Take good care of yourself, Amy.

Amazing Race starts soon :woohoo: me, sofa, hot apple crisp and Amazing Race. Life is good

So freakin jealous... I am still at work...

Hello Ladies! I am wondering if you mind another joining you all?

My name is Dawn, I am 34 and need to lose about 75 pounds. I have been a lurker for a while, mostly because I had back surgery about 3 weeks ago and was just released last week to return to work and am not released for exercise other than walking. (no excuses, just explanation) :goodvibes

I find everyone's posts most inspiring and see myself and my situation in many of your posts.

Hope to talk to you all very soon! :)

Hi Dawn and welcome! We have another Dawn, so can we call you DawnC? Everybody has to start somewhere and walking is a good place. Please feel free to tell us a little about yourself. Have you thought about a plan yet?

Hi Amiee! Thanks for the warm welcome.

Actually, "DawnC" would be great since that's my middle initial also.

I do have a plan, actually. Before my surgery, I started on WW. It was going well until the surgery which completely threw off my eating. First week of recovery, I ate next to nothing. The following week, naturally, I tried to make up for it by eating everything in site and sending my family to every fast food place imagineable to feed my "need" for food.

I also plan on walking during my lunch break starting this week, assuming the weather continues to cooperate. :thumbsup2 We have been having wonderful weather here in CA for the past week, here's to hoping it continues.

Welcome, Dawn! So glad to have you on board! If we can help, just let us know how.

Lyz--:lmao: on MadHatter! And how does she handle the salt water gargle? And how are YOU feeling? Is Mol heading back to school?

Maddi does good with the salt water. She doesn't want to be sick. Not sure if it's helping, but it can't hurt. I'm fine. My throat will be scratchy or my head will hurt and I feel panicked, like, OH NO, but then it seems to go away. Crossing my fingers.

Bob is going to Urgent Care tomorrow. We think he has strep throat. He is miserable. Didn't figure this out till tonight. Just kept thinking it was the flu.

Hello Ladies! I am wondering if you mind another joining you all?

DawnC - welcome. Hope you find inspiration here. You know how we work. Jump in.

I have the busiest week of my life coming up. Going to have to stay on top of my game.

Morning everyone!!!!
The class is once a week, we don't use weights but they do have 'woggles' which are long pieces of circluar foam which you use as floats for the leg exercises and you also use them for the arm exercises - pushing the foam underwater - harder than it sounds!

Yup those are noodles to us and my class does use the weights for the same purpose of pushing down the water. I am at the medium weight level for now - they have one above mine that is the equvalent of 8 pounds or so and I plan on being up to them by next month. Some people use the noodle for better balance and use them for the water weights as well. The weights I use look like actual dumbells but the ends are styrofoam.

:rotfl2: I read here so much that I always feel like Im spelling words wrong! :lmao:

So happy for you Dawn. Cause it all comes down to consistency.
Thank you.
As for the hair - mine is the same with the knots and growing out before down. But mine is not curly - just wavy.
Mine is very curly. Depending on product will give me differnt curl but very much ringlets.
Picture Dawn - is it a different tone of blond re: the colour change.

When I noticed how thin my hair was seeming a year ago I stopped going for the blond for a year to try and see if not using bleach made a difference. So it is not as blond as before at all and I miss it. She uses the lightener product as low as she can go without using bleach so in the summer it gets more blond with the sun but now the highlights are just a light brown. I will try and post a pic from the Dis Meet from this weekend.

Uploaded this one fast - will post a closer one later.

Nancy - Congrats to Becca and that is how most churches here do as well. Dan's oldest daughter is conformed next Sunday.
Finally able to get on the DIS again! For the past few days I could look at the most recent page, but nothing earlier would load and I couldn't post. Grrr.
That happened to me this week a few times. I had to delete history etc., shut down totally and re-start. Glad you are back.

Dawn C - Glad to have you here - I went back cause I thought I remembered your name from my TR - and I was glad I wasn't wrong! It is you! So glad you are here and I get the chance to know you better!

Morning! OMG, I have SO much to do in order to get caught up with work. And definitely not enough time to do it all!

Lyz--why so busy? Answer when you can.

