In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Checking in from the house of germs here. Yuck. Disinfecting every surface that I can. Thankfully I am just about 100% and Glenn and Delena are on the mend thanks to tamiflu. I am going to be totally insane and attempt RFTT tomorrow morning. I will walk it and just try to soak up the magic of racing in disney. I will carry a camera and try to take tons of pics.

Hopefully next week I will be able to catch up for real on here.

Have a great time and enjoy it!

We are supposed to get 2-3 " of snow on Monday so I would waddle the World if I had a chance to get out of here!

Hope you are all on the mend!

OK - busy morning...

back from the gym and am off to shower, pack and then head out for the Finger Lakes region of NY for the big party tonight. I'll try to get pictures of the outfit to share.

Amy - glad to hear you are feeling better. Take it easy tomorrow and have fun!

Good morning!

I have my WDW poncho and a hoodie. I'm ready to freeze at Ryan's football game.

Upper 70s/low 80s here. It's supposed to go down to the mid-60s next week. This fall is a little cooler than normal (I remember 85-90 on Halloween once), but overall pretty pleasant.

From now until May or so is when I love living further South. I HATE cold and snow, and fall/winter totally depress me. We still have seasons, though, and the leaves are just starting to change.... but it's nice to have the longer, slower descent into a mild winter, and then the quicker spring.

Someday we may move down by where Amy lives, but I am not sure I can convince my husband to give up what passes for winter here.

Awesome Kelly! LOVE it!

WOOT! :yay: So happy for you Kelly. (hee hee. she's headed for the dark side....)

I am indeed heading for the dark side - me and my friend have just signed up for Aqua Aerobics once a week! :rotfl:

Watching Ghost, crying my eyes out.

I did the exact same thing last week! :rotfl2:

Catching up! More um news today, but rolling with changes.

 Awesome job on tracking your food!

Two parties down. Two to go and all 10 soccer games still ahead. Drinking, but not a lot. Eating...meh. Not great but I passed on all of the desserts. I have no problem treating myself, but these just weren't worth the splurge.

The bolded part is what Im just getting my head round - I used to have dessert just for the sake of it, but im now realizing that some desserts just aren't worth it!

Have a FANTASTIC night! Can't wait for pictures! :cool1:

Im having a nice relaxing night tonight, Ive earned it! Gym last night and I jumped on the cross trainer at home tonight (I finished work too late to get to the Gym!)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend :upsidedow

Kelly - I am really proud of you!

Kat - I have never been so jealous of anyone in my life.
A question for you please
#1 - how much snow do you normally get in the winter/how many days

Carsyn is the one who says she wants a winter - likes snow but hates cold - playing soccer at 28 degrees today sealed that deal!

Thanks!

I would say it snows on average maybe 1-4 days a year. I think we average something like 2" total? In the almost 9 years I have lived here, I can remember maybe 4 times that we have had enough snow on the ground where it actually lays on the road and accumulates. And the place SHUTS DOWN. Snow days as an adult? Totally awesome. :)

When it does snow, it is usually melted within a few days. We do, however, get occasional ice storms that knock out power, and those rather suck.

It definitely changes seasons here. Summer is long and hot and humid, meaning 90-100 w/ 90%+ humidity (which I love), fall is late, spring is early. Winter is Dec-Feb and is usually in the 40s/50s as a high, 30s at night, but you do get both colder and warmer.

I have extremely dry skin (to the point of cracking/bleeding), so I actually much prefer the humidity. Allergies are a bit worse sometimes down here, esp in the spring. The bugs can get big, but it's really not too bad, not like FL. Raleigh-Durham at least is a very green place... lots of lakes, rivers, trees, and they go out of their way to keep everything extremely clean (like the highways and shopping centers and such).

We are probably 2 hours from the beach, 3 hrs from the mtns, 4.5 from DC, 6 from Atlanta, 8.5 from Orlando. Because we are so far inland, hurricanes are usually equivalent to a 2 day-long drenching t-storm.

I picked this place on purpose!! :goodvibes

Hi guys. Reading. Nothing to share. Lazy weekend. 0 parties. 0 soccer games. 0 wogs thru Disney proper. 0 snow. 0 exercising. 0 wine. Oh, the leaves are changing. Blazing orange and gorgous.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend! (Am I too late? Too early? :guilty:)

As we don't have a Thanksgiving over here I thought I would join in anyway - I am thankful for my family and friends, this thread, and chocolate covered peanut butter treats!

Im on my way to my mums now, going to see my lovely niece who I swear changes every time I see her!

Have a great weekend everyone :upsidedow

Quick fly by to wish Amy good race vibes! WOO HOO! Can't wait to hear all about it!

I had to be AT the soccer field at 7am. And it is a half hour drive. OMG, up and out of the house by 6:30 with kids in tow. But I showed up with coffee cake and hot cocoa for all of the parents, so I was able to tame the Kats and Lyzs of the world. :goodvibes :rotfl2::lmao:

3 of 4 parties down. All good so far. And 5 of 10 soccer games. We are 3-2 as a family right now, so just a bit ahead of things. But there are great teams in this tournament, so the level of play is much better than what we are used to. And they are playing SO WELL. I don't even care that we haven't won more since every game has been played so well. One more hour before I head back (had a nice 2-hour break this morning since the first game was so early and the rest are all in the afternoon).

