In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Morning!

EE--love the hair!

Lyz--OMG on Bob and the wallet moving! That would drive me insane! Does he have H1N1??

Kelly--enjoy your day!!

GORGEOUS morning on the lake. Heading out for a run now. Then have to finish winterizing, then the party. When oh when do I get to stop???

Ronda--not ignoring your post at all. Just thinking about it and trying to come up with a solution for you. I mean, it sounds like you have done everything you can possibly do.

And even though we are really on top of our kids about being in the neighbors' yards, I had to laugh about the sniper post on top of the shed. That is SO something my kids would do. Of course, I would also punish the heck out of them and make them apologize to the owners of said shed. So I'll think about this and get back to you...

He's sick and acting like it's his last 24 hours on earth. It might very well be.

Where are the flippin Tag Fairies! This is the best line of the whole 6 chapters I swear! :lmao:

Amiee - love the hair and so jealous. I just got a new haircut and color and I love it. It looks really good an full (stand back I complimented myself) but I just wish it would grow longer like yours. With curly hair it gets so knotted at the bootom and breaks so easy and it takes 6 inches to grow when wet and straight to actually gain an inch in look when it is dry and curly.

Had a Dis meet yesterday at The Mall of America and it was fun. We did a scavenger hunt (had to find 20 things and take a pic of it with both people in the party as well.) I had prizes to give away and I think a few of us will be doing a monthly dinner.

They had a Halloween night with costumes in the amusement park and I have to upload the pics to show you 2! Will not dissapoint at all!

Kelly - Do you guys do weights in the water and how often are your classes?

Guess what?

Jodi called me yesterday and she is joining the Y! :cool1::worship:
She had paid $20 to swim at a local hotel and wanted me to do that. I usually cave to anything but I said no. I have a Y membership I was wasting money at already and I know that her and I can never accomplish what we can with the motivation of others (helllooo....if I could how would I get this weight at all?) so I said no.

She said she had no money for the Y/it was too early in the morning, she lived out of town blah blah blah.

I said I get it but I need the Y for me and I am doing this for me. Not for friendship and bonding. This is for loosing weight and finding the me inside of this body. I did not feed into her concerns because like we all know and I am the master of - concerns are just excuses when you are not ready to make the switch for yourself. If it is something she wants she will. If not she wont and it is not mine to own.

My reality is that I need to stop building my life on starting tom and fooling myself I can do this without hard core changes and one is excersize for me. I need the Y. When I excersize I do not get tempted by the crud food as much. This was the first time I stood up for what I need and not making someone else feel good.

So she is now joining for a month. I hope she sticks with it for herself. I am doing this for me and I really can't wait to get in the water.

Yesterday Dan asked if it was okay he came and I said great. He then said well I might not be able to come a lot and I didn't want you to get used to me comming and then not go cause I wasn't there.

I looked at him like he had a 3rd eye. I said I was not going because of him I was going because of me. If he can make it great if he can't that is not going to affect me besides a carpool. I am losing this for me and choosing this for me. He is in charge of his weight loss or not.

I think he was in shock as well. It came accross as uncaring and IDGAS but ya know what, that is how I feel. All these times I have wanted a partner to work out with/ diet with , go to WW with etc. While that is nice, it also makes it easy to back out of that commitment when they do or you can make bad choices together and throw the momentum in the drink. So IDGAS if you are here or travelling cause I am going and if you can come great but this is Dawn doing something for Dawn. Not kids, not Dan not parents not friends. Just me and it feels really good to be selfish. I might just get used to this!

I think this might be the first time I have actually posted a string of excersize related/actual diet related on a WISH thread posts! :dance3:

Ronda - I forgot to say that I would absolutley talk with the parents. I know my kids are not perfect but there are things I do not know about and when I do - I can help change them.

If you do that and there is no change, then I would use different bolts/padlocks that you need a key to remove for the doors. Let them climb over if all they are doing is getting the balls great. If they break the fence, they will pay for it. Explain that to the parents as well.

I might also file a complaint with the police simply because if they get hurt on your property you have proof you have asked them not to be on it so your insurance isn't hit. Maybe call and ask your insurance agent about that and ask the police annonomously as well.

We had a situation like that and the kids left the gate open and it cost me over $300 to get the dogs from the pound. (it was a Friday night and could not pay the city till Monday so they sat in the pound over the weekend.) We could never prove who had opened the fence.

Someone asked about Silpada and it is going great. I am averaging over $300 per show of income so for 2-3 hours of work not bad money! :woohoo:

Nancy--remember we mad a pact! Once I get back we have to DEAL in a major way. You still on board?

hells yeah. I am so "off" I'm completely disgusted.

Yesterday when I came home two were scrambling back over the fence. Sue had to tell them to get off the roof of our shed this summer - great sniper nest don't you know.

