Happy New Year everyone!!

Jo, I am so proud of you. You will be smokin' me at the Princess!!! :goodvibes

wowza. It's Januaray 2nd. Time for a New Year, new leaf, and all that jazz.

I'm doing a little number crunching here. I've gained 8 pounds since Columbus Day. Eight. That means I've ingested 28,000 calories more than I've burned.:faint: For those of you who know me, you know my exercise habits. I'm still working out a minimum of 5 days a week, including training for the Princess Half. I'm burning a whole lot of calories each day. Which can only mean, I'm eating enough to sustain an entire village.

Today that stops. I feel like crap. My clothes don't fit. I'm puffy and bloated and suffering from general lethargy. Yes, life is busy. Yes, life is stressful. But that is absolutely no excuse for what I'm doing to myself here. Time for me to pull up the big girl pants and take back control. Expect to see daily goals from me in the morning and status reports at night. If for some reason I fail to post, please call me out :thanks: (I hereby give permission for you to borrow my whistle )

Today's goal: track all food honestly. (modest, but it's a start)

Nancy, you are not alone!!

My New Years goal is to train for the princess and NO Pop/ Soda at all until Disney. No "treats" til disney, I just filled my house with chicken, tuna, and veggies.. I hope to drop 10 pounds by 2/25/2010!

Here's to a new start!

My New Year's goal is to figure out a way to drop pounds slowly and permanently. My last few years, net, have been an utter fail, and I need to find something I can do and live with forever, even if means I lose more slowly.

I would like to lose 60 lbs by the end of the year. I accept that it won't be all at once, and that I need to find a way to learn how to drop it and keep it off while still living my life.

I have a training plan from my doctor and I am going to follow it even if it means I finish the Princess just ahead of the sweepers and walk the whole thing.

I also just dropped a bunch of cash on running supplies. 2 pairs of new shoes, a new running watch, and 2 super-duper sports bras (sigh).

I got all on ebay and running warehouse, so saved $47 each off local retail on the shoes, $100 on the watch, and $30 each on the bras, but still.

Kat, which watch did you get?

Can you tell me more about the sports bras, I need a good one, I hate that the sports bars I have smash my chest together. If I get a bra that is not so tight then "things" bounce up and down to much..
Sorry for the TIM.

Sorry for the TIM.

I wound up with the Garmin FR60W, the bundle which includes the HRM and foot pod. I got it for $102 shipped from ebay.

I do probably as much indoor training as I do outdoor training (maybe more), and I like the thought of being able to track all of it in one device. I researched it and it has a lot of good reviews as to the foot pod calibration and accuracy. It has the pace calculations and interval beeps and such that I was looking for, and I can also use the HRM/watch combo to get a heart rate calculated calorie burn for other workouts... elliptical, hockey, etc.

I may decide I want GPS eventually, but the foot pod is compatible with all Garmins, so at least that's not money wasted. I also have the GPS capability with my phone.

Sports bras. My favorite is the Champion #6242, this one:
http://www.championusa.com/Champion...-Champion/Women_PlusSize-Champion/CH6242.aspx

I have to have an underwire, and I am, well, let's just say not flat. It's worse the heavier I am, as well. This one keeps everything where it belongs, and didn't chafe even at 85-90 degrees and 12 miles.

You can sometimes get that bra at Kohl's, dept stores, or the Champion store (if you have one), if you want to try it on.

I got it on ebay for $12+4 shipping. :)

My body is screaming for sugar. And white carbs.

I'm giving it water.

It's pissed.

Kat, thanks for the info on the bar. Yep the more I weigh the "less flat" my
B@@BS are!! :lmao:
I looked up the bra and I could not find it on ebay, Kohls had one without underwire for $20.
I will keep looking.

Nancy, your posts crack me up.

OK Ladies, I have a few questions.

1. Any advise on what or how to pack for this trip? Shorts, Pants, Long Tshirts, Short T****s?

2. For the race itself, Short sleve tech, Long sleve tech over that, thow away sweat shirt?

3. Expo shopping. Should I expect to do alot of "ME" shopping at the expo

OMG, I CAN"T WAIT!!! I know back to having issues!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi gang,

Nancy - I am right there with you. My body is holding it's own little strike at the moment. It wants crap and I am giving it fruits and veggies. It does not like that at all. Guess it needs to learn how to deal.

