In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Jo, I think we will be working something out as we get closer to the date. I have an Annual Pass, so I can get AP rates, which are almost always equal or better to any other discounts offered. However, they don't usually start offering them until about 2 months before. EE and I got a smoking deal last year, I think it was $75 a night with tax for Caribbean Beach.

I am planning on registering when I get back from Chicago.

I worked from home, went to a running club Happy Hour tonight, so my food for today is sort of messed up.

B: Mushroom/onion/canadian bacon omelette (70)
L: tuna wrap (120), wee mac & cheese (180)
S: 16 oz dos equis amber (200)
D: Popcorn (200), 3 bud light select 55s (165)

Total, 935. I may eat something more.
Water, 64 oz
Exercise, 2 miles on treadmill, slow and easy (24:45), 10 min warmup/cooldown walk, 60 crunches on ball

Kat, hope you had fun at happy hour!!

$75.00 plus tax WOW, that was a great deal!!!!

I did, actually!

It's amazing how much more confident I feel at this weight, to do things out of my comfort zone. I am still not thin, but I feel so much better than I did at the beginning of the year.

Oh, and I meant to type this out earlier and forgot... I know that it's been said to focus on either exercise or diet. I think that is as individual as your running socks or what gu works for you.

I have found that I have to focus on both, as they feed on each other. What I eat directly affects my exercise habits and I how I feel while doing it, and then the exercise helps keep me honest. Working my butt off makes me want to eat healthier and not erase all that work.

It doesn't work 100% of the time of course!

Kat, I think you are doing an amazing job. I am very inspired by your posts.
Umm hello you have done 2 1/2 marathons this year and you are about to do your 3rd. ( I count your training run of 14 miles!!!)

I do agree that eating and training go hand and hand. For me I can't focus on both to start. I have tried and it does not work. I am not going to eat all crazy, but I can not count points and miles at the same time. Once I have a grip on the miles than I know I can add in the diet.

I did not realize that was my issue until I was giving tha advice here.

(having a Lisa moment here) :lovestruc You have no idea how much this made me smile!

I couldn't agree more!

It's Friday. So many things I need to do, many fun things that I want to do - and trying to find the balance somewhere in there. First on my list of "need to's" is the gym.

I need to get my butt in gear in the food department. The exercise is OK, but I know I should be doing more. My gym has become so overcrowded that I am miserable there. I'm thinking that spending a bit more will help wig the crowds.

I just kicked that workouts butt! :thumbsup2 Seriously - one of the best "in gym" workouts I've had in a while. My hand/thumb has finally healed to the point where I can start lifting weights again and I simply feel awesome right now.

But, it's raining. I knew we were supposed to get showers, but I thought it would be later in the day. Hopefully they'll pass soon because they are mucking up my plans!

I HATE the overcrowded. Are you now gym shopping? I don't have many options where I am, unless I want to travel 30 minutes or more which I've already proven I won't do.

Yes, there is a really good one just a few minutes from home.

Nancy, awesome on the great workout!!

It's 100 today and 101 tomorrow. Bleah.

EE, I upgraded gyms in Jan, and it was a great decision for me. So many more options, and it is rarely crowded (even at 6PM on a weekday).

It added $20/more a month, but it's worth every penny.

Good luck finding one! Sometimes you can negogiate with gyms, esp at the end of the month when they are trying to fill quotas. I would try the freebie over the next few days, then next week go in and lay out what you are paying now and see what they will offer.

I will be in Chicago July 28th-Aug 2nd.

My goodness that came quckly.

Hey. Freaking out so I'm posting. .

:rotfl: This just killed me. :goodvibes

57 stitches later and I am finished. 5 had to be removed instead of 4.

Yeah. Done.

oh and I'm starting yet another new painting project. Nate's room. We picked the color scheme today, I'll go to Home Depot tomorrow for paint chips so we can make the final call. He leaves Sunday for a week, and that's the time to get it done. :thumbsup2

Colour?