I think it's time to be the blunt neighbor Ronda. I'd talk to both the kids and the parents, so there is no mistaking what your expectations are. This is your private property, not a public park. Climbing your fences and using your shed roof as their sniper post leave YOU in a very bad spot. If one of the kids gets injured on your property, you can be held liable. Even if you haven't given them permission to be there. It just can't happen. I have teenage boys too, and yes they play airsoft (I also insist on the biodegradable pellets....), yes it's fun but they must know the ground rules.

I'm in a foul mood tonight. I snapped at Bob. I snapped at Molli. It was funny, Maddi - who is usually attached to my side driving me insane - saw me holler at Molli and said, "Ok - night" and headed directly to her room. Bob is having all these fake emergencies - like *gasp* he couldn't see the time on the vcr - so he called me to the bedroom to move his wallet 3 inches to the left! OMG!!!! If that doesn't make you snap, I don't know what will, right. He's sick and acting like it's his last 24 hours on earth. It might very well be.

:lmao::lmao: Curious. Did he survive the night?

Heading off to church. Becca is getting Confirmed today. :woohoo:

:lmao::lmao: Curious. Did he survive the night?

He. Did.

E - Seriously, we assume he has H1N1 - and there is nothing we can do but ride it out - so we are. He's still working, has no choice. His headache and raw sore throat are the worst symptoms. He doens't have the fatigue Molli had. Madhatter and I are still good. I've got her gargling with salt water every day.

Heading off to church. Becca is getting Confirmed today. :woohoo:

Nancy - ????

DAWN!!!!----YOU ARE SO ON!!!! Makes me feel like being ON!

Kelly - whoot whoot - day to yourself. Oh and I agree, Amiee's hair DID look longer.

Thanks everybody on the hair comments. The lowlights are light auburn. It really pops in normal light. I've been growing it for a few months because I want big hair for my cousin's wedding. I plan on cutting about 5 inches off when I get around to it after.

Ronda - I'm coming up empty on solutions, so I will just leave it as good luck. I hope it can be resolved amicably, but it doesn't sound like that will work.

Lyz - Is Bob still living?

Lisa - You are so brave. I couldn't cut my own hair. It looks good.

Kelly - I adore it when you sophisticate us with adding u's when we dropped them.

Nancy - Confirmation Day! That's a big achievement. Around here, we get presents. Do you do that?

Dawn - Silpada sounds like it's doing well. That's some good money.

E - You have pulled out the fleece for your running right? Good luck getting the winterizing finished.

I am so far behind on my paper. I have a decent outline, just need to get motivated. It's nothing I have to research because my professor has asked for our opinions on the various faiths we have studied. I'm just being lazy. I'm really going to miss having this professor. This is the only class he teaches now(retired after 40 years), but he still plays a very active role at the University. Yes, he has thrown a few curve balls our way, but he is fair and interesting.

Madhatter! I love that nickname! I can't wait until the movie comes out in March.

Am I crazy to try to fit in a Spring Break trip? I have a 30% pin in a value resort that expires on 3/27 (me thinks). Our spring break is that week. I wouldn't be bringing anybody but my kids this time.

GORGEOUS morning on the lake. Heading out for a run now. Then have to finish winterizing, then the party. When oh when do I get to stop???

This may be a silly question, but what is Winterizing?

Kelly - Do you guys do weights in the water and how often are your classes?

The class is once a week, we don't use weights but they do have 'woggles' which are long pieces of circluar foam which you use as floats for the leg exercises and you also use them for the arm exercises - pushing the foam underwater - harder than it sounds!

Kelly - I adore it when you sophisticate us with adding u's when we dropped them.

:rotfl2: I read here so much that I always feel like Im spelling words wrong! :lmao:

Ronda - I don't have any advice really, my neighbours at one side are an elderly couple and the other side is a single guy on his own, no kiddos around really. I would possibly have a word with the parents and see how that goes. Good Luck

Im having a great day on my own (is it wrong that im enjoying time on my own so much! :rotfl:). Ive cleaned the house, done a few loads of washing and cut down my plants and hedges ready for my winter plants to go in. Now ive got nothing to do but relax! :lovestruc

I hope everyone is having a great day :upsidedow

We are really using the boards as our own little chat tonight aren't we, lol.

I'm in a cleaning frenzy this weekend. Off to clean the crown molding on the kitchen cabinets, then to bed.

Yes, on the first. Thanks Lyz. Tough night and you so entertained me. YOu and Meryl Streep.

So happy for you Dawn. Cause it all comes down to consistency.

As for the hair - mine is the same with the knots and growing out before down. But mine is not curly - just wavy.

Picture Dawn - is it a different tone of blond re: the colour change.

hells yeah. I am so "off" I'm completely disgusted.

I loved your comment to Dawn. That's this thread, eh?

Thanks everybody on the hair comments. The lowlights are light auburn. It really pops in normal light. I've been growing it for a few months because I want big hair for my cousin's wedding. I plan on cutting about 5 inches off when I get around to it after.

.

Why Amiee? It looks fantastic. :lovestruc

This may be a silly question, but what is Winterizing?

Preparing a cottage - or in Erika's case Lake House:love: love that word - for the winter. Making sure everything withstands the cold and snow. Pipes - windows etc. I don't know the ins and outs of course.

