All the paperwork is now done, and I'm the proud owner of 130 points at SSR. I've registered with dvcmember.com, but there are no points in the system for me.

The DVC operators keep saying to check back in a day or so, but it's been almost 2 weeks, and I'm beginning to worry.

Am I just impatient or paranoid, or could someone selling use points use them before the sale is finalized? I have a contract saying what I am suppose to get, but it hasn't appeared as of yet.

When we purchased resale a few months ago we were in the system one day and then about 3 days later our points arrived. IMHO I would call the agent that you bought the resale through just to follow up. It may be that there is just a large back log of information to be put into the system but 2 weeks is a little much. Keep following up with MS. I am sure there is someone else that you can contact with DVC but I do not know who that is. Someone with more experience as an owner may be able to direct you, Good Luck....

alamode,

When a member purchases point on the resale market, once the property closes, Disney enters the new members information in 2 separate sessions by 2 separate departments. First the new members name, address, etc. is entered into the DVC system. That information if forwarded to another department where the point are entered into the system.

This process usually takes 7 - 10 days after the day of closing. If you points are not in the system yet, I would call the broker that sold the membership to you. They can contact Disney and take care of the problem.

I would not worry about the points being used as that is highly unlikely. Most likely it is an accounting error that can be corrected.

Thanks. I've emailed the broker and asked her to check things out.

I'm not having buyers remorse, but it would be nice to have the points I paid for.

The other thing is that if Disney is busy with their own sales, they have a lower priority on processing resales. Which is understandable, I'd expect them to take care of their own revuenue source first. I don't know if layoffs hit the groups that processes these, but they may also be short staffed between staff reductions and vacation time.

Emailing the broker is good just so you are sure you don't slip through the cracks - it happens sometimes.

Also make sure you're looking at the correct Use Year at the bottom. I ran into this issue. I bought in June 2008 and under 2008, I wasn't seeing any points and was getting worried. Then I realized when I clicked to open 2009, there were all of the banked points I received and 2009's worth as well. Sounds stupid, but I made that mistake at first.

Thanks, but there are no points at all in any year. I have my real estate agent looking into it.

If you have your member number you can call and talk with member services. While inputting the contract and points are done it 2 steps 1-3 days should be all it takes for the points after the contract is in. If you have no points in any future years, even one which could not have yet been used (looking on the expanded version of your point information) then you file got “misplaced” between MS groups.

It may also be that the department that activates the points in the accounts is shorthanded at the moment due to vacations, illness, whatever.

I think contacting your broker would be the right thing to do, so you can at least get an explanation for the longer than normal delay.
