In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Hi everyone...

So Swim-mom... Hi!!! and Welcome... sounds like you and Erika know each other, but I hope you introduce yourself to the rest of us so we can get to know you too... :)

thanks for the welcome, my life has been quite crazy since January so here is the short of it:

About to turn 35 in Nov, married for 13 years together for 18 years, we have four children 12 (this month), 10, and twins 6. My dh is amazing, and supportes with regardless how crazy it is ------like doing the 1/2 in March

Just completed my Masters in counseling, and looking for a school position.

I am also a cordinator for an AuPair Agency, had a couple as well as exchange students (love the experience as do my children).

I teach at a local community college, here in NJ all you need is your masters -I teach psy, soc, and college skills (entry level-love it).

I was running almost 4 miles a day 3 to 4 days a week, but lost my mojo to complete grad school --- there is only so much a person can do :)

Lastly, all of my children are on a swim team - so we travel to meets and practice daily!!

Sorry to be long winded, but that is the short of it :goodvibes

Wait. Did I read the magic words? New Jersey? The Garden State? Tell me where you are! I live in Monmouth County. (And of course PM if you're not into personal details online for everyone to see - which I am so clearly into!)

I am all the way down in Atlantic County, I did get my masters from Seton Hall Univ -- so I am all over the place :)

As for being Busy, no - just starting to get back into relax mode!! With no grad school, I have free time---which is lovely!!

P.S. Southern NJ girls are nothing like the show, we are kind and not fake (not to mention who has time to look like them 24-7? NOT ME :rotfl2:)

Hi all! I can't believe that I haven't posted all day! How the hell did that happen?

Ok, so my a$$ wasn't nearly as sore as I thought it would be. SCORE.

I was thinking of Lyz earlier since I knew she would get such a kick out of this--
I was at baseball practice with Kel so I had some time to kill. So naturally I planned to run. ;) Got my 3 miles in by going around the block where the field like 6 times.

There are 2 fields there. Kel's practice was on one and there was a game on the other field, where teams from Riley's league were playing. Which means I knew all of the moms who were sitting there in their chairs as I ran in freaking circles for half an hour.

And you know that I HATE running in public. The only thing I held on to was that I was doing something healthy while they were all lined up for the ice cream truck as it came trolling by. Ha!

There were about 10 minutes of practice left before it was over, so what did I do next? OMG, I still can't believe it. I found a spot on the lawn, away from everyone but in plain view since it is a field and all, and did a core workout! :rotfl2: Just got right down in the grass and did 150 crunches, planks, bicycles, etc. I did NOT do any spider-man exercises (spider planks, spider push-ups, etc.) as I still had SOME wits about me.

So true - Southern, Central (me), and Northern are all so different. But the show doesn't offend me. I adore it! They make for good drama.

I have friends who went to Seton Hall, but for undergrad or the law school. Also, we are the same age! I am 35 in Sept!

Did you grow up down there? Do you do races in NJ? Tell us more!

Ronda - if you want a more true to life teen show, then you have to find Degrassi, Next Generation. They do not shy away from topics AT ALL but it's not this glossed over version of kid life.

Does anyone else remember the original Degrassi shows? Lisa V? You know I adore those Ontario accents! :thumbsup2

Oh, count me in. I love Degrassi!

What a fantastic life! Thank you for sharing. Oh, there is no such thing as long winded on this thread.

I just need to go to the gym, get a good workout in and then go home (and try not to eat the contents of the pantry in one day :rotfl:) right?

That's pretty much my goal every day

We won 4-0. Oh, and I got a nice assist.

:woohoo: good job!

Joseph's flax, oat bran, and whole wheat pitas. 60 cals, 4g fiber, 2g fat, and 6g protein. I buy them at the store which shall not be named (which, is also my fav store ;) ).

They aren't really happy. That part was just in my mind.

Know what? I've had those before. Forgot about them, and they fell off my radar screen. I'll have to look for them again. Thanks for the reminder!

it is way too quiet around here....

hope you are all out doing something fun!

Well, not *fun* so much. We were baling hay. Then a quick dinner and off to Seth's Senior Scholarship and Awards night at the H.S. Pretty long. Over 2 hours. But wonderful. I cried of course. I have that "leaky gene" :rolleyes1

Sorry to be long winded, but that is the short of it :goodvibes

Long winded? Not at all! Nice to meet you!:flower3:

And a megaphone, lol. :rotfl2:

Oh God no. Not a megaphone

Ok, so my a$$ wasn't nearly as sore as I thought it would be. SCORE.

Delayed onset. ;) Just wait. You're not out of the woods yet! Nice job on the run & core today. :worship: Nothing quite as satisfying as getting fit while those around you are getting, well... not getting fit :rolleyes1

another beastly day tomorrow. Bike early, 10:00 meeting with our financial advisor, Costco run (I hate to admit to you all, but I ordered a cake. ME. Don't tell anyone, k? ), vet coming for goat check-ups, 4H meeting....I'll pop in and out though

OMG, Amiee! Less than 2 weeks! YES! You ARE taking a laptop, right? And you WILL be doing a live trip report???

Yes, I am taking my laptop. We have free in-room internet, lol. Absolutely a live trip report. And don't tell my ex, but I'm buying a new camera just for the trip.

A little bit of a downer though. Mom might not be going now. She is retired and is starting a side job tomorrow. Sigh! She needs the money since her retirement funds took a nose dive, but it's bad timing. Whatever happens, happens though.

And, best of all! It's official, my boss is letting me work a 1/2 day next Friday! Yippie!! I expect to be in Orlando by Saturday morning.

Phew. Good thing about the live TR. Otherwise you'd have to deal with Lyz. :scared1: She's fierce, I tell ya!

I thought you would!

Don't encourage her... I beg you... :rotfl2:

I am still trying to live down the fact that I was off the grid while I was in Disney. If it wasn't for the fact that Liz, Kat and Erika were there and posting I may have been excommunicated...

Swim-mom - thanks for sharing. You can never be too long winded with this bunch. So, did I catch that right? You will be doing the Princess 1/2 in March? There are a bunch of us planning on doing that as well.

Nancy - waterworks are totally allowed during Seth's senior activities. Bring on the tissues. Good luck tomorrow with that day.

Kat - awesome news on the hockey game and congrats on the assist!

Liz - I drive through NJ to get to my company's offices - does that make me one of the cool kids?

Lyz - I am loving the new Real Housewives... great drama...

Amiee - can't believe your trip is so close. Can I come? Sorry about your mom. Hopefully, she can make it.

Amy - hope your trip is going well.

Ronda - how is your golf game doing?

LisaV - hope you and Jean are doing well. Can't wait for the details on the trip, but take care of you first - kay?

LisaPR - so nice to hear that you are running again. yeah!!!

Kelly - how is life on your side of the pond?

Sunny, Stacey, Steph, Dawn, Roddy and everyone else - how are you doing?

Ok - not much to report here. Lost .7 pounds this week. I am happy with that, but really need to get my sweet tooth under control. Random cookies are finding their way into my mouth. I am actually going and buying these insidious things so something is up. No more cookies for me. I am done with that.

Tonight's workout was good. No issues so no drama. Just a good bummocks kicking. Love that.

Gotta go make lunch and then get some sleep.

catch you all on the flip side

Buy your tickets Paula! We'll pick you up at the airport, lol. If mom isn't able to join us, that gives me a bigger excuse to book the 2nd podcast cruise. :rolleyes1
