In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Welcome back Erika.

Reality bites. It seems like there should be some kind of law of ettiquite about "vacation buffers"

First. Guys!!!! I wouldn't want to answer the question. Or even ask it. But it was from a powerful place. And I'm very glad I worked through my fear of asking it.

I'm so tired of not feeling excited about goal or not finding it anywhere. And it is important to feel excited about goal. Losing weight and maintaining are hard enough without not feeling excitement. And you have to remember where I come from. I come from - because of issues - from a place where I feel out of the realm of normal life. And this is just another place to feel that way. I have to work that through. And I am.

Also, I'm sorry - I don't think that every one of you would not feel issues with your goal being somewhere close to 200 pounds and a size 12. I know it makes sense for my body. But it's hard. In the scheme of life - nothing of course. But regardless plays on me.

I just so hated feeling envious of other's goals and sizes again. And wanted to nip it in the butt.

Also, you have done me a tremendous service by answering such a subjective question. I now - honestly - feel more excitement about goal.

So hard week but great. Owned my total and actually smiling at a possible weight.

And yes - I am confident that I'll know when I get there. At my rate right now - late next year. :lmao:;):lovestruc

That pic, with the skinny jeans and the flowy top? Um, nothing. Ten lbs tops. TOPS. You are so freaking skinny legged in that pic!!!

BTW. Online tonight, if anyone wants to chat.

Oh I so wanted to AIM. But mine is not working at all.

Legs? WTH? My legs - I promise you I'm telling you the truth - are so far from slim.:lmao:

It's got to be because those jeans are loose. That's all I can think of. I look awful in tight jeans. Awful. Especially tight around the knees. I will never have those beautiful athletic knees.

You know, I hate that I answered that question! I may not like this choice tomorrow, but I'm not going to edit it out.

You.look.fabulous. Period, end of discussion. Look at your face. You look HAPPY. That's what it's all about. Happy with who you are, where you're at. It's so not about the number (I know. Preaching to the choir :rolleyes1). It's not. It's the "how do I feel". Well, Lisa, your expression tells me that you feel awesome right there. THAT'S where you should be.

I agree. Really. Did I just become pompous? :rotfl::lmao::rotfl: OMG. Thanks Nancy. (At 42 I can now admit that I'm photogenic - not such a great thing for real life. Laughing)

Oh yes I felt awesome right there. This picture is so funny. Some guy friend told me it is such a ________ me pose. :lmao: Something about the leg position. One, I don't know where guys get their thoughts. Lord have mercy. And that comment this spring sent me crying in therapy. Crying. Like how could he say that? Blah. Blah. Blah. Did I do something to bring that on? Yes, I have very serious issues. :rotfl::love: But it's a benchmark about how things have improved for me in the last six months. It would no longer send me crying into therapy. I hope. No, I know.

And two - I was feeling good. YOu know why?

Remember. Spontaneous moment. We veered off the highway somewhere around Savannah. Phoned MS. Decided "it's stil warm and I want to go to HHI". And booked ONE NIGHT :lmao::rotfl:. Spontaneous moments bring me nothing but joy. And Jean isn't so loving of it. But once I entice her over she loves the outcome.

Hey all. Spent the last two days cleaning a jobsite with my blessed sister who said "sure" when I asked for help!!!!! Exhaused. It's hard to work all day when your only used to "pretend work"! For reals.

I've read thru.

Dawn - awesomeness on the swim class. Who knew it'd be so much of a workout?!?!?! Oh, and I TOTALLY get wanting to be a certain size before your wedding. It's like the biggest thing going and if you can't get it under control for that, then what will you for? I TOTALLY get it.

EriKa - thoroughly enjoying your tr. Hope you made it home safely.

Much love and good thoughts to all of you!

Paula - shoot me an email if you need to unload some emotions. K!!!

Lisa. My lovely lovely Lisa. Lisa with the awesome red coat and spends 23 hours a day inside her head. I will tell you what I think. You look great at 215. Gosh that sounds like such a high number. How tall are you again? I agree, no need to lose more than 15 lbs, and going under 180 would be sickly. I don't like the sickly skinny look. Even if I could figure out how to lose weight again, I'd keep my curves. But, if you get to 180 and think you need to lose more, I reserve the right to reconsider. xxoo.

Oh my dearest cutie. How could you say that about me? 23 hours? What's wrong with you?

It's 23 hours and 45 minutes. And that includes sleep. :lmao:

And you love skinny. Have you seen Ms. Posh?

