year old group. She just turned 10 the end of March, and she's a little immature. There is NO WAY I was letting her have sign-out privileges! She also likes littler kids, so I think she'll do better as a "role model" for the younger ones (yeah, I can dream, can't I?)

Whoever asked about WDW before or after, we're going the 18th just for a commando day at the MK. We're driving over once we dock, going straight to the park, and when it closes (if we can stand up that long), we check in at the Old Country Inn & Suites near Downtown Disney. 12:00 Sunday return flight to DC, then 2 1/2 hour drive home!

17 more days till our flight to FL :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My mother just saw my dad this morning and he looks so much better. He was sitting up eating a bowl of cereal. He is in great spirits. The doctor also said we are taking him out of ICU today and putting him into a regular room. He should be coming home by the weekend. He is to start doing short walks today. The doctor also mentioned that he doesn't see any reason to keep him from going on the cruise, as long as he follows all the rules of what he can and can't do! :D :bounce: :Pinkbounc

My parents are so touched by all of your thoughts and prayers. They are looking forward to meeting all of you, me too.

Just continue to pray that things will continue to progress and that there won't be any set backs. :)

Welcome jmf32966 since you have read alllllll of the posts you relize what you are getting into. We do still have an XL and a couple of L shirts if you are interested in standing out like the rest of these guys.

I luv Disney - glad to hear you dad is soing so well we will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Joe - you must continue to get better, I do not know how this cruise could launch without our R&D guy. Besides Joanne would look a little funny celebrating your anniversary without you. I think we could get Zita to fix some jello and broth at Palo's just for you. She did get GarRy a PB&J sandwich last year she is really pretty awesome.

have packing to get done today as well as some spring cleaning so I better get off the boards.

See ya'll at the Port.

:earsgirl:  Vicki  :earsboy:

By the time the cruise comes around, half the ship will be DIS board members...ha...no worries about non-behaving kids here. We all promise to keep our kids in check...

How is everyone doing? According to MY timer we have 17 days and 22 hours until departure....OMG can you believe it. I am getting very hyped. Let us pray for good seas. I don't think I will get sea sick as I have been on tiny and medium sized boats before. Don't know about DH or DD...We shall see. I personally don't care to see anyone throw up on my voyage.

I luv Disney...I am soo happy that your father is doing well. That is great news that you can still go on the cruise. I guess you are probably going to skip the parks though as strenuous walking is out of the question.

Joe - get better ok...I will be coming up with some R&D for you soon since CMATT is slacking...

Peace out,
:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I have to say that I can't swear my kids won't misbehave. They're both ADHD, so they aren't always angels. But I do promise that if they misbehave, they're out of there! Wherever "there" is. Our main response is to remove them from the thing that's got them worked up. I certainly wouldn't subject other people to the problem.

Jennifer, yes it does like we've got a pretty good percentage of the boat on-line with us!

Different topic: Excursions! or not?

I decided for Cozumel that DD and I are going to take a taxi to the San Gerisimo ruins to get info for her school report while DS and DH go to the beach. We've got those long range walkie talkies, so when we're done, Beep, beep we call DH and see where they are. I want to try the mini-golf on Cozumel. I went over to the cruise critic board when DD had strep on Friday, and there's a lady over there "Mini-golf Sally" who apparently runs a putt-putt type thing on Cozumel. Sounds like fun, and she certainly seemed to be happy to provide info on her island. I'm sure that she gets lots of business because of it, but hey, that's why they call it capitalism, right :D

We booked the banana boat for DD and me on Castaway Cay. DH and DS are booked for 3:30 parasailing. Anybody think that will be a problem for DS to get back in time for the kids club rehearsal? The show is at 5:00, and rehearsal starts at 4:00. I can't cancel once we get on board. Thoughts???

For those who are interested, we will be porting near the locations of 3 Hard Rock Cafes.

I have compiled some information from their site as to the locations and times.

I always get the tee shirts and a cordial (read "shot") glass, so it's an excellent opportunity to add to my collection.

Anyway, I've attached the info below. The directions seem to be driving directions, but they should help in locating cross streets and such...

Oh Psiklops! Thanks for posting that. We have a friend that collects shot glasses, and specifically Hard Rock Cafe ones!

Shirley, if you're out there, is the one in Key West pretty close to the normal sightseeing things? We aren't doing any excursions there. We thought about just hopping on the Conch Train. Will that take us in the vicinity?