Jo - for that time of year I would pack a little of everything. I wore a short sleeved tech tee and capris for the race. I had a throw away sweatshirt that I was ready to dump when I got to MK. A pair of thin gloves and my bondi band that covered my ears took care if the rest. At the expo I didn't buy too much but I did treat myself to a necklace that had two charms on it. One had 13.1 on it and the other was my initial. There was also a little 'jewel' on it fir my birthstone. That was the 'medal' that I can wear anywhere and my treat to myself. There were some cute tee shirts there as well so you can spend as little or as much as you want to. I have to admit, the expo freaked me out a bit. It made the whole thing real and my respond was 'oh sh**'. A few texts to Jesse and a nice chat with Nancy got me back. Walking down the red carpet and having our picture taken with the footmen was pretty cool. Enjoy it!

Not much going on here. Just getting ready for the week ahead.

quick drive by - I tracked. I came in right on target. :thumbsup2 My body is staging a revolt. I can't even begin to imagine what people in drug rehab go thru. Just kicking the sugar and I'm a hot mess.

Back in the a.m. to catch up and post a new goal!

I know I'm late-but happy new year everyone!!!!

This weekend was a much needed break. I'm still trying to catch up mentally with what's going on right now. The meds they gave me are DEFINITELY making a difference. I'm just not entirely sure if it's a good one or not. I'm going to have to see when I start eating my normal food again tomorrow.

I've eaten in the most disgusting way these last two weeks. I am actually looking forward to my "dull" breakfast of boiled egss and yogurt tomorrow.

I really wanted to start working out this week but I am still having a good amount of pain so it looks like that is a no-go. We'll have to see as the week progresses though.

I'm off to bed-I'm exhausted-I just wanted to drop by and let everyone know I am thinking of all of you and hope you are having a great start to your new year!!!

Have a great week!

Today's goal: track all food honestly. (modest, but it's a start)

I hear you Nancy!
I haven't been weighed (can't face it to be honest) but Im expecting a significant gain as over the Christmas period I have denied myself NOTHING. Anything I wanted to eat, I ate. The only saving grace is I haven't had a drink at all (alcohol no longer agrees with me and its not fun when you're on the floor hammered after 2 glasses of wine and everyone else is going strong!)

I feel bloated, tired and generally bleurgh. I start back at work tomorrow, which is when the healthy eating and exercise will start properly. WW starts again on Wednesday so I guess I'll find out then the full extent of what I've eaten! :scared1:

Glad the meds seem to be working Cathie

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS:

I don't generally make new years resolutions but this year I have one:

I'M GOING TO START RUNNING.

Yes. Me. Who can barely walk in a straight line.
I don't expect to become a marathon runner overnight, but I always told myself that I would run a half marathon before I turned 30....I'm 30 in August so I guess thats out, but I CAN start running...right?

My aim is to be able to actually RUN the Race For Life that is held every year. Its a Women only race that raises money for breast cancer. Ive done it twice before but always, always walked the course. This year, I will run it.

I think Im giving myself plenty of time...the race is held in June or July every year, so 6 months to get myself into shape and do something that resembles running - does that sound about right to you guys? Oh, the course that I will be running is only 3K.

Now if no-one minds I'll have plenty of questions for you. I've been on the Couch to 5K website which is great!

So here are my questions:

Running shoes - what brand do you guys use?
Clothing - what sort of things do you wear for outdoors running?

And most importantly - what music do you have on your ipods? I could do with some good 'get you moving' music.

Well, Ive babbled enough - hope everyone has a great day, and sorry for all the questions! :cool2:

Kelly, that is great that you want to start running, I started with c25K I loved it. I still run/ walk.

For the shoes you would have to go to a run store and have them fit you. The brand that works for me may not be good for the way you walk.

I have learned for these ladies do not wear cotton.

Happy Monday All.
Back To work ... YUCK:sick:
