In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Up and at 'em! Let's go, let's go! There are miles to run, wheels to spin, weights to lift, and water to drink! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Phew. Ok, I'm exhausted. :rotfl2:

GOOD MORNING! :yay:

:lmao:

Logged 12 miles on the spinning bike at the gym since I didn't get home in time to bike on the trails. All I can say is I really need to wear my bike shorts to the gym if I am

:woohoo: Nice job Paula!

And swim-mom - yes, please do introduce yourself to the rest of us! :goodvibes

Hi to all - Steph? Dawn? Roddy? Sunny? Where are you guys? :confused3

Feelin' a bit better today. Have that "zen" thing goin' on. Controlling what I can, letting the rest roll (as much as possible. again. it's not even 8:00). Busy day - but I'll get my goals to you by noon-time Erika :thumbsup2

Im here...sneaky posting whilst im at work! :rolleyes1
The sun is shining, its a glorious day - and im stuck indoors!

Egads. I just envisioned you with my whistle :rotfl:

I know... you all laughed when I said my nightmare was to have Erika show up at my front door demanding that I run to Maine with her... :rotfl2:

I am tired this morning. Not sure why since I got plenty of sleep. I am also pounding back water so maybe I am a little dehydrated. Eh - either way, its morning, I'm at work and this is how I feel right now... :surfweb:

I am weighing in at JC tonight so that should be fun and then dinner with the family followed by training w/ the dude who is torturing me by insisting that I use the darn spin bike. Now, I just need to get through this work stuff and life will be good.

OK - everyone... where are you? We miss you and want to hear the good, the bad and the just plain ugly that is going on in your lives so come out, come out wherever you are....

yes that means you!

I'm here lurking at work too. Shhhh, don't tell. :goodvibes

I got in my 5K yesterday which seems to have turned into my Monday run. I am maintaining under 30 minute finish times consistently with no pressure so now I am thinking about doing the Sea Dog 5K on Father's Day in Portland. You know, so I can see how I do under pressure. :scared: Other than that, I am just plugging along with my running. Tonight is a gym night so I will do the elliptical for 4 miles.

The challenge is surely going to help me get back on track. With applying for the new position, taking on extra that work hands out because of applying for the new position and summer looming in the not so distant future, I am up to my knees right now. I need a kick in the pants!! :rolleyes1

I am glad to hear that everyone is doing great and feeling feisty today! Paula, even I would not run to Maine from where you are. I would not run to Maine from where Nancy is either...or Steph or um, even Erika's to my house...or even Erika's camp to my house. I might bike that one though...:upsidedow

LisaPR, but would you run to Maine from where *I* live? or Amy?

I am here, slowly waking up. Coffee is the blood of life. :surfweb:

Today is the first day of the real recommitting. All bad food is out of the house, good food has replaced it, and I am heading to kickboxing for lunch. Have salad greens and happy wheat pitas and lowfat ham for lunch, and healthy dinner fixings are already thawing.

Let's see Kat...first up WHY would I run from sunshine and wonderful days??? And second, if I were running from Amy's I would HAVE to run to WDW wouldn't I...:confused3 :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I can, however, think of some places I would run AWAY from...like my house right now...:rolleyes1

LisaPR - that's Sea Dog the beer, right? I found their blueberry wheat beer several years ago in Bar Harbor and hunted high and low for it in the midwest. Found it for a while at Trader Joe's, but they switched to Kennebunk blueberry - not nearly as good. Ahhh, beer...

I am mentoring a horse crazy 12 yo girl. We get together once a week for an hour or two. I'd like to find some DVDs to watch together. I found a TV series called Saddle Club, but it appears everyone in the show is very wealthy. I'd like something more reality based. Any topics really. What are the kids watching these days?

Yes, we were in FL for the RAIN. Mirimar Beach kept getting soaked by a narrow band of rain that weekend. I looked at the radar and realized it's just raining right here. We drove west to Pensacola to find sun for a day.

Ronda

Ronda, we have the AAA affiliate of the Red Sox in Portland called the Sea Dogs which is the race. Sea Dog blueberry ale is a fan fave in my house. Instead of a black and tan, we do black and blues with Guiness and blueberry ale. Yummy. Is it beer o'clock yet. Oh wait, I have to exercise first right...:lmao::lmao:

I had a horse crazy kid once, but that has passed. I had to put my last Arabian queen down about 3 years ago and have been in mourning ever since. I would love another horse but we just don't have the time to spend with it. Ah, horsey smell, it is so therapeutic to the soul. :sad1:

All the girls on the Saddle Club are not rich. Or at least when we watched there were either one or two girls who worked to train at the stable on that show. Shelby was never that into it but we did watch sometimes when there was nothing else decent to watch in our down time/nappy times when she was younger.