As for the "u" in words. I think I told you this - I'll be typing a warp speed and every single time my hands get to one of our words my hand's freeze. :sad2:

Good Morning Everyone!

Im home alone today! DH has gone down to London with his dad and brother to watch New England Patriots against Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Wembley! He loves American Football, always has, and New England are his team so he left the house this morning practically dancing! :cool1:

All day Sunday. All day. Monday night - of course.:lmao: And selected Thursdays. Yelling at the TV. Practising (you like the "s" Kelly:surfweb:) the songs and performing them at high volume with the tv and her voice. :sad2: Yelling when the variety of games on three channels is not enough. :lmao:

I get it later for The Amazing Race and she actually snuck out one day and bought a small TV - we argue about that because one TV is too much for mepopcorn:: - just so she can sit and still watch it. :dance3:

I LOVE bball. But football - although I throw a great spiral :woohoo: - is all hers.

Yep. Us too. Well the "Patriots are our team" thing, not the "we went to London to watch American Football" thing. Another win for Brady & Co. :thumbsup2

Nancy - ????

Lyz - ??? :lmao:

Yes, Becca was confirmed in church today. I know every church is different, but in ours they start in September and do a special course thru the fall where they learn about all the major world religions. Then in Jan. they start their Confirmation classes and basically follow the school year. Jan-June, then end of August- mid/late October. Typically they don't start this process until they are freshman in h.s., but we had some circumstances that well, made it a better choice for Becca to move up a year.

I am so far behind on my paper. I have a decent outline, just need to get motivated.

You better get crackin' missy  Seriously - hope it's going well.

WOGGLES?? :lmao: ok. That is hilarious. I think the things that you are talking about are called noodles over here. I think. I may have to google woggle. If I can stop giggling long enough...

Lisa - I'm just tired of the upkeep. I have to flat-iron or use a round brush, so that it doesn't look stringy.

Nancy - the paper is going, that's about it.

Finally able to get on the DIS again! For the past few days I could look at the most recent page, but nothing earlier would load and I couldn't post. Grrr.

Winding down after a busy busy weekend! MK, ZOOBOO and guppy ween.

Ended up with a tomorrow off too so i have a long cardio workout planned and grocery shopping! Woo-hoo! Dealing with some IT band issues and some shin splint pain. So I've been mixing in a bit more walking, biking elliptical along with my running. Its helping. New shoes are on the way too. Sacrificing a bit in the speed department, but I am getting all my workouts in. The mickey is coming up SO soon.:eek: I can't believe it.

I hope everyone has had a good Sunday!!

Take good care of yourself, Amy.

Amazing Race starts soon :woohoo: me, sofa, hot apple crisp and Amazing Race. Life is good

Oh I would love some apple crisp right now. Still pounding the keys. Yikes, tick tock tick tock.

OMG, my house is QUIET. It took For.Ev.Er tonight to get everyone settled in.

Ok, lots of old questions to be answered--

Lisa--Riley is 10. See? I don't ignore your questions!

Kelly--winterizing may be a New England or northern term here in the States. Most folks close their lake houses down for the winter (unless you ice fish, which we don't). So that means we have to pull the kayaks out and store them, pull the docks up out of the water and onto the yard (so they don't freeze when the lake freezes) and we have to drain all of the water out of the pipes (the toilet, the sinks, all of the pipes that run under the house, etc. all have to be drained. When the freezing temps come, the water in the pipes will freeze also, thus expanding and causing the pipes to burst...lots of damage and TONS of money to fix. So you have to drain the pipes before winter hits. Make sense?) We also take most everything except the furniture out of the house. All of the food products, all of the bedding, etc. It's a full week-end of work.

Next you'll be asking me what ice fishing is. :rotfl2: It's ok, I'm prepared! :lmao:

Nancy--CONGRATS on Becca's confirmation. That is a huge deal! Do you have any type of tradition in your family? A brunch or a party or anything? We are hoping that my dad will still be preaching when it is time for our kids to be confirmed so that he can participate.

Kat--you should be all checked in to DVC today, so I am expecting a post!

Lyz--:lmao: on MadHatter! And how does she handle the salt water gargle? And how are YOU feeling? Is Mol heading back to school?

FIL's birthday bash was nice. Not much more to say about that...it just was what it was.

I know I still owe the last 2 days of my TR. I'll probably get one up tonight. But first I have to get caught up with work...again!

Lisa - I'm just tired of the upkeep. I have to flat-iron or use a round brush, so that it doesn't look stringy.

That I understand completely. I rarely even use a blow dryer.

:lmao: on Riley's age. Thank you.

Here we use the word for cottages that you can use in the winter as well.

Nancy - I just watched AR. Interrupted at 8:22 for Jean to dance with Faith Hill of course. Anyway, what did you think?

And Lisa...I didn't forget you asked about The Sum of All Thrills. I'll get to it. And I am not surprised you didn't know about this. They are not talking about it AT ALL. Weird.
