In your experience, what character has given your kids (or YOU) the best interaction?

Our best experience was on our first trip w/ our oldest child. He was 4yo and having a bad day....sitting on a bench in Epcot pouting. Along came Chip and Dale.....who stole his sandal, sniffed it and fell over, miming that the smell of it knocked them out. Then, they began to draw a crowd w/ their antics....and were making everyone smell ds's sandal. It certainly cheered him up!

Some of the characters at Star Wars weekends were great too....particularly Boba Fett and Darth Maul! They were great at creating hilarious poses for photos!

The Queen of Hearts!!!!

I love villians and was wearing some of my villian pins when I went up to her for an autograph and photo (couldn't get hubby to get in the picture - he likes to be camara boy). Anyway, I go up to her and she grabs to autograph book and pen and is doing her "I'm better than you routine." I show her my pin of her and she throws down the autograph book & inkstick and begins hugging me and picking me up off of my feet. She even begins to act like she is wiping tears and gives ME a BOW! I loved it! It was so out of character for what you think the Queen of Hearts should be.!

In the photo my hubby took, I am being pulled in really close to the Queen and am only balanced on one foot!

I would definately say it has always been Dale. Dale is such a big flirt and without fail, will always try to steal me away from DH :)

Our worst experience with characters in WDW was in 2000, when I went to WDW with my family to meet a group of internet friends. We decided on a dinner with the Villians, because all the other character meals could not accomodate a party of our size. Let me just preface to say that we all came together on the internet because we all were due to have babies in March of 2000. This trip was in Oct. of 2000. Our babies were only 7-8 months old. Some of us had older children. Myself, I had a 2 yo and a 4 yo along with my 8 month old.

Let's just say, that the villians dinner was NOT the best idea we had. Once the Villians came out, the screaming began. That is fine, but there was one villian, Capt. Hook to be exact, my 2 yo DD was so scared, she had her hands over her face, and sitting on my husband's lap, if he had a uterus, she would of climb back in. Capt. Hook kept putting his face in her face, and every time she would pull her hands away from her face to check to see if he had gone, he would be right there. She was TERRIFIED. I asked him to please go entertain a child who WANTS to be entertained.

I was so mad. She would of been fine if he would of left our table alone. My husband said that is what they get paid for. I screamed at him "they get paid to entertain! Not scare the living bejeezes out of a 2yo."

Luckily, it did not traumatize her, our next trip to WDW was 7 months later, and as long as it was NOT a Villian, she went up to the character.

Another complaint I have is with Cinderella. We had breakfast in the castle, and my DD lives and breathes Cinderella. She was 4 at the time. We live in Massachusetts, and while Cindy was signing DD's autograph book, she asked where we were from, when we said Mass, Cindy exclaimed how she has been to Mass. and used to go to a place called Edaville Railroad. Well, we live near Edaville Railroad. So my daughter immediately turned to me in disbelief and said "Cinderella has been to Edaville?" I said, "yeah, I guess she likes train rides" The girl spoke put of character for a brief moment, a mistake I am sure, but they should be more careful when making small talk with the parents. JMO

Other than those two experiences, in all the trips we have taken, the characters are wonderful! I have a great group of pictures of Chip messing with my DD and DS at Chef Mickey's ...everytime he walked past our table, he would take their napkins and put them on top of their heads. They thought this was the funniest thing!

EDITED TO SAY...WHOOPS! I thought the title of the thread said your best (or worst) experience with a character! :o sorry!

OK...I have another good story. My DD does not remember her first meeting with Capt. Hook. Last year, my kids were in line to meet him and Smee, while PP and Wendy were behind them. PP and Hook & Smee were throwing insults at each other the whole time we were in line, but when it came time for Smee to sign my son's autograph book, PP grabbed it from his hands and wrote in it Smee is a COD. Well, my son thought that was hysterical! And the best part is, he has it in his book to look at forever!

Great thread!!!

I had great interaction with Capt. Hook. I had Tink on my shirt and must say he did not like that one bit! :p

Tigger spent ALOT of time with DS one year, really great!!

Then this summer at DL we had a great time with Huck Finn on Tom Sawyers island! He was drawing with chalk and DS and DD sat down to draw with him. DS drew a rocket ship and Huck wanted to know what that was, and if you flew it like a kite!
He also wanted to know how he kept his shoes on with out shoe laces. My DS said velcro, and Huck was totally confused!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE meeting characters! Even more than my kids sometimes!!

Chip and Dale. They always seem to showup everywhere. pirate:

This thread is making me feel all tingly! We went the first week of Jan back in 2002. The parks were dead and the rides were a walk-on. Anyway, my DD was 2 1/2 and had Toontown Fair to herself. Eyeore was precious with her as she was quite scared.

My DS was 5 months and really took a liking to Daisy Duck at Camp Minnie Mickey. Daisy was so excited to see a small baby and came right over to the stroller. My DS was cooing back, smiling and it was as if he was giving her a trip report.

The one that is funny but annoying is between my DH and Pluto in a deserted Dinorama. We had our cuddles and kissing him on the nose. we said our goodbyes but Pluto wanted to play. My DH made a stance with hands on hips and Pluto did it right back! The next thing I know, My DH is mock charging at PLuto and they are wrestling in front of me. My DH had poor Pluto in a headlock and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I did try to explain that there could have been a female under there, but he just looked at me amazed that he did anything wrong. I swear, The minute we set foot on WDW property in Jan we will be ejected!

Please keep this thread going, I am so enjoying all your magical moments

Very fun and crazy. My 10yr old was kinda of hanging back (acting cool) while I was trying to get all the younger kids in the same frame for a picture and Stitch pulled him over, mussed up his hair, tickled him, and pretend to pick his (my son's) nose! My too cool DS still talks about that!

The first incident happened several trips ago, when AP holders had a lounge in the Land in Epcot.

Those were the days... hangin' with Pluto at the free soda machine, watching the Florida State/UVA football game with Farmer Mickey...

When DH and I went on our honeymoon, the characters that gave us the best interaction were Mary Poppins, Captain Hook, Beast, and Pluto.