Jesse killed my arms so it will be interesting if I can actually move them tomorrow.

Was it a new arm routine?

Lisa - WHERE are you today?

This is how tired and out of it I am. I was ike "what?". Oh Thursday. :lmao: It's a great sign that it didn't even enter my mind. Yeah!

I did it, I registered for the 1/2 :yet:

No turning back now!

I can not THANK YOU ALL enough. I have never done anything for myself. I have always wanted to, but I have put my girls and DH first always.
I have gained so much personal strengthen while being on this thread, Thank You.

I still have a long way to train, but as I said before I will run/walk, crawl, or inchworm to the finish if I have to.

Thank you for

giving an over weight mom of 2 myself esteem back. !!!!

Fantastic Jo!

And in other (random) news, I made myself the nicest, biggest salad for lunch today - for just 2 WW points! I used lettuce, spring onion, green pepper, celery, tomato, then I weighed some pasta for 1 WW point and threw in a can of WW tuna mayo with sweetcorn! It was so nice and I stayed full until I came home from work!

The reason for the salad was I went to the market near work and bought a huge bag of salad for just £1!! Thats about $1.50! It was so big I halved it with my mum and Ive still got enough for lots more salads!

Hope everyones having a great day! :cool2:

Of course we fancy a look. You look beautiful Kelly. Nice colour. I will lay off that cute boy on your arm. :goodvibes

How lovely Kat. So much more than any other measurement. That's wonderful. :surfweb:

Amiee and Kelly. I'm 43. Broke my glasses. Wear readers sometimes. For the love of God - what is with the minature photos. :surfweb:

Amiee - I want to take time to read your TR with intent. :goodvibes Will post later.

Oh yeah - ME? :lmao:

I had a wonderful time with my friend. We met at university - 22 years ago OUCH -and I was her maid of honour. So close friend. But I tell you all of my firends are like this - NO is not a word they often use with their children. People are way too child centric these days and care so much whether their children are "happy" every moment. No boundaries. When did this happen?

Let's just say I would be one wench of a mother. I would not care whether my child liked me. And they probably wouldn't. :lmao::rotfl: I believe in "no". I often say, "no - hmmm no and let me see no" to my nieces and nephews.

I honestly believe we are in a lot of trouble for the future. Mainly these children will struggle to be content in their future. And there will be a definite increase in sociopaths. :scared1: I'm not being comical. I'm VERY serious.

Okay, vent over. popcorn:: And I ADORE children.

Oh and I have pictures on fb of our time on my homepage. Kids and kids might be boring. But I'm very pleased that I had built in models at my disposal. Laughing. I'm very pleased with a couple of shots.

Happy Friday

Long busy day, no workout in.
Its hot 95*, storms on the way.

Girls had to get some shots for school today, but that did not slow them down a bit. When to Wal-Mart to get their Lunchboxes for school and they did not have any left, other than Toy Story. What gives, school is still a month away and all the lunchboxes are gone:sad2:

Just now and I starting to do my work from home work that I should of done all day, but I had a lot of work phone calls to make, so much so that my phone is dead and on charge.

Lisa, going on facebook now to see your pictures
Nancy, hows that painting going,
EE, are you feeling better
Kat, Hope the heat stays low for your group run tomorrow.
Meg, E, Kelly, Rhonda, I hope you all are well

Hanging in there but really want to take a bubble bath. I will be ready to be out of my jeans. Everybody is commenting that the area on my chest looks like a leaf.

Hi everyone.

Not much going on here today. Was in a training session for most of the day and am now becoming one with the couch for the night.

My new bike has arrived!!!! I am going to get fitted next week and then let the transition begin.

Lisa - the arm workout wasn't new, just a lot of working a muscle alternating pushing and pulling. Feeling good so all is well.

Jo - I am with you on getting my food under control. Why does it have to be so hard? Whoo hoo on the 1/2 registration. You are going to have an amazing experience.

EE - good luck gym hunting.

Hope everyone us doing well!
