Inaugural 3/31/12 Fantasy Cruise

OK we succumbed to the pressure we are in. Scott H and Lynn G stateroom 7104, early dining at this time.

I believe Pete and Faith are in as well. Now we need Connie and Chuck! Didn't hear if they are planning to go!

As Scott said, we will be joining you all. I think when he saw that we had points to carry over to next year, he decided that we could not let that happen, we are always borrowed into the next year - so now we are borrowing from next year!

I just have one outstanding request on the FB group that does not match up with a name on our cruise group list. If Cayla could please pm me, I can get you added to the group. Thanks!

With all the negative reviews folks have posted about the Dream recently, I thought I would share a different perspective.:thumbsup2 Here is a link to the review I posted on CC. Happy reading!:surfweb:

I could not agree more with Lisa, Thank You,

we avoided the shops when we saw a line of , our meal service was slow but hey it was a new ship a new system and new staff. We had fun.

Simply put it is what ya make it and we had a great cruise.

I know! It was sad the number of people who seemed to be looking for something to complain about. My understanding from others was that #s 1-5 were taken by platinum/concierge due to the high number of repeat cruisers.

My personal favourite was during the QandA with the head of disney parks (can't remember his name). A lady stood up and complained that there was a chip out of the paint on her door:rotfl: Ok, seriously....that is impacting your cruise experience how???:confused3

Seriously!?!??! :scared1: What part of the title including "parks" didn't she understand? He wasn't Karl Hotz. OY!!! So how much time did she spend looking for the pin holes in the upholstery and chips on the walls when she could have been out having fun anyway? ;)

Even if it was Karl Holz I wouldn't have wasted my time pointing a paint chip to him. Chips happen, even on a new ship.:lmao:

True, but at least talk to the right person about it. I would bet that it was her suitcase that caused that chip anyway. ;)

My understanding is they will be very similar.

Anybody heard any differences. I'm guessing dining rooms might be! Will there be an Aquaduck II?
According to Tom W (COO) the two ships will be sister ships like the Magic and Wonder. The layouts are identical, the decorations similar but not the same, and the dining rooms will have the same names except the Royal Palace - no he didn't tell the name (rats). The comments that were made during the platinum meet and greet with Tom ranged from the new itinaries (he wouldn't tell) to housekeeping issues. No the beds do NOT split, nor will they on the Fantasy (sigh). He did tell us there are a few (note - he meant 3 literally) rooms on each deck that are set up to split bed...but would not tell us the cabin numbers. (I am still trying to figure out those cabins...any info will help!)

lol...somehow I never thought you two would miss this one!

Now that I have made comments...let me introduce myself! I am Cayla, platinum cruiser...I sometimes travel with a friend named Michael who is not a Dis member but known by many. I prefer the long cruises (on a B2B2B this spring), and luckily get more than enough vacation time to allow it.

I work nights, so expect my posts to show up at 3am-ish...

Please include my on the FE list, and keep me in the loop about events!

Glad I am aboard...

As Scott said - the trip is what you make it...if you are looking for stuff to complain about you will find it! And a bad mood is contagious. I was in the line for Ducky to sign the litho, the peeps behind me were whining about not getting the RSP email. I had missed it, luckily Michael mentioned it to me and I got a hold of the information! So, later on I asked a friend who is cast about the email...I was told that EVERYONE was emailed, no matter who you booked through (AAA, CostCo, DCL, TA etc). When I did see the actual email I could see how I had deleted it, looked like spam! Well, I mentioned to the people in line about how I had missed it and ended up tracking it down through friends. Her comment? DCL should have made sure I got it...geesh...I had a wonderful time on the Dream, she is beautiful and her sister will be just as "Fantasy"tic (that is a word, right???):confused3

Yes, we are onboard the Fantasy for our 4th MV DCL Cruise. We are looking forward to seeing old and new friends again.

I don't think Chuck and Connie are booked as of yet. We will try to convince them to join us.

We also will be doing the FE on this cruise.

I keep reading everywhere that all the first boarding were concierge and platinum...I would like to say...I was number 2 in line...number 3 was a silver member, and number 4 was a new cruiser...folks need to get the fact right...the line was literally first come first serve.

Just repeating what the cms told me. I'm sure if you wereat the front of the line you got#1!

yep...I was at the port very very early...yes, we got #1 cards...as did the fifty or so people behind us. The B2B peeps were held outside concierge lounge and were allowed to board before the Concierge peeps were, then Concierge then us in the masses.

That's not the way it is supposed to be, though I wouldn't complain if I was given a #1 boarding card. Anyone who was a platinum or concierge guest had a right to be upset if they were not given one of the first cards since that is supposed to be a perk. We are looking forward to that after this cruise.

I just reread your post and if the concierge lounge was allowed to board before you and you were in the regular line to go through the ears then the concierge and platinum guests did board before everyone else since those are the ones permitted in the concierge lounge.