Happy Thanksgiving, Lisa! Um, food report? :lmao: I mean, we get race reports, right? :rotfl2:

Hi ladies!

My life is reminding me of the lyrics from a country song (don't know the artist off hand...) I'm in a hurry to get things done, I rush and rush until life's no fun....

<sigh> I'm struggling to find balance right now. I do see the light at the end of the mega-insanity tunnel, and then it will be back to normal chaos. How refreshing will that be!

Paula - Dad's wine is soooo yummy! Glad to hear that the next batch of hooch is in the works! How was last night?

Liz- yay for the tracking! I'm so far off course right now I need a search and rescue team I'm afraid. More news? Is it "share-able" news?

Dawn - snow already? For real? That's insane.

Amy - glad you're feeling better! Bring on the bling!

EE - freezing at football does NOT equal fun for me. Such a good mom you are

Kat - enjoy your pleasant weather. I think we'll all live viacariously thru you for a little while, k?

Kelly - Aqua Aerobics? That deserves a special kind of goddess crown I think. Going to the gym is one thing, but being seen in a BATHING SUIT? :worship:

Lyz - sometimes "0" excitement is just what the Dr. ordered!

E - good luck with all that *stuff* on your agenda today!

Lisa - Happy Thanksgiving!!! Please do give us a food report. Turkey? Pumpkin pie? Cranberries? Or is those just an American things?
Trying to thing of Canadian things....Canadian Bacon? :confused3

Okey dokey. Rest time over - back at it for me....

Nancy, thanks. Y'all are welcome to visit any time you want!

E, cocoa? That would NOT tame me at 7AM!! Coffee, maybe...

Lisa, Happy Thanksgiving!

Amy, hope the race went well!

Happy Thanksgiving Lisa!

Lyz - I tried on the dress again. It is really loose in the waist & hips.

Nancy - It's Alabama.

Amy - can't wait to hear about the race.

E - that's very early for a soccer game. Yikes!

Kat - I'm with ya. Strong coffee!

Hello to everybody else!!

HI! Another fly by. All 4 parties done. 8 of 10 soccer games done. Added a fifth party tomorrow. And then the last 2 soccer games. Lord, even this vampire is wiped out at this point! :rotfl2:

No rest for the wicked. Just sayin'.

Amiee - totally knew it would be!

Cookout this afternoon. I made a white cake (all white, used egg whites) buttercream icing and a raspberry sauce for the center. It was yummy. Only one piece left, I dumped it. Yay me.

K, Amazing Race to watch.

Kelly - oh how I miss my water aerobics class. It is a great workout if done right. Wear your suit proudly my friend.

Nancy - I'll be sure to save you a bottle of the new batch. Too bad we have to wait until Christmas for it.

Dawn - snow in October is just plain wrong!

Kat - getting a little envious of your winter season.

Erika - glad to hear you survived the weekend. I was a little concerned about that schedule.

Lisa - Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Liz - Hope you had a quiet weekend...

Lyz - I am envious of your weekend right now as I am exhausted.

Amiee god bless you for being such a good mom on a cold Friday night

Amy - How was the race??? Can't wait to hear about it.

Ronda - hope your weekend was a good one.

Cathie - hope you are not hiding somewhere.

Did I catch everyone? I hope so...

The weekend was a good one, but it was a lot of driving. Recap and pictures to follow. Just need to upload them to photobucket.

So to recap, I got an e-mail on Monday asking if I would be interested in attending a gala reception on behalf of my company. After some initial flip flopping, I agree to go and the hunt was on for an appropriate outfit for a black tie optional event (seriously, is it or isn't it black tie, but I digress).

You remember I found a few pieces on sale and borrow the remaining items for the look. Thanks to a pair of pants from my sister and a pair of shoes from my neighbor, I am good to go. After training on Saturday, I come home, shower, pack and hop in the car for the drive to the Finger Lakes area of NY. The drive was uneventful and good for a little mind cleaning type thinking. Get to the hotel, check in and chill for a little while and then it is time to get ready. Hair - check, makeup - check, outfit - check and then oh yeah, the girls want photos so here they are:

The reception was a lot of fun and I met some very interesting people. The outfit was perfectly appropriate given the other attendees (I was nervous I would be underdressed - whew...) Sadly, the only excitement of the evening were these two guys who were chatting with me about their cross country trips. I was invited on the next one, but somehow I doubt their wives would approve. I also don't think my father would approve as they were both older than he is, but they were a rip.

All in all it was a good night. I got back to the hotel around 10:00 and settled in to watch the Food Network special on the 10th year of Alton Brown's "Good Eats" show. Love that show - in his words it is part Julia Child, part Mr. Wizard and part Monty Python. How can you not love that.

Before driving home today, I stopped at the outlet center that is out that way to hit up the Under Armour outlet. Picked up some new tech tees and then wandered over to the Addidas outlet for some new workout pants and then found myself in the Gap outlet where I bought my first pair of Gap jeans - EVER!!!! I am so over the moon excited about buying jeans in a regular store that I can't contain myself. The fact that they were under twenty dollars is not a bad thing either, but I really didn't care what they cost at that point, I was buying them. They need to be shortened, but I will get pics at somepoint.

So that about wraps up the weekend. The drive home was the drive home. No big deal there.