Nancy--today is the day! Start with water, k? I have already had 36 ozs so that is a good start. My body will be shock when I try to give it a measly 1200-1500 calories! :rotfl2:

Nancy~your posting about apple crisp has pretty much made up my mind that I need to make some!

DawnC~WELCOME!!

I forgot to mention that I am doing a half marathon in 4 weeks. It fits into my training and at a minimum I will be able to get a long run done in a relatively fun way. It is at a state park, so some of it will be trail running, which will be new to me. Flat though of course since this is FL!!

Way to train Amy. Picking up your bling along the way!

I'm busy because: It's Halloween week.

Monday - Maddi starts gymnastics
Tuesday - Decorate Halloween Parade Float with 4H group
Wednesday - breakfast at school cause Maddi is October's C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N., work with the Merry Maids all day cleaning jobsite, Trick or Treating & Partying all evening
Thursday - again, cleaning at jobsite and community service project in the evening
Friday - no extras, whew
Saturday - run children around, Annual Halloween Parade in the evening

This is all in addition to my normal job of office manager/personal assistant to the *star* and housewife & mother of the year. Just sayin'.

Presentation is done... Rocked it...

Now I just want sleep, alcohol and chocolate but not necessarily in that order. Unfortunately, I have to catch up on everything that I missed at the job site while working on the proposal....

DawnC - welcome!!!!
Lyz - hang in there...

I'll put a proper post together once I get my thoughts back.

Ciao' for now...

Welcome DawnC! :) Excited to have you. This group is an amazing group who you'll find can be supportive in not just your weight loss journey but your life in general! Glad to have you, you're in a great place!!!!

Morning everyone.

I've been around. Really. Promise. Been reading. Some.....

I'll try to catch up tonight.

Busy busy busy weekend and this week is going to stay just as busy.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and is having a good day.

Hi!

Lyz I hope you survive! It is a busy week. :worship: I have an easy week thank goodness!

Hope the paparazzi leaves you alone with the *star hubster * and all! :cool2: :lmao:

Paula - glad it went well and I hope you stay away from the chocolate booze! ;)

Dan and I went this morning and it was good. Hard but good. The same lady I had last week does MWF but I hear the workout nazi is Tues. and Thurs. so I need a good night sleep tonight!

Need to put away groceries and I will check up with you all later!

Wow, Lyz...you are having an E & Nancy week! :rotfl2: I don't have too much until this week-end. Except getting caught up with work. And chaperoning Cam's field trip on Thursday. And Riley's on Tuesday. Crap! Looks like I DO have a crazy week after all! :rotfl2: And I truly didn't realize it until I just started typing it out and thinking about what is on the schedule for this week.

And by the way--STILL no costumes for the kids! We have NO idea what to do! I need EASY, at this point. And available. I usually have Halloween taken care of by Labor Day for just this reason. Help!

Aim--WOO HOO on the Half coming up! WTG!

Good morning ladies!

Lyz, Amy, Paula, Cathie -- Thanks so much for the warm welcomes! Hopefully I didn't forget anyone. You all are so wonderful and I feel like I am really going to do well here!

Dawn -- Yep, it's me from your TR. I have still been reading but I haven't been active. Most of my back recovery was lying down in bed and holding a laptop was NOT fun LOL. :rotfl:

Hopefully I will start my daily lunch walks today. Brought my shoes with me today and my walking buddy said we are definitely walking. :thumbsup2
The weather is supposed to start changing tomorrow so we will see if I am able to continue as often as I'd like. I know that some of you have weather far worse than mine, so I shouldn't complain. We are supposed to have wind gusts up to 45 mph tomorrow so we may have to pass. I'm definitely not light enough to blow away however :rotfl2:

Hope everyone has a great day!

DawnC

Is it possible Dan is more sexy than before to me? I am thinking so since we just found out the benefits for him as a cast member! :cool1::worship:

We just booked a room through him for December (same time we were going before) with 60% off resort and 50% off quick dining!:wizard:

We will also get at least 50% off rooms for the wedding so I just feel like I fell into a Pot o' Gold!

Decided to stay at AS Sports in December simply because the 50% off dining was on the QS and we want a few tables and figured we could put the money saved staying cheaper to that OOP.

Deciding on driving or flying still - depends on how Silpada keeps going!

