In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

I just wanted to share with everyone my new motto. This week as I started going to the gym and I would walking think ugh... time to get sweaty and I drug myself in there thinking of every possible thing I could be doing instead, another phrase popped into my head Time to get SKINNY!!! I have know problem pushing myself when I think of it that way and what I will look and feel like when I lose my weight. So ladies if you need some motivation forget about being sweat and think about being skinny!!! :yay::yay::yay:

Good luck on finding your bargins tomarrow!!!

Hope you all are having a fabulous day!!!!! Fabulous. Can't wait to hear!

Lisa, I will not have this kind of talk about Mr Buble, I will not! :rotfl:

:lmao:

And for you - oh boy - details are coming on the trip. Yeah! Can't wait. So happy to have you back.

Liz - so nice to read you. And congrats on the loss! :thumbsup2

The Oprah taping? Did it turn out? I do want it. Thanks.

LISA!! Total goddess. Sorry about the family stuff.

Do you know I still go by every toy section in every store I have been in and look for them? Weird.

Kelly, welcome home! Can't wait to hear about the trip. Of course you watch NCIS. Of course!! I have just gotten into it, and the new one, LA. I also am starting to watch Criminal Minds. CSI:NY has had a good season so far, when does it start for you?

Hope everyone had a great holiday! I made it through the in-laws, with only one small snag (had to ask FIL not to smoke at the dinner table until I was done eating). We got back an hour or so ago and I washed the gray out of my hair. Exciting, eh?

One other downer... MIL had a bunch of cat scans last week because dr found something in her bloodwork that made the dr "uncomfortable". She also stepped up going over the results, from the middle of the month to Tues... not a good sign.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Yum. Pie scraps.

Kat - scary news. I tell you, medical issues are so magnified in my life and the lives of those I know. Must be that I'm getting older and so is everyone else.

Good food today. The best, BEST, is of course Grandma Jeans homemade noodles. So good. I wish I had a big bowl right now, lol.

Ok, off to the budget board to see what kind of deals are out there.

Hi gang...

HAPPY THANKSGVING!!!!

The day has been a good one. Spent the day cooking and cleaning and am now exhausted - but it was all worth it (except for the mashed potatoes - don't know what I screwed up there, but they would have been perfect spackle). Ate way too much stuffing, but I am over it now and ready to get back on track tomorrow. Celebrated my sister's birthday tonight and she was so giddy when she opened her Kindle. She has been playing with it all day. Too cute to see.

So let's see -

Kelly - welcome home!!! Can't wait to hear all about the trip.

Lisa - sending you hugs for you and your mom. It is not an easy road that you are on right now, but you are strong and you will get through this. In the meantime, enjoy the basketball...

Ronda - baking the pie crust scraps as a snack food is pure evil. The crust is the only reason I will eat pies.

Amy - I am so with you on the bring on the stuffing comment...

Amiee - hope your Thanksgiving was a good one.

Lyz - thanks for helping me to remember all of the things that I am thankful for this year. Reading your list spurred me to write my own (mentally anyways)

Erika - any new traditions start this year?

Kat - sending you hugs and good thoughts for your MIL

Liz - whoo hoo on the loss!!!! Hope your first Thanksgiving as hostess went well.

I am sure I am forgetting a few folks (blame the food induced coma), but I have thought of you all today. I am thankful that we have this place to come to for support, friendship and a good kick in the bummocks when needed.

So - now that the food fest is over - what is everyone doing tomorrow to work off the extra calories from today?

I'll be working and then heading to the gym for my butt kicking from Jesse and a cardio workout and I have a weigh in on Monday.

Paula, glad your sister loved her Kindle!! And that you enjoyed your stuffing (mmm, stuffing).

Thanks for the thoughts on MIL.

I think I am going to go join a gym tomorrow. :)

 Kat.

I was walking in my old neighbourhood and forgot to post this earlier. I took it just for you.

You have a grandma named Jean.

And I can't wait to hear about your finds. I not a shopper but I adore hearing about your shopping.

Hi gang...

.

I just loved this Paula.

Paula - I need help with something. Mindset help. I'm pretty sure I will be posting a gain for BL tomorrow. And I give it 100 times more energy than I give any loss in any kind of joy. It affects me too greatly.

We've been on BL for about ten or eleven weeks and this is my first week with a gain but it means a lot to me - as in too much focus.

Can you just explain to me - for about the tenth time:laughing: - how you look at the scale.

At this point I'm wondering that this is me for life - obsessing about it - hating the scale. And I should just except that.

I'm hoping to go two weeks or once a month once this BL ends.

Thanks.

Me too Paula.

Ok, CVS (drug store) apparently has gotten zhu zhu's in. Weird huh? I'm going there tomorrow to see if the have accessories. Chunk must have a car or a skateboard, no?

EriKa, just 16 more minutes of your 30's left!! Are you drinking?

Hit it boys! And a one and a two and a one two three....

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dearest Erika!
Happy Birthday to you!

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Erika!!!

I hope you have a fantastic day!!

Im still so tired! Going to watch New Moon tonight and I am beyond excited!!

