Inappropriate behavior at Gaydays....

What a wonderful accomplishment! Congratulations to you and your partner. :thumbsup2

Just back from DW... My hubby was very worried about seeing inappropriate behavior (which I told him to "get over it".) The only thing I saw that freaked me out... I saw two men holding hands and.... One of the men wasn't wearing shoes! I freaked out-as I always do when I see anyone at the theme parks without shoes. (It comes from a very nasty cut my friend got when I was little- I'll never go barefoot. I even wear slippers in my house.)
Actually we did see/hear something else that bothered us. We were in the Test Track que-after the preshow let out. There were two men and a little boy, we thought were together. My hubby, trying to be courteous, asked the one man if he wanted to get up with his partner (You know how crazy it gets to get in line after the preshow.) To which the guy replied, "CERTAINLY NOT!!! I AM NOT WITH THAT GUY!" My hubby looked at the guy and shook his head and said "Geesh, get over it!" I was proud of my hubby. And we talked about how that type of stuff must happen alot to gay people and how unfair it is. I think my hubby has a new understanding and appreciation of how hard is being gay in today's world.
*The most inappropriate behavior we seemed to see was the Big old families with 3-4 kids (all obese) screaming at each other. YIKES!!

Good gay move!!! :)

But you couldn't get 'em for me???

You wanna see my video from Senor frogs in Mexico ? :rotfl:

(We were on an Olivia cruise but it was the people from the Carnival cruise that were the inappropriate ones.....but hey I do have it on video)

OMG, this is just embarrassing!:eek::eek:

This is freaking me out a bit...

I'm in a bar with Disboard members and don't even realize it. And worse, never thought to ask.

Kevin and I were at the table right by the door - Kevin was wearing a white shirt and I was wearing a light green shirt. Who all was there from the boards?

If anyone knows Gates and / or "B" (guy with beard, tattoos), please send me a PM with their e-mail address.

Randall

I was going to start a post on the very same topic... I must say that the hype about Gay Days is completely unwarranted and unfounded. I attended Gay Days this year for the first year... I was so excited to do so....

It was really great! I cannot tell you the amazing feeling I had coming through the castle and seeing Main Street filled with Red Shirts.. I took some photos and will post them tonight.

I went alone.. but wasn't alone too long.. I met so many wonderful people... and did not see ONE inappropriate display... other than the group of very hetero males on a bus back to POP who though it appropriate to tell off-color jokes and drop the F-bomb every other word... with Children on the bus. It was completely repulsive.

There was some anti-gay hostility that I witnessed.. a few ruffled feathers... and a comment here or there that you just had to laugh off. But for the few of those bad moments.. those were greatly outnumbered by the warmth and kindness and just plain acceptance from the majority of the straight park goers.

I would DEFINITELY do Gay Days again....without hesitation.

Kathy

Thanks for reporting in!

Was Kevin's white shirt trimmed in a dark color on the neck and end of the sleeves? If so I have you guys on video.........well I probably still have you on video because I got one shot of the whole place soooooooooooo < evil thought > <G>

Just checking in after our first trip to GD. I don't think I saw a single inappropriate thing (and I was sooooo hoping ;-). Crowds in general were nowhere near what I was expecting (which was a relief), except we got to the bear meet WAY too late and I wasn't willing to wait in line for at least 1/2 hr. for country bear jamboree (yes, it would be much more enjoyable with a room full of bears, but I tend to be commando and avoid any line possible).

Missed the Rose & Crown episode and there was no way I was waiting at least a couple hours to get into Mannequin's on Thursday night. Had a VERY enjoyable hour at AC (KUNGALOOSH!) instead!! Didn't do any of the hard-ticket events (maybe next time). As others have said, it was absolutely great to see all the families and red shirts after the parade were impressive. We are definitely going again some year. The only time we got any kind of look was at Blizzard Beach on Tuesday. The friend who was traveling with us has pierced nipples and this one girl (probably about 10 years old), just could not stop staring at his nips.

hey Boston -- How long was kathy griffin's set? from the website, it looked to us like she was just hosting and not doing a lot of her own stand-up. we'd be willing to pay the money to see her in concert but weren't sure how much was her vs. Diva Donna.

PS. The high/low point of the trip for us was being stuck in TofT for 20 minutes as they repeatedly tried to bring the ride back online. We knew something was wrong when the elevator was doing drops but the house lights came on and the sound cut out while we were still going up and down. Then went down to the bottom (with the house lights on) and we sat at the bottom while an engineer (straight out of central casting, old skinny guy who mumbled a lot) kept talking to someone on a phone using the words "power up" and "online" a lot and occasionally would flip a switch by the phone. At least we weren't waiting up top.

I wasn't to sure if she would be hosting or what either , but it turned out to be about an hour ( maybe slightly more) Then they herded us up to Mickey's sorcerer's to see Donna Summer who went on late. I really felt like cattle they way they worked things at MGM this year. It was different from years past.
I still had a blast and walked home after the party ( back to BWV )

AND The Rose n Crown is a place I enjoy EVERY year we are at Gay Days , nothing else like it at WDW . I also was at 8Trax all night Thursday and don't remember a thing about it , I must have been fun , I mean had fun <G>

Awwwww.. thanks! :) I feel.. soooooo... Loved :)

Hey Back at you Vicki.. I know.. I have been missing in action..Sorry!! Haven't really had computer time!! But you are all very much in my heart!! : )

Kathy

I am straight, and I didn't witness any inappropriate behavior, but I did see some horrible shirts, such as "Hi, You'll do" and "sp-tters are qu-tters" (I'm not filling in the whole word cause of what boards we are on, but you get it.). My 6 year old niece asked my sister what that one meant.

Hi I am also straight. I was at Gay Days at the MK (I was also in red :rolleyes1 )... You guys rock.. you made the hot day go so much better. Some of your shirts made me and DH laugh out loud! Thank you! I also saw nothing inappropriate... some hand holding some small kisses but nothing big... but I really gotta say Thank you for your shirts..:rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Another straight girl here. I had so much fun at EPCOT on 6/3. I met many nice couples and their children. I always talk about different families to my boys, but we live in the suburbs of Houston. They don't see much diversity in their lives. I loved that they were able to meet other children that had two mommies or two daddies. I never saw anything inappropriate at all. I wish I had seen funny t-shirts, I love 'em.

I wish I had seen funny t-shirts, I love 'em.

I saw a straight guy the other day with a funny (although a bit inappropriate) shirt on. It said "I only date 10's but I'll take 2 5's."

And a gay hairdresser who is her only true friend! :rotfl2:

You made me spit Smirnoff Ice on my screen!:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

HEY! It's 5'oclock somewhere:surfweb:

I really enjoyed the tone of the OP's post. My family always travels the last week in May, first week in June and we've never had any problems or issues.
