In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

That was what I was thinking. My uncle had a more colorful view about it, so he is bringing our food (he's a fabulous Cook btw). I'm bringing my slaw because I love it. As long as Uncle Art and Aunt Donna are there, I can handle it. My mom drives me crazy at this type of thing.

Hi! Loved catching up this morning!

Lisa--thanks for the mom comment. It really means a lot. I always try to do the right parenting thing, but I still worry about it, you know? And I'm sorry about your grandfather. And you are SO generous to let your mother remember him her way. I couldn't be that generous, I don't think.

Lyz--OMG, yes! A shopping TR! Loved it! And yes, you have to learn to text pics. Liz does it all the time. If she sees shoes and wants to show them to me or any other random thing. What is on your FL shopping list? And were are Bob and the girls when you shop there?

Jeff got home last night and we had *the* *best* *night*. So much fun. Kids were wild and off the wall to see him, so we had to let them get it all out of their system. But then we stayed up really late talking, drinking, catching up, etc. Very bonding. It was good--we needed it. (Lyz--remember when he came back from Singapore? Same type of night.) Anyway, here it is almost noon and he is still conked out. Super jet lag of epic proportions. Kids are out playing soccer in the yard and life is good.

I'll likely be offline most of the day, so I will check in manana!

Oh the shopping. :lmao: I just can't relate. I'm just not that girl. Wicked anyone?

Unfortunately. Maybe one day. There is time you know. :rotfl: Don't give up!

As for the shoe size and your children's shoe size - you can all be quiet now!!!!! I have no sympathy for ten. Either does Amy. (Amy hope you're having fun). And even Erika. None of you know the life of the outskirts of stocked shoes. As I've said in th past - if I hear "no but we have tens/we have a ten in that" one more time - because I've heard it hundreds of time - I'm going to jail. Straight.

Forgive me if I forget you. I'm out of it. I slept to noon. Noon!!!! WT H! Cause I'm coming down with something. Unfortunately not because I have jet lag. Oh to fly somewhere.

Hi Leanne!

Nancy - congratulations on your weight loss. I KNOW how huge that is when you are already at your weight. HUGE. :lovestruc

Paula - hope it's totally gone now. Especially with this beautiful weather. I assume you are having it too - with the temps at least - since Nancy is. We have sun and second day in the sixties here. We haven't even had a flurry at all. For Toronto that would be totally normal. It doesn't snow early or a lot in TO. But here Collingwood is ski resort area - snow belt. So when it comes it will come.

Amiee - don't wait for goal!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go out and buy yourself something beautiful. Really. Now.

Erika - thanks. It's important that you all celebrate your strengths in parenting. It's hard enough without celebrating your :lovestruc. All of you. :lovestruc

As for my mom - thanks - her little face just lights up when she talks about him - so she deserves to hold hiim like that. Especially at this point in her life. However, I'm far from perfect. I tend to ask a lot of questions from my parents lately about their families. I've learned from Jean's losses that if you don't ask you will never know some things when it's too late. Anyway when I ask about my grandparents I do add that he was kind of quiet like he didn't really like being a grandfather. Not as lovingly as I just wrote that. He used to barely say hi - wrestling was on TV. And quite possibly by me he was tired of grandchildren. I'm four from the last of many - my brother is first and like my mom adored him. As does my uncle when I get him reminiscing. So the man was loved - which is a good thing. And it was a long time ago and I'm fine but it was surprising how much comes up as an opposite to your strengths. It's like your strengths highlight all my sh!t Erika :lmao: But that's okay - that's a good thing. Maybe I'll be blessed some day. :lovestruc Yes I'm dreaming. I forget I'm 42 - a lot.

And enjoy your husband. :lmao::rotfl::lmao::lovestruc

Lyz - the whistle. The whistle. :lmao: Boy I smiled for your girls finds shopping. They must love this day, eh? Always nice to get something out of the blue. Nice day eh Mom?

Kat - no that wasn't a couch day for sure. Do you have a next WDW trip planned? Is it your race time?

When is your race again guys? I wish I could come and cheer you all on but my break is a week later - and I'll probably be there so tough. I will so HATE missing all of you and the fun times.

Kelly - how did hubby enjoy his NFL game last weekend? NFL Sunday.:surfweb: I'm trying to convince Jean to take a break since it's so beautiful. Maybe go up to Blue. The mountain - hill. :lmao: I should post pictures of the area.

Liz - miss you....

Ronda - where for art thou? And how are you?

Dawn - you've been off somewhat. How are you? I want a close up of your hair colour. I really like it.

DawnC - good to see you back.

Hey ladies!

Still going back and catching up.

I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend.

Mine has been lazy for the most part thus far, but a good kind of lazy :goodvibes Friday, despite the invitations for more game nights with friends, Carlos and I decided it was time for just a night in. So we went and had dinner at Cici's Pizza (do you all have this where you live? It's a pizza buffet and they have all these weird but good pizza types like mac and cheese, and chicken alfredo). I filled up an entire plate of salad before eating anything else so at least I had that as something healthy. Had some yummy pizza, and one of their cinnamon rolls, cuz they're super yummy. We decided we needed to at least walk some calories off so we went to Best Buy and walked the perimeter of the store twice before shopping. Then Carlos went through his usual rounds; the video games, movies, cds....I went for the laptops as I'm trying to buy one for school. I think I found the one I wanted. Carlos comes back and had something a little different than his usual.....the Simpsons version of Scene It! Went home and played....so fun.

Yesterday I spent the whole day building a castle topper to go on the castle wedding cake I'm doing in two weeks. It still has quite a ways to go. Going to be working on it again today. Then we went to a local Mexican restaraunt for dinner, and to the store. So, this is the best part of my weekend (spent in Walmart, who'da thunk?). Carlos and I have agreed to move in together, whereas before he was going to move out on his own for a little bit....the decision comes from the fact that neither of us can stand living with our parents anymore, and for me, it's just not mentally healthy. We both figure it'll be easier then, because we'll be saving money for it together, and not seperately, for two seperate apts. Plus, once we both had our apts, they'd probably be close to each other and we'd spend most our time together, but still paying two seperate rents....didn't make a lot of sense. Plus, I have a lot of stuff we need in storage already (what I didn't sell to pay off bills). So we are trying to get an idea right now of just how much we need to save to move out. So last night, we combed through the store, deciding what we needed to buy that I didn't have, and what of mine we wanted to replace. I honestly thought we were going to fight over bathroom/kitchen design stuff, but we actually compromised pretty well. We picked out a set for the bathroom that is all black blue and white. Very classic, but not boring :) I have a secret desire to want to be an interior designer, and get a lot of compliments on what I do with my space and so this is important to me lol. So we were walking through the area with picure frames etc, and they had these cheap little cardboard backed lithograph type pictures, for a buck. I started looking through one and found one of a cliff with a lighthouse on it, all blue and black and it said focus and had an inspirational message on it. I turned to Carlos and said "Look hunney, this would match the bathroom stuff, we should buy it for the bathroom" and he said "Yeah, and put it right over the toilet so people know to focus when they're pottying"....:lmao: That man o' mine. Oy. Anyway. It was a good night because we were both so lighthearted and flirty with each other and just so happy. Happy to be planning to get out of our parents' houses, for one, because if we're looking at prices (and we bought a few things) then that means it's not far off. For two, it just seemed like this was a step for us, and I so badly needed a step, since it felt like we have been stuck at one step for such a long time. Then, like the big-little kids we are, we bought strawberry soda and ice cream and had floats......lots of calories I know but I assure you they were partly worked off before the evening was over. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Lovely night. :)

Long story for a trip to the store, I know. I'm just excited! So many good things coming right now!

Lyz - came back on to say how I loved the phone shopping with Molli. :lmao: Loved that. I would love to see a pic of those shoes.

And Cathie!!!! Cathie!!!!! Hi. :lovestruc I knew someone was itching at me like "I'm here!". Haven't caught up on your weekend. Will do. I've convinced Jean it is far too beautiful for the second half of game one. Apparently game two and three MUST be seen though. So I'm off.

Hello everyone. I've been reading, but kind of offline. My parents came to stay for a couple of nights. They took Amtrak to Kansas City. Their visit was really nice. My mother had come to stay a while when Sue and I first got the house. My dad had been here once (to pick mom up) and left that same day. To host them and have them see us and our world was really nice.

I took Friday off and we went to the agriculture museum and hall of fame - yup, there IS one. We are farming people (wheat, soybeans, oats, grasses for seed and hay, cattle, pork and a few sheep). When they were young both of my parent's families kept chickens, too. My maternal grandfather spent his retirement restoring rusted hulks into tractors. He founded a local old tractor society and donated his collection to start it up. This museum was very similar and done on a grand scale. My dad really enjoyed looking at the exhibits and telling stories about his youth.

They left early Saturday morning. Sue and I have been doing weekend stuff. I ran four miles yesterday. We set the week's menu and shopped after church. I planted some tulip bulbs and fertilized the yard this afternoon. Sue went to the Y. The weather is stunning and we are looking for something to do outside. We may check out some nearby open houses.

Sue's birthday is around Christmas and I want to surprise her soon with a cake. By the time the day rolls around we are so sugared out that celebratory cake is a lost cause. I'll be back with a better description of the kind of icing soon. I need to get her talking about it ; )

Ronda

Back from the reunion. I recognized maybe 10 people other than my immediate family. We ended up making it a potluck style, lol. :lmao: I heard some grumblings from distant cousins about that.

You were not issued a whistle. If you have one, it is not an authorized whistle and will be confiscated. You may bark at people but no whistling.

Lyz has spoken...

I *adore* shopping. I did find some good buys. I'll give you a shopping trip report. (Feel free to ignore.) Never...
Madeline and I took off on 35 W and 40 minutes later we arrived at the Jeffersonville Outlet Malls. I found a great parking space. I always (really ALWAYS) have to park by a curb, at the back of any lot. To miniminze other idiots throwing open their doors and dinging my car. I find a spot right by a tree/shrub area and park as far left as possible. (I do this everywhere. Even in rental cars. It's how I roll.) The weather is AWESOME. 63 and sunny. Sweaters only. We use the potty and head to Nike. Molli wants some pink and black tennis shoes. She found some locally but they were $109. Ummm, yeah, don't think so. We head in and find a pair for $29, in her size 10 - which is hard to find. I hear you on this one... not an easy task despite what Lisa may say...I call her and she tells me how to text her a picture. Can't do it. I buy them and a black and pink basketball for Madeline, cause she asked sweetly and have I explained I enjoy buying things for my children? Next we head to the Gap. I find a striped sweater and look at Jeans. I think of Paula. aww... thanks :goodvibes The line to check out is L.O.N.G. so we go over to the kids area. I find a cute little pair of silver loafers for Maddi. We check out in the kids area right away cause there is no line. Score. Next we head to Coach. Ahhhhh. Now our Coach Outlet is VERY busy. They have to moniter how many people are in the store at one time do to the fire marshall. So it ends up being like getting into a bar with a velvet rope and a bouncer standing outside. The line wraps all down the sidewalk. As people come out, they let new people in. You either get in line or you walk by and scoff. I get in line. I'm not better than that. And frankly, I've decided I wouldn't want to be in there if they let everyone in at once. It's already a sea of humanity inside. Madeline isn't thrilled to be in line. She flutters all around whilst waiting. We get inside and I have to look at everything. I start on the right and work my way around. I find a black patent leather bag that makes me happy which is on sale and I have a 20% off coupon. Yeah Baby!!! We get in yet another line to pay. Oy! We check out and head to Justice (formerly known as Limited Two). I have a 40% off coupon here and find a pair of skinny jeans for Maddi and she purchases two webkinz with the $10 she got for her good report card. I'm not above bribery. Just sayin'. We are loaded down, tired and thirsty. We make our way to the end of the lot, pack up and head home. Yay!

sweet deals Lyz - sounds like a great day....

Paula - We are going to the National Cathedral. Darth Vader? Do tell.

There was a contest to add a gargoyle to the National Cathedral back in the 80's and a little boy won. His choice - Darth Vader you can check it out here... http://www.nationalcathedral.org/about/darthVader.shtml

Feeling a bit better today. Got a cardio workout in this afternoon that went well. Hopefully I didn't overdo and won't feel like total cr@p tomorrow. Loved reading about all of your weekend plans.

Off to catch up on some laundry and some work. Will check in later...

Thanks for the link Paula. Will check that out. I love Star Wars (old school version).

My uncle and aunt have been counting calories and losing alot of weight because of it. He loves his treats too and is an amazing cook. He took over the cooking duties when my aunt's hands started failing (arthritic). He always freezes blackberries for special occasions. Today was a special occasion! One of his nieces (the only one on his side of the family and who doesn't have a J name:rolleyes1) loves blackberries and he knows said niece is also trying to watch calories. So, guess what he did?!?

Wait for it...

Wait for it...

He made us a splenda based blackberry cobbler with a oat & nut topping. Amazing! Oh, oh, and he is going to calculate everything as far as carbs and calories go and send it to me for tracking. One more reason why I'm crazy about him.

Mmmmm, I've just recently realized I love blackberries. Yum.

 Glad it worked out! And blackberry cobbler? YUM!

Glad to hear you are on the mend Paula!

Fun day today. waaaay to much garlic with dinner. I think it's oozing out my pores :rolleyes1

I didn't even make the Dugger connection. Nope, just 3. Jamie, Jodie, & Jeannie.

lost some of my quotes...

Ronda - so nice you had a good visit with your parents. mmmmm...birthday cake! Is it going to be a surprise?

Cathie- sounds like you've made big plans! very exciting for you two.

Ronda

Good idea. So is this an icing she likes for you to have to ger her talking? Like a childhood recipe? When you get it, post it here.

Carlos and I have agreed to move in together,

Cathie, glad you had a lovely weekend with future plans made. Very exciting. By design, I think living with your parents once you're an adult is very hard. Supposed to be, so that people grow up and become independent. I'm not suggesting that you're not grown up, I realize you moved home under circumstances out of your control, but that doesn't make it any easier to be there.

Lyz - came back on to say how I loved the phone shopping with Molli. :lmao: Loved that. I would love to see a pic of those shoes.

She's not sure if she likes them. Too much white on the bottom. But I liked the price so...

As for my mom - thanks - her little face just lights up when she talks about him - so she deserves to hold hiim like that. Especially at this point in her life. However, I'm far from perfect. I agree with EriKa. You are so thoughtful. Even at your own expense. It's a big indicator of your character.

Lyz--OMG, yes! A shopping TR! Loved it! And yes, you have to learn to text pics. Liz does it all the time. If she sees shoes and wants to show them to me or any other random thing.

I got it to work. I had to download an MMS update or something like that. Pretty much, I have the world's stupidest smart phone. Like literally, it should already be able to text pictures. I hate my phone.

What is on your FL shopping list? And were are Bob and the girls when you shop there?

My shopping list:
-Resort specific things like magnets, beach towels...Disney is getting rid of resport specific merchandise so I need to buy now. Idiots.
-A charm bracelet for Mad. Mol has one and I have told Mad "when you're older". I've decided it's time. You know what I'm talking about. There are plexiglass displays everywhere with silver charms of everything imaginable.
-A Disney "pandora" charm for my bracelet. Not really pandora but they sell a line that will work.
-A sweat shirt that isn't grey. I have too many grey shirts.
-A big sweep of Tren D and The Character Premier to see what I cannot live without.

All I can think of off the top of my head.

Where will the children be? Hmmm, could be with me. Could stay and swim. Play it by ear.

Jeff got home last night and we had *the* *best* *night*. So much fun. Kids were wild and off the wall to see him, so we had to let them get it all out of their system. Yaaaay for wonderful homecoming. Happy for you.

:lmao: My contraband whistle. Such a rebel I am. Ok, for now I'll just bark. But if comes blows, the whistle comes out

Loved your outlet TR. OH - and I am not exactly petite. Maybe not quite as tall as Kat, but a smidge over 5' 7".

I thought you were a shorty like EriKa! How did I come to this thought?!?!?!

EE - I so yearn for the stair climber again. I miss it terribly :sad1:

Kat- you rocked the shopping too! Such great deals you found. Don't you just love the feeling that you've somehow beat the system?

The weather here today is GORGEOUS. Sadly I don't think I'll get too much "outside" time. Expecting to go to church soon, then Becca & I are going to do a cake decorating class this afternoon, and onto a 5:00 performance by one of her fellow voice students, followed by dinner at this awesome little Italian restaurant.

Sounds like a great day.

I I actually wound up being not lazy at all... hit Sam's Club, Ross, Kohl's, and a s**t-ton of grocery stores (looking for something specific).

We need a mattress to go w/ new bedroom furniture (someday I will post a pic), and I wanted to check out the ones at Sam's -- they are a ton cheaper than the retail stores.

I was mostly looking at underwear as mine are getting ratty, but I also found a $3 pair of jeans at Sam's and a $12 pair of khaki green cargo pants at Kohl's, had a 15% coupon.

Lyz, sounds like a great afternoon!! I LOVE outlet shopping. But you know me and purses, so Coach would have been a scoff!

Kat! Love the deals. You can sniff them out!

Hi to all.

Lyz, I want that last house. The one with the pool.

As to the deals and sniffing out, not so much... I just don't buy clothing/shoes unless I really, really need it, or it is a good deal ($15-20 or under).

Cathie, sounds like a good day! Sometimes you just need that blow-it-all-off and have fun together kind of day.

Lisa, you are an 11 right? My mom is an 11N, and will be 72 next year. She was 5'11" (has shrunk now that she is older). It was (and to some extent still is) so hard for her to find shoes that she usually buys one of every color if she finds one.

Ronda, when is Sue's birthday? I am Dec 24 so I feel her pain.

Everyone else,!!

It was beautiful here today... upper 70s and sunny. I went to the store/hockey in shorts and a t-shirt.

Today was mad cleaning day... we took everything out of fridge and pantry, threw out old stuff (a can of soup the expired in 2006??) and scrubbed before putting everything back. Then, to Sam's and Super-Wally-World to restock. Took a little too long, so I screeed into the driveway, threw everything out the back, and ran to hockey. When I got home we set up the new TV (did I mention we bought a new TV last week), which is a lovely, lovely thing.

Now I am going to watch bad TV and crash... hope everyone has a great week!!

Good evening ladies. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Erika - I am taking an online medical transcription class. I have worked in auto insurance for almost 10 years and am looking for a change. Something I may possibly be able to do from home so I can be more mobile. DH and I want to move out of California in the next couple of years so this will help.

Leanne - Welcome! I am fairly new as well and have been welcomed with open arms. Please share with us!

Cathie - Glad to see that things are coming together for you and Carlos. I'm glad that you guys spent a nice night in. Too often were are all so busy. It is so nice to just be able to do "nothing". I don't really remember what that feels like, but I'm sure I liked it! :rotfl:

I had a pretty good day today food-wise. DH made a homemade pizza for lunch (low-fat ingredients) during the game. WOOHOO PATRIOTS!! Since then I have had an apple and some cheese (YUM!) and am eating some pre-portioned trail mix now.

Love the house pics Lyz! Wow! Amazing!

Kat - What kind of TV did you get? A huge one??

lost some of my quotes...

Ronda - so nice you had a good visit with your parents. mmmmm...birthday cake! Is it going to be a surprise?

Cathie- sounds like you've made big plans! very exciting for you two.