I will post a mini trip report over the weekend with pictures for your viewing pleasure!

Good Morning!!!!!

Time to shake off the turkey / food induced coma and get your butts up and out of bed!!! OK - that last part is really for me since I am at work this dreary morning - no shopping for me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIKA!!!!!

Donna seemed to transition to 40 with no problems - here's hoping you do the same. If it is worth anything, there is no way in hell you look like your 40. You can still rock the 30's there sistah' just sayin...

Enjoy the big day!!!

To put it simply, the scale simply a tool that measures your weight at a given moment in time - that's it... Come back in an hour and it will likely tell you something different.

It does not define your life, your goals, your successes or your failures. It just gives you a number that we sometimes put way too much emphasis on.

For example, I hopped on the scale this morning and am up about a pound and a half, but I am not in the least bit depressed about it. I cooked a huge meal yesterday and enjoyed the fruits of my labor, but I considered the day a success because I stuck to my plan of limited 'tasting' while cooking and limited starchy foods being put on my plate besides some stuffing and some butternut squash. I have a plan to get right back on my regular eating plan today, drink lots of water and get my exercise in so that the pound and a half is not a permanent guest in my body. I prefer that it is kind of like the family that comes into town for a day or two and then leaves.

So - don't let the scale own you. Focus on the good choices you made this week and resolve to do more of that this week and you will be good. We beat ourselves up over so many things, do you really want to beat yourself up because your body is holding onto more water this week or the fact that you weighed yourself after you downed a quart / liter of water twenty minutes earlier? Seriously, the scale can read those minute little things but give your body an hour and that water is gone and so is the actual weight of the water. I read somewhere that the body can hold a few pounds of 'waste' in the intestines at any given time. That can skew the results too. (I know gross right?)

So I say again, the scale is a tool to measure the weight of something at that given time. That's it.

Judge your success on how you feel - not about the number, but how your body feels in general. That will give you a truer picture of where you are every time.

Hope this helps...

Happy birthday E! It's really the new 30.

Paula - good perspective on the scale.

If we can figure out how to mate Zhu Zhus we'll be rich, rich I tell 'ya! I guess though it depends on gestation... anything longer than three weeks and we'd never get them to market in time.

I am not shopping this morning. I will stimulate the economy after sunrise.

Food yesterday was pretty good. I didn't feel stuffed to the gills and I was hungry for breakfast. All good signs. DGF and I ran first thing yesterday morning. I love getting it off the list early. Such a feeling of accomplishment.

Ronda

Happy Birthday Erika!

Thank you Paula. That's exactly what I needed to hear this morning.

Thanksgiving was better than expected for me. Family ******* was practicially non-existant. I did tell my 17 y.o. nephew that he was being really annoying at one point, but other than that, everyone behaved really quite beautifully. Such a pleasant surprise! And of course, the food was outrageously awesome.

No Black Friday shopping plans for me - it's rainy and ick here, so I'm headed to the gym for my workout then clean, clean, clean, put up some Christmas lights and prepare a nice dinner for Stephen's family who are all coming over tonight. Yum.

WOW! What an amazing way to wake up! Thanks everyone. I truly am grateful for the life I have and for all of you. And I am 40 and freakin' FABULOUS, baby!

Still have SO much to comment on (still just STUNNED by Lisa and her Goddessness!) but we have to go get our tree right now (which means out to the back yard! Our land abuts the local Christmas Tree farm :rotfl2:, so we just walk across the yard, through the woods a bit and there we are), and then to my BIL and SIL's for yet another round of festivities. I should have some time this afternoon to get caught up. I already had my surprise 40th birthday party (last year), so just family stuff today, which is fine with me. I am wiped. out. (And how often do you hear me say that?)

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. It was nice here. Good food and good company, though a lot of work. My in-laws are still here as they can't drive in the dark and thus stayed overnight. Plus we have round two today.

But I will say that all of you and the international Great Zhu Zhu hunt was the main topic of discussion yesterday! (once the kids were out of the room, of course.) And I told Jeff the story about Chapter 1 of Zhu Zhu Gate and now he wants in on the action, too! :lmao: He just wants to stuff it to the guys who were shoving Grandma Meredith out of the way. Seriously, we had so many laughs about all of this! And the fact that Maddi and Kelly are both going to have one! Amazing!

More later--but thanks so much for all of the birthday wishes. :goodvibes

Birthday Girl - could you PM me a contact telephone # for the FedEX forms please and thank you.

Lyz - once I get that from Erika - Chunk will be on a town FedEX run. My gut says send me that secondary address that you mentioned in case that "box" does not exist here. I don't know why I'm talking in code. :lmao::rotfl: Do send me your parents address - my gut thinks it's best.

If I fail in town with our different system - Chunks will travel down to Toronto again and go straight to the Fed EX depot - I will in that area on Tuesday.

Chunk's intinerary - too funny.

I push their noses every night. :lmao: Glad they are in the boxes or I might wake up and find them attacked.

Do keep my up to date on the accessories. Our ToysRUs are still out from their first run but are expecting more.