Either way 6 days at Christmas :santa: time is awesome and knowing we can keep getting the great deals means we can plan a future stay at a deluxe (Poly ahemmm...cough...beg...wheez...:rolleyes1) and extend the time around the wedding!

This is a fabulous day!!! He better not get fired! :lmao::rotfl2:

Thursday – DTD/Resort Day

We usually have a couple of resort days built in. However, due to the really cool temps, we decided just one this trip…better park days than pool days this trip. Today was supposed to hit a high of 86* and no humidity, so that is a perfect pool day.

Slept in! Jeff and I alternated going for a run and getting some computer work done and then we headed for Downtown Disney at about 10:30.

015-2.jpg

Shopped all around the Marketplace and didn’t really find any must haves. Got a few stocking stuffers along the way, new earrings for Kelly’s newly pierced ears, but overall I was somewhat disappointed in the lack of new merchandise. However, I will say that there were LOTS of really cute Ts for women. But they all seemed to be fitted. I decided not buy any now, in favor of buying them in March when there for the Princess Half.

We had ADRs for T-Rex. I know, I know…loud and only mediocre food. But I booked it because last time we were here, it was actually one of our best meals. However, Jeff just didn’t want to deal with the noise level, and since things seemed to be so empty, we figured we would try our luck elsewhere even though we didn’t have a reservation. We have always wanted to eat at Fulton’s. It is PRICEY. But lunch is really reasonable PLUS DVCers get 30% off at lunch! So we checked on the wait…the place was EMPTY. Seriously, there were only 2 other tables and it was 12:30. Jeff and I had a lot to choose from, which was nice. Food was good with HUGE portions. And we liked the décor as well. But our service was AWFUL. Truly the worst service we had all week. She was certainly polite and friendly, but she was just nonexistent. And she brought our salad at the same time as our entrees. And once she delivered the food, we didn’t see her again. We needed water refills, bread refills, etc. and she was just nowhere to be found. When we were finally ready for our check , we flagged her down and told her we were ready to pay. Waited another 20 minutes. Seriously, if we didn’t have the kids with us, we would have walked out without paying. It was that ridiculous.

022-3.jpg

After lunch, we strolled (yes!) back to SSR for cocktails and pool time. No need to tell you how heavenly this was. Fruity umbrella and rum and drinks, soaking up the sun, watching the kids play—perfect.

028-1.jpg

They have a pool party every afternoon where the CMs have all sorts of games they play with the kids. We love this…our kids have a blast and we don’t have to worry about them for the hour. They all got prizes after each game (little water toys, etc.).

026-2.jpg

030-1.jpg

After the games, they held a dance party for the kids. And this is when Kathryn, the recreation CM, had Kelly help her lead all of the dances. Up in front of everyone. It was a riot. Kel was SO into it.

038-4.jpg

Later when I talked to Kathryn she was like, “Thank God Kelly was here! I always hate it when I don’t get a kid who is really good about leading things like that. She made my job so much easier and more fun!” We just laughed and said our standard line…that’s Kelly, making friends wherever she goes.
We must have stayed at the pool till about 7.

We weren’t hungry since lunch was so filling, so we just had some snacks in the villa before heading back over to the pool for the movie—outside on the big blow-up screen. We were all so relaxed. Back in the villa, it was time to start packing up! SAD!

Hi Everyone!

Just got back from the gym, DH is a workout slave driver! :rotfl2:

Erika - Winterizing makes sense now! Im going to google Ice fishing :cool1:
Still loving your TR - Riley has excellent taste in authors - I love James Patterson! Obviously I prefer the Adult Books but I have read the kids ones too!

DawnC - WELCOME!!! Im Kelly, but I actually do answer to anything! :rotfl: This really is a great group to join, jump right in and post often! Enjoy your walk!

So today at work I got the most AMAZING telephone call. You guys know I work in travel right? Well, years ago one of the main perks of the job was educational trips. A tour company would send you someplace and you'd do hotel visits, sightseeing - everything a customer would do but its free! Its hard work and not a holiday, but they are good fun!
Well lately educationals are very few and far between. But today I got a phone call offering me an educational place to.........FLORIDA!!!!! :cool1: Yep, on the 20th of November Im flying to Florida for 5 days, staying at the Universal Resort, doing the Universal theme parks - such an amazing opportunity! Im so excited I almost ran home from work!
