In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Hi Everyone!

Where has the time gone? Christmas Eve already!

There was no WW this week, the weather was too bad for the WW leader to get there so no weigh in till after Christmas!

Yup so I have the stomach bug. Just as parents were picking up today(about a half hour before I get off of work) I got sick twice. I'm home now and in bed. So much for my plans to play hockey and drink tonight.

But I'm going to just tell myself I'll feel better soon and it's Christmas!

I feel your pain Meg, I started yesterday with cold/flu symptoms and went to bed at 4pm!
But - its Christmas soon!
Feel better soon

I have read back, I promise, but im too fuzzy to remember anything - even the quote button!

Green bean casserole. I have no idea what this is so Im going to google it! I do love green beans though, its a running joke in my family - no matter what meal I have, I have it with green beans! :rotfl:

Everyone - Hi

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve! :cool2:

And merry almost-Christmas everyone!

I'm with Kelly -too fuzzy to remember what I've just read, so forgive me if I miss something! :upsidedow

Meg - feel better.

Kelly - enjoy your snow whilst you have it.

Jo - I made oreo truffles too. OMG evil. Your kiddos must be absolutely beside themselves with anticipation by now!:santa:

Cathie - bags are reusable. That's my arguement. :thumbsup2

My crazy family is coming for dinner tonight. We'll do church services at 11:00pm, then tomorrow is delightful. It's whatever we want it to be. In our jammies all day, go nowhere. Best holiday ever. Sunday will be the huge gathering for Stephen's side of the family, mine will wait until New Years Day. I hope everyone is doing well, surviving the chaos of Christmas. I'm determined to get a workout in this morning before the final trip to the grocery store & liquor store....Have a great one everybody!

7 Miles done, 3 on the treadmill and 4 outside. More walking than running.
OMG, training in the winter is hard..I hope the miles get easier.

So I am in big trouble with my hubby.. Here is the story, skip it if you wish.

My step mom sent money to buy gifts for the girls. I get Alaina my 3 year old, dancing dora, I don't know if she will like it so a week or so after I get it we are in the store, I send DH down the isle with Alaina to see if she points it out. She does, so after that all she could say is how Santa is going to bring her dance dora. Today I tell the girls they can open the gift for Grandma in Florida. They were to open bean bag chairs and roller blades, same thing for each. I tell DH to grab the wrong gift and Alaina opens dora, not the roller blades. So now he is giving me major crap that I ruined her christmas cuz "santa" did not get her dora.

Tell me I am not the worst mom in the land???

Let me get this straight. You love your daughter, feed and clothe her, buy her what she wants, she likes it, and she opens it a day early? I think "worst mom in the world" is more than a little harsh.

Tell your husband to get over it already and add a little more love to the holiday and less hate. This is about a lot more than material things.

Oops, sorry about the soapbox!!

Meg, hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!! :goodvibes

Posting from my phone so sorry if it's short.

Jo- Please don't worry about that. Just tell your daughter grandma talked to Santa and let him know she got it or something along those lines. Santa does see all. Just enjoy your holiday.

I had lunch today with an old high school friend, a guy, who paid and made me laugh for the three hours we were together. What an amazing way to start my holiday. So glad the stomach bug passed quickly.

I'm off to my Granfather's for our big Italian Christmas Eve. All decked out and ready to have fun.

Merry Christmas Eve!:santa:

Happy Happy Birthday Kat! You are an amazing woman and I'm constantly inspired by you. Enjoy your day!

Meg, you must tell us more about the boy..

Just got back from sledding. Having such a nice day with NO WORK.
and the laundry is almost done!!! :laundy:

Well I'm back from one of my disappearing tricks again. A little late, but Happy Birthday Kat. Second off, Merry Christmas everyone.

Yesterday I drove from Atlanta to St. Louis (9 hours, so not bad) and drove right into quite a bit of snow, so this is my first white Christmas I believe, so it's pretty awesome looking outside and seeing the snow (of course, now i realize, I have to shovel snow so....less awesome lol)

Anyways, I'm not sure how much I'll get online during the holidays, but you all have a great time with friends and family and I should be back on a more consistent basis around the 29th.

Snowing here. First time in 63 years that this part of NC has seen snow on Christmas. Thankfully, we made it home from Charlotte about 30 min before it started snowing hard.

Hope everyone had a great day!! :goodvibes

Getting ready for Christmas-Fest round 2. Big day for us. Food, family, fun - all day, all night. And snow. They're calling for 12-18" here, upwards of 2 feet in some locations :scared1: I've been wanting some snow, it's true. But I didn't need THIS much  ah well.

I've gained a solid 5 pounds in the last week or two. I feel nasty. Looking forward to tomorrow and getting my food back under control. Time now for a super quick run before going to MIL's for the first go 'round of gifts for the day.

round 1 of gifts complete. Home to grab my appetizers (bacon wrapped scallops & stuffed mushrooms) then off to SIL's 'til they kick us out.

And it's snowing :woohoo: Happy Sunday all!

Wow Nancy, that is a lot of snow.

Kat, how did you do with the snow, has it stopped??

I have not gotten on the scale. I am more worried about getting my miles in.
yesterday I rested my legs, and today I did elliptical.

61 DAYS:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

We are supposed to get another minor round (maybe an inch at best), but it looks like the final total here is between 6 and 7 inches. I posted a pic on FB. :)

For us, that means the city shuts down for a day. D got the day off from work, as the mall had way shortened hours and he made the executive decision to close the store (with approval from his boss).

6 inches would just make rush hour suck around here, it has to be 10-12 inches to close schools, but its the cold weather that gets us. Last year they had a "snow day" because wind chil was 25 below.

So I just ate like a pig, I did very good yesterday but today.

Tomorrow is a new day, and next week is a new year!!

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope your holidays were all great! Mine were good. Spent both Christmas Eve and Christmas with various parts of the family. Lots of laughter and oy - lots of food. I think I am up a good five pounds at this point. Got a great workout in today so I have a grip on the wagon again. One day at a time right?

The snow is scheduled to hit here soon. First big storm of the year so the drive to work tomorrow should be insane! Whee...

Have a great night everyone!

What a crazy three days this has been but a good crazy. I got wonderful gifts and got to go up to the White Mountains in New Hampshire for yesterday and part of today. I dragged my cousins and our cameras out for a long walk in the woods. (We put tons of pictures up on facebook.) It was one of the really high points for me... being with my family out in nature. There was also a good amount of us girl cousins dancing when we got back to the hotel. We left today just in time to miss the snow really getting bad.

Jo, as for the guy.... I have butterflies but I'm afraid to jinx it. I don't have the best luck with guys recently and he's a great guy from my past. That usually means it will go wrong or we'll be just friends.

Just realized tomorrow is Monday, my las day off this week and my last day before I cut my hair. eeeeeek!