I'm between five nine and five ten. Somewhere.

Hi...home in Maine. UGH! Going up to the lake house tomorrow, so have to unpack and repack and get some work done. Plus the last 2 days of my TR. Lots, lots, lots to say.

LISA--I love both of those pics of you. FAB. And like Nancy said, I love the red coat pic not just because you look SO good in it, but because the red coat is so YOU. And you were so excited to buy it! It just makes me think of Happy Lisa.

On the total loss needed based on that picture, but you asked for honesty and I will honor your question, though I hate this question, too (because it IS so subjective), and the reality is that you don't NEED to lose any weight based on this pic. Holy great legs! You are doing your dad proud in that pictures! :rotfl2: But you asked for honesty, so I will answer. I would say maybe 15-ish pounds. Realize, though, that it is hard for me to estimate since I am the opposite of you and naturally short and small (other than my shoulders, but we all know that is a topic for another day ;), so on me 15 pounds is a HUGE difference. I don't think you need a huge difference. Also, I would never in a million years guess that you are 215 in that pic. I would guess something like 170. So there you go.

Ok, back to work for me. SO much to get caught up on. We have to winterize the lake house this week-end, have my FILs 80th birthday, a soccer tournament, and then get Jeff ready to head back to Asia. He leaves on Weds.

Can't wait for the TR. Can't wait. Look at the pic of the HM again. Notice how Kelly looks half way between petrified and America's Next Top Model pose? :lmao::rotfl::lmao::lovestruc It's not totally scared like Riley and Cammie.

Eighty? Holy Jesus. They did have him late. :rotfl:

How old is Riley Erika.

Keep my father's legs out of this conversation. You depress me.

Thanks everyone. Yes subjective. Yes difficult. But I've made inroads into a ridiculous thought process tonight.

Just an aside. My hair is so damaged right now - it's getting bloody close to dreads. Not joking. :scared1:

And you love skinny. Have you seen Ms. Posh?

Well, I do love Posh, but she is curvy. Hmmm, who can I tell you that is skanky skinny? Lindsey Lohan looks horrible. She used to be gorgous with her curves, her round young face. Now she looks like an old hag that smokes cigarettes in leu of eating.

So true. It's like the bones are bigger than the weight.

What the hE!! are you doing up? Are you a night owl? How do I not know that if it's true?

Posh is curvy? I'll have to take another look.

You remind me of another reason why not to go down too far. At my age I need fat in my face.

You know why I gained this summer - besides living in other's houses and eating too much and not keeping up my exercise in other's houses - my pants!!!

The pants I was wearing with Liz. I wore them ALL THE TIME. I know gross but so comfy. And they kept getting loose. So I thought "hey I'm losing" - wasn't on scale.

No. :rotfl: The pants were expanding with me. :lmao: Summer clothes - so not to be trusted. Bad clothes.

Anyway - face - I was loving it more. I don't like losing fat in my face. Nope. Not attractive with fair thin thin skin. Not.

Wednesday--EPCOT

So today was different from how we normally park tour. It is rope drop for us, as you know. And really, this isn’t a challenge. We are all up and going by 8, so to be at a park by 9 is not a challenge. But this year Jeff was at his conference till noon, plus we wanted to do F&W and that is an afternoon/evening event. So the plan was to sleep in, head to breakfast, pick Jeff up at his conference at noon and head over then.

For breakfast, the kids and I had 10:00 (see? LATE) ADRs for 1900 Park Fair. Kelly is a Pooh fanatic. Fell in love with him at first sight (really) at her first trip to the parks at age 18 months. And it has been a love affair ever since. Every time she has to have a surgery or more testing, she says “Poohy will get me through it.” Kills me. But I am off topic. Normally we do the character meal at Crystal Palace. But I didn’t want to do it again this year, and knowing we had a free morning, this seemed like a better option. Turned out great! The food over at the Grand Floridian is always good (lobster benedict, for crying out loud!). We saw Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Tigger and Pooh. Look at the picture on this child’s face!

014-1.jpg

Overall, we all really liked the breakfast. My kids love, love, love character interaction. I will be sad if they ever feel that they have outgrown it.
Off to pick up Jeff for the rest of the day. Got to Epcot at 12-ish and we were pleasantly surprised that it was not as crowded as we had feared. Had to get FPs for Soarin, of course, so we did that first. Then while Jeff got something to eat the kids and I did the Figment ride (NOT lame and don’t make fun of me! I ADORE Figment). Then over to the Seas with Nemo, then Spaceship Earth…I really do love the changes they have made to that ride. We basically walked on to all 3 rides.

