Inaugural 3/31/12 Fantasy Cruise

After a little debating, we booked the Fantasy Maiden also. So far there is 4 of us, though my inlaws neighbors are considering booking.(Still waiting on their phone call so I can walk them through.)

2 quick questions since I havent read the entire thread. (Ill do that tom when Im at work).

Is there a list of whos going names/screen names etc. I remember seeing something about a Facebook page.

How many are staying the night before at 1 of the Port hotels, and any one interested in doing a dinner at 1 of the rest out there on Fri night? We did this on our Oct cruise and there was about 30 of us at Grills for dinner.

Welcome aboard!! We are Noel and John and the MV will be our 6th DCL cruise. Our next cruise will be the 2011 WBTA.

Since there were so many DIS cruisers on that particular cruise, the organizers of the lanyards handed out many of them at Downtown Disney the day before at a designated area.

I understand the constraints with kids in tow as we often take our GK's on trips. One time we stayed at the Radisson at the port as it also had a kitchen for all of us and we loved the pool.

As you said, we will see what people are doing as time gets closer. As for now, I am working on getting lanyards, making pins and planning my Madeira tour for the WBTA.

The list of DISers going with IDs, real names, kids & their ages & room numbers is being kept up to date on FB.

I'm assuming this list will also eventually end up on our private website. While I spend most of every day with my FB open, I understand that not everyone even HAS Facebook and it doesn't seem fair to DISers to make them check both places if they don't want to!

I understand some people not wanting their private info (last names, ages of kids, etc) to be displayed here on a public forum, but maybe we could at LEAST post the list of first names here just for those who don't or can't go back and forth?

how about a better solution....create the list on a private server with links to it from both sites...this way the information is not "public" on an open forum such as the Dis, and the non-facebook users can access it as well. A link could be put on the first post of this thread and people can bookmark it as well.

Most internet providers allow for online storage. The list could be created in excel (using the 2003 version for those who have not upgraded to the most recent version).

MY DH is working on a private site right now which we will host on our personal website. I hope he will have it done and ready for testing very soon. Any one who wants to join will have to send me either an email or PM here. The users will have a password, user name to sign in to the site.

very nice...excellent! I am not a fan of my personal info being all over the place...I realize that the web does not allow for many secrets, but I see no reason to provide that info on a platter!

Thank you. I agree with your philosophy which is rather like locks only keep honest people honest, but no sense not locking the door. DH loves to do this kind of stuff for fun. We always did the auctions sites for my youngest DD's school so we are quite familiar with doing sites like this type.

I have Office 2007 and the list is being updated in a Word document then copied to the doc on the FB account. I could email whoever has the website with updates for that when it is ready. I started the list to be able to keep track of everyone and to make sure the people who were asking to join the FB group were from this thread. I have no idea about the other stuff.

I think the FB site is perfect for everyday stuff and lots of chatting. What my DH is creating is a relatively secure site to hold all of the pics, planned trips etc. Does that make sense to you?

I understood that part. I know that I prefer chatting there with the ability to limit who has access to what you are posting than here when it comes to the details due to past experience.