We are making big plans and it's fabulous. I'm excited. Half because we're getting out of our parents' houses, and half because this move-in together has been 7 years in the making. Very exciting.

Good idea. So is this an icing she likes for you to have to ger her talking? Like a childhood recipe? When you get it, post it here.

It is hard. It's hard becuase it seems like they have gone straight back to right before I left, when I was 18, and picked up there. Very nosy, that kind of thing. Carlos has never left his parents' yet, since he had a lot of bills to pay off from school before he could leave, but his mom is SUPER nosy and very controlling sometimes so he has the same grievances I do. It is even harder because I have feel like I've grown up and became independant, but being home makes it hard to be that way. My family and I definitely get along when not living together.

Hi to all.

Lyz, I want that last house. The one with the pool.

Me too! I was showing it to Carlos saying THAT ONE, I want that one one day! And he said 'that's nice' lol

As to the deals and sniffing out, not so much... I just don't buy clothing/shoes unless I really, really need it, or it is a good deal ($15-20 or under).

Cathie, sounds like a good day! Sometimes you just need that blow-it-all-off and have fun together kind of day.

We really do need those kind of days sometimes. We call them our "let's remember why we like each other" type of days. Where we dont' bicker about any of the issues currently going on, and just spend time together because we love each other. I think it's a relationship saver, myself.

Lisa, you are an 11 right? My mom is an 11N, and will be 72 next year. She was 5'11" (has shrunk now that she is older). It was (and to some extent still is) so hard for her to find shoes that she usually buys one of every color if she finds one.

I guess I can't really chime in here since I generally wear anywhere from a 5-7 (depending on shoe brand) lol

Ronda, when is Sue's birthday? I am Dec 24 so I feel her pain.

Everyone else,!!

You have to wonder, because when you bought it, surely you had intentions of eating it, so how did it make it so long? and scrubbed before putting everything back. Then, to Sam's and Super-Wally-World to restock. Took a little too long, so I screeed into the driveway, threw everything out the back, and ran to hockey. Any particular reason you want to move from CA? (If you don't mind me asking)

Yeah, my "nothing" days are few and far in between since I started school. We finish our finals Dec. 12th and then I don't go back until the second week of Jan. so I am going to take that time to really enjoy my free time! THere's a cat shelter here in town that I love that I have really been wanting to go volunteer at for a while, that's definitely on the agenda!

I had a pretty good day today food-wise. DH made a homemade pizza for lunch (low-fat ingredients) during the game. WOOHOO PATRIOTS!! Since then I have had an apple and some cheese (YUM!) and am eating some pre-portioned trail mix now.

:wave2: Can I join in? I think I've been here before but I can't remember. I have tried time and time again to lose weight with no success. However, now it is a must!!! I have gained about 70 pounds since DH and I started dating and I am miserable :crazy2: We have recently started talking about trying to start a family next fall. Yes I know it's crazy and that's a long way off, but I have PCOS and my doc says it's neccessary to plan ahead b/c of getting everything in line and the biggest help/henderence whichever way you want to look at it is my weight or weightloss. So now that I've told you the details about myself, I will tell you the basics. I'm Leanne and 23 yo. I have a wonderful hubby for 1 1/2 years and a beautiful 4 legged baby. She is a 2 1/2 yo english springer spaniel. My overall goal is to lose 80lbs total. I've already lost about 15. I'm looking more at size then anything meaning right now I'm a size 16/18 and I want to get back into a 9/10 which is what I was when DH and I started dating. So far I have no specific program. I'm just trying to get into a routine of walking at least 4 days a week and watching what I eat. My reward for all of this is important I think too. My goal is to run in princess 1/2 marathon in 2011 and DH's "prize" for me is a Tiffany's necklace :cloud9: He knows how badly I want to lose weight and who can resist those little blue boxes. Well I have thus far but not much longer will I be :yay::yay::yay:

Welcome/welcome back! I am still sort of new here (well, I think. I dunno if I qualify as new here anymore haha) but I have really loved the way this place to be a home of sorts. Amazing people and the advice is spectacular.