020-3.jpg

Jeff joined us at this point and we had to watch the Jammitors. A trip to Epcot is not complete for my drummer boys without hanging with the Jammitors. We have seen them so many times that they KNOW us—by name!

016-1.jpg

Then decided we would at least check out the line for the new thrill ride, “The Sum of All Thrills.” I totally expected it to be over an hour since it just opened the week before. Surprise! 15 minute wait. They are not advertising it AT ALL, so I think that really helped. Sadly, Kelly didn’t meet the height requirements. So Riley, Cammie, and I did it will Jeff and Kel went and explored the rest of Innoventions. OMG, SO FUN. This is going to be a hit. It needs some tweaking, if you ask me, but they are definitely on to something. The kids liked it so much that we switched…Jeff took them again while Kelly and I got FPs for Test Track and then went and did the new money/piggy bank thing. SO CUTE. She adored it. Did it twice, in fact.

023-1.jpg

025-3.jpg

Plus we played with all of the other stuff in Innoventions (except the recycling thing…she was totally uninterested). But seriously, they have totally redone everything in those sections and it is great for younger kids. Kind of like a hands-on Children’s Museum, but Disneyfied.

Next, we decided to try another new thing…the Kim Possible experience where we do a scavenger hunt around World Showcase in order to save the world. The kids REALLY wanted to do this. So we signed up, got our “Kimmunicator” and were told to be in Norway at 2pm. Since it was a bit before 2, we decided to catch Honey I Shrunk the Audience. This was new for the kids because we always thought it might be too much (the whole snake thing, you know…). And you know, it WOULD have been fine. But there were two 13-ish girls sitting directly behind us who screamed and screamed and screamed bloody murder through the scene with the mice, the lion, and the snake. They really freaked Kelly out—pissed me off to no end.

Finally, it was time to head to WS and get down to business at F&W. The plan was to have the kids do the Kim Possible thing while Jeff and I strolled WS. This way, they had something to do while we hopped from kiosk to kiosk. Sadly, the Kim Possible thing isn’t quite what we expected. While the kids LOVED it (and we would do it again under different circumstances), it all takes place in just ONE country. Then you can go and do other countries after you finish the first one. So we spent a half hour in Norway doing the hunt—and again, it was cute—but it also meant that we were stuck in Norway and we couldn’t really do F&W. Jeff was NOT happy. The only thing he really wanted from this trip was to do F&W and it wasn’t working out how he had envisioned it.

Finally, we saved Norway from the bad guys and Jeff and I could go drinking. Which we did. And Jeff started to bounce back and get rid of his ugly mood. Overall, though, I would say that this year’s F&W is not as good as years past.

After walking WS three times,

and enjoying about 7 wines as well as some Sake in Japan (and yes, we got the sake glasses with our names written on them in Japanese), we decided we would head out by way of Soarin and Test Track, since we had FPs for both. Neither one disappointed, as always. I always love this Hidden Mickey in TT (or as Jeff calls it—a blatantly obvious Mickey)—

Back to SSR for a movie and bed.

No pool today! Shocking!

What the hE!! are you doing up? Are you a night owl? How do I not know that if it's true?

Total Night Owl. Hate the morning. Hardest part of my day. Well second hardest part. The first hardest part is trying to figure out what's for dinner!

EriKa - what is the piggy bank activity? She get to keep that big ol bank?

Side note - my delete button isn't working! Didn't realize how much I used it till now.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: AND....the lovely role model that she is, apparently has been taking her 15 y.o. sister out PARTYING. Yep. Way to go, Lindsey. Rehab taught you a lot.

No. :rotfl: The pants were expanding with me. :lmao: Summer clothes - so not to be trusted. Bad clothes.

 So true.

(Ok - totally OT. There's a guy on tv right now, on our local news. Looks exactly like Fred Flinstone. Poor guy :rotfl2:)

ugh. Me too. HATE figuring out what to make for dinner. Don't mind the actually cooking part, but I get so.sick. of being the one who has to decide the menu every night.

Erika - Welcome home! Lovely weather to return to :headache: Love the TR. So - was the whole "stuck in Norway without drinks" the Wednesday drama that you had previously elluded to?

Omg Lyz! Podcast. Between this and paradiso 37 I think you need to turn in your card!!! They are always talking about this activity!!! No she didn't get to keep the bank. But I swear Mad would love it...totally age appropriate. (Em too) as long as you have extra time in Epcot and/or have done everything enough that you want to try new things.