Ronda - if you want a more true to life teen show, then you have to find Degrassi, Next Generation. They do not shy away from topics AT ALL but it's not this glossed over version of kid life.

Does anyone else remember the original Degrassi shows? Lisa V? You know I adore those Ontario accents! :thumbsup2

I know... you all laughed when I said my nightmare was to have Erika show up at my front door demanding that I run to Maine with her... :rotfl2:

Imagine Erika. Knocking on your door. All perky and ready to run :scared1:

followed by training w/ the dude who is torturing me by insisting that I use the darn spin bike.

Oh - has *he* become the Wal-**** of trainers?

Awesome Lisa! That's a great pace.

I would run from where you are to where Lisa is....IF....I were on a TM on an airplane ;)

What's a happy wheat pita? And how was hockey? (that was last night right? )

My daughter is 13, and definitely NOT horse crazy. She loves Gilmore Girls (all 7 seasons on DVD. :lovestruc) ...Kyle XY....and Secret Life of an American Teenager - that one is really heavy. I wouldn't recommend it.

Erika - so. How's the back-side feeling today? :confused3

Here's my goals, as promised.

1) keep my head above water
2) DRINK my water - min 64oz per day (although truth be told, Erin wants me to work up to a gallon for the summer months :scared1:
3) alcohol - occasionally and in moderation.
4) exercise - a min of 5x per week
5) food - don't let it "own" me

I think they are reasonable and attainable for me. They are modest - but last thing I need right now is to set goals that are going to add even more stress to my life.

Nancy - loving your goals... just loving them!

To answer your question, no Jesse hasn't treaded off to the he who must not be named category just yet, but he definitly has taken a step or two in that direction this past week.

Nothing major is going on, he has just been a little unfocused during my workouts. I'm not sure if it is him just being bored with me (which after five months is to be expected - maybe, but that is not my problem to deal with) or if he is stressing because his clients are dropping off (summertime, money issues, etc) and his income is starting to take a hit. I feel bad for the guy about the income thing, but it doesn't give him the right to troll for clients during my workout. My dime = my time. It may have been a one time thing, but if he pulls that crap tonight, I am going to have to say something or it will fester into something ugly. This happened once before and once I spoke up with an innocent comment, it stopped so hopefully that will be the case now. We'll see. Either way, I am not letting that derail my exercise goals.

I'm curious, how does Erin recruit her clients?

Anyways - I'm babbling now. I better get back to work.

Ronda - I am of no help when it comes to TV shows for the tween and teen set. I did enjoy Gilmore Girls though. Enjoy the blueberry beer...

I'm not sure! She's pretty busy though. And she tells Jeanine & me that she wishes we would work out in the afternoon sometimes - so that other people could see what we do! She wants us to be a real-life advertisement for her :scared1: (umm...no thanks. Well, maybe if the sessions were FREE!)

Maybe the membership at Planet Fitness is so cheap that people don't mind spending the extra $$$ for some personal training....:confused3... I don't know!

Interesting that she doesn't talk about it at all with you. Maybe that is a lesson that Jesse needs to learn? I mean I don't discuss client recruiting strategies with my dentist or my hair stylist. Very interesting...

I have a feeling that he may have lost a client or two along the way because of simple and fixable customer service issues and not because of his ability to train. eh - who knows... need to stop taking on other people's issues. I just need to go to the gym, get a good workout in and then go home (and try not to eat the contents of the pantry in one day :rotfl:) right?

thanks for the info...

oh and I am glad to know that I am not the only one who doesn't want to be their trainer's poster child.

What's a happy wheat pita? And how was hockey? (that was last night right? )

Hockey was great but tiring, we only had 9 show up. Rink is brand-new, as they re-did the ice, boards, etc. Weird to have a locker room smell like paint and not sweat socks.

We won 4-0. Oh, and I got a nice assist.

Joseph's flax, oat bran, and whole wheat pitas. 60 cals, 4g fiber, 2g fat, and 6g protein. I buy them at the store which shall not be named (which, is also my fav store ;) ).

They aren't really happy. That part was just in my mind.

I can't really weigh on on the the trainer debate as I have never had one. However, I would lean on the side of you are paying him to do a job, so he needs to do it.

it is way too quiet around here....

hope you are all out doing something fun!