In the car on my way up to the lake house.

Morning all!

Laundry today and then a Dis Meet at the Mall of America I organized. Last night had dinner with a couple from the cities and it was a great time. Really nice people and they will be at the MOA today also so looking forward to seeing them again.

They each have lost over 60 pounds by changing eating and walking so it is good to connect with another couple who is like minded.

Dan is back but leaves Tuesday again for 4-5 days then he is done with traveling.

I am off to find a dryer this weekend and oother than that - not a whole lot else!

Actually giddy about the Y on Monday but I will tell ya my arms are sore today!

Thanks for saying the price is fair - I will do the first three for sure and see what I can do about adding more. Money is a huge factor in that and it needs to be figured in if I can.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Exactly. Like PLEASE, picky husband, just state what you want and I'd be happy to fix it for you. But making me guess what you want

Ok. I freely admit, I listen to the podcast whilst working. So I might be glossing over some things.

Dawn - DIS meet you arranged? Neat-O.

Kelly - I used whilst - you see that?:goodvibes

Paula - shoot me an email if you need to unload some emotions. K!!!

Lyz - thanks for the offer. I will write more about what is going on in my head once things calm down a bit with the work stuff. (two days and counting until the big presentation and then I should be able to breathe again) I felt bad because I totally unloaded on Jesse yesterday during my workout. He was a bit taken aback because he is not used to seeing me lose it, but god love em, Jesse just took it all in and actually offered some useful advice. I went through the various rings of hell that I feel like I am in at the moment (work cr@p, weight loss cr@p, love life cr@p, etc) so we'll see how that plays out though.

I promise, I'll explain more if people are interested, but I need to get back to work on this presentation. Yes, it is 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon and I am in my office (can I just say how creepy the Capitol is when it is empty) and will be here for the better part of the day. Oh well...

On the plus side, got my long walk in on the treadmill today and totally rocked it. 3.6 miles in 55 minutes at a low incline. Whew...

I'm back! My computer is among the living again and it only cost me a case of beer. I can't wait to catch up. Be back soon!

Checking in from the lake house. It is pouring rain and freezing cold! OMG, was I really in FL YESTERDAY?!?!

We pulled the dock out--yes, in the rain, and it was SUCH a cold, foul, mess. Now we are just winterizing the rest of the place. We'll watch a movie tonight and have family game night and then hit FIL's birthday lunch tomorrow. OMG, Monday can't get here fast enough for me! :rotfl2: I will only slow down once I am back at work full time! :scared1:

I am with you, Lyz, on dinner being my biggest stress factor of the day. But I have a solution for you. I'll e-mail it to you since it is so off topic here. But I am counting--only 3 more dinners to cook till J leaves for Asia. SO sad!

Paula--yes, unload. Whatever you need. Awesome job on the TM! Is there a reason you are training on the TM instead of walking outside? What do you listen to when walking? I have loads of suggestions.

Lyz--are you walking to B&B still?

Liz--job update?

Kat--check in once you are at DVC.

Nancy--remember we mad a pact! Once I get back we have to DEAL in a major way. You still on board?

Paula--yes, unload. Whatever you need. Awesome job on the TM! Is there a reason you are training on the TM instead of walking outside? What do you listen to when walking? I have loads of suggestions.

Welcome back Erika. Sorry to hear the weather is so crappy at the lake, but it is no picnic here either.

I have been doing the treadmill for a few reasons. First and foremost is a scheduling thing since I can't get out to walk when it is dayight, so I have been doing my short walks on the treadmill at the gym. My plan is to do the long walks outside, but it was really rainy and yucky out today so inside I went (yes, I am a bit of a wuss that way). Secondly, I needed to get real idea of the pace I should be at and the treadmill has helped with that. I am getting more comfortable with the feel of the pace I am at, but am a bit afraid that when I take it to the streets I will naturally slow down. Need to get over that I guess.

As for music, I have a playlist of a bunch of stuff that I have been listening to. It is full of stuff from Green Day, Disturbed, Hinder, some pop like Pink, Katy Perry, etc. It is all based on the beat and I do better with driving beats as opposed to fluffy stuff (if that makes any sense). As an added bonus, I usually do my long walks on Sunday when the football games are on so I can zone out and watch that while I am walking and listening to my music. Last week, I started yelling at the TV because the Giants were playing so badly and got a few stares - oops...

Suggestions are always welcome so bring them on.

I am cranking through my to do pile and am finishing up the presentation work. It has been an extremely productive day!!! :woohoo:

I'm here to vent about the neighborhood kids. Bear with me. Maybe I just need to get this out of my system.

I love kids. I'm impressed that the ones I'm going to complain about are playing in the yard and not calcifying on a sofa somewhere. We moved to this house a bit over two years ago. One of our first projects was to fence the back yard. It was already fenced on two sides (neighbor's fences). We want to be able to open the back door and send the dogs out.

I approached the neighbor to the west and said we can put ours up right next to yours or remove yours (chain link) and put up ours (six foot cedar). He said take it out. There were old chain link posts on the north side of the lot. Those neighbors have an elevated fort right on the property line. I went to him and said, we're pulling out the old posts. Where the fort prevents us from putting the pretty side out, we'll put the pretty side in. Somewhere down the road we can flip that section if we need to.

We have a shed that sits in the corner opposite their fort. It's a couple feet from the east line. We put up a narrow gate. The fence that borders our driveway is four foot picket.

This is an old neighborhood. The lots are small. The west side yard is only a few feet wide. There is no east side yard. That's where the driveway is. The kid to the west plays basketball in the driveway. The goal is right near the line. We found basketballs in the yard all the time. He has about five. No big deal. He'd come over and get them. We told him that was fine. Just be sure to latch the gate next to the garage.

Last spring Sue let the pups out before bed. Stretch the dachshund wasn't waiting at the door. She went to the yard. The gate was open and he was ambling down the driveway. We considered a lock, but the balls were going to keep coming over. I talked to the west neighbors and told them we're putting up a net. Cool with them. I'm really proud of our net, BTW.

The kids to the north play all manner of sports. They launch balls in the yard. They also shoot each other with airsoft guns. They climb over the fence. They come through the small, narrow gate and leave it open. There's an extra wide gate at the end of the drive way. They leave it open. We put caribiner clips in the latches. Either they disappear or I find them in the yard.

I've found all of them open this week. Yesterday when I came home two were scrambling back over the fence. Sue had to tell them to get off the roof of our shed this summer - great sniper nest don't you know.

I could put a net up to the north. I could put padlocks on all the gates. I could talk to the kids. I could talk to the parents.

What makes me SO MAD is that I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING! I don't like confrontation. I don't want to worry about these hooligans for the next ten years. I don't need the trouble.

If you've made it this far suggestions would be appreciated. Commiseration would be okay, too.

I feel some better.

Ronda

Erika ~ loving the ear piercing pics! I wish I could say that Animal Kingdom was enjoyable for us, but the heat was outrageous. I would flip to have a pic with Baloo! How awesome! HS ~ completely reliving vicariously through you. My kids went on Star Tours no less than 15 times in a row. Not exaggerating. I had motion sickness meds in me or it would have been bad! I’m having goosebumps reliving your moments. MK – OMG! What a list of rides! So exciting!

Paula ~ I use Sparkpeople for tracking. Kat pointed me that direction and I like it a lot. Rock on with the loss Paula. You are getting close to another milestone, right?? School is going well. I turn in my term paper for my second class this coming Monday and there is no way that I can get anything less than an A. So that brings me to 12 credit hours at an A. I agree with Lyz on the ‘Thank You’ comment. Feel free to unload on the work crap. Been there, done that.

Lyz ~ So sorry about Molly! We have had a few cases at work. Yay for reacquainting with the TM!

Dawn ~ I hope your niece is ok! Is Silpada still going well?

Amy ~ I’m glad your family is better.

Ronda ~ Rock on with the want to/have to connection

Cathie ~ I hope things work out for the best (no matter what that ‘best’ is). Sweet Tomatoes! I used to drive 2 ½ hours when I was pregnant and craving their food. Yum!

Lisa ~ awesome rant. If I want a bottle of wine, I will make up for it elsewhere. I hate trying to live without something.

Liz ~ I want stock in that baggage service, lol.

Kelly ~ great job on your loss. And way to go on increasing your plan.

Nancy ~ glad to hear you had a day off. Spot on with the cruelest and the closest talk. Sad, but true. Better than sex pie!!! Please fed ex some to me.

Kat ~ I hope you have a great trip!

I think I managed to respond to everything that I wanted!

I’m training my co-supervisor at work beginning Monday. She used to be my favorite rep a few years ago and we get along great. We have a lot of ideas that we are trying to implement. Can’t wait to see how it plays out. I am patiently waiting for my computer to finish loading all the crap that I had to save before it died. Yikes!
