In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Nancy - what a wonderful analogy. Your attitude, your approach, your sense of conviction are ... well, I can't come up with the right word since awesome, amazing, fabulous, etc. just don't seem to do it justice, but you know what I mean.

I sense great things coming from you... great things.

Oh my Nancy - how you make me smile. :lovestruc

I would never get into someone's face when you know how good food makes you feel and you're not eating much of it. I understand that fully. I know how sh!tty one feels when you have too much "garbage" food. Really. Honestly. I'm all for eating some crap but really when the balance goes it feels like crap.

I was so stressed on -hnmmmm- the day before I left. My father's choices have become harder to swallow as time progresses. I have love for him and compassion for him. Am very close to my family. And despite all this - his choices are still difficult emotionally and quite frankly have made life hellish right now. So one day I couldn't eat - could put anything near my mouth. Just couldn't do it. Jean brought in a salad and I think that's all. I am NEVER for not eating. But I tell you I needed some clearing out myself. I brought tins of salmon with me to save $$$$. And Nancy - I was loving it!!!! The feeling of being cleaner. I ate very little junk at WDW. So I know how that feels.

Also, Kelly - water - me too Kelly. Me too. I used to drink like there is no tomorrow and suddenly it has become difficult. For the last two months. I need to get that back too.

So challenge - for me Erika - back to consciously eating. Weight - whatever. But I can't even tell you when I've eaten consciously - good or bad.

I'll probably add to that later. Thanks Erika for doing this.

Ronda - loved the pictures. You guys are busy, eh? And focused.

My parents were in Sandestin two years ago for a month. They loved it.

And me Ronda - nothing like a road trip. Nothing. Adore them.

Nancy, loved the story and analogy. I completely understand about eating crap when life feels out of control.

LisaV, welcome back!!

Paula, you look great! I can SOOO see the difference.

Yesterday was shop for decent food and clean out the garage day. The garage looks fabulous, but in hauling away trash, we put a nice spiderweb crack in the windshield of the FJ. Sigh. Pecked to death by a duck.

I am currently eating strawberries after my healthy wrap and salad lunch. Hockey starts back tonight (we were on a month hiatus while they resurfaced the rink), and I am going to start C25K again tomorrow.

Erika, for the challenge, track 5x, exercise 4x, and 64oz water 5x.

Hi everybody! I've been MIA for a little while, but it seems like the end-of-schoolyear stuff just keeps coming at me. It's been very busy.

Caylin participated in the "Music in the Parks" competition at Hershey Park this weekend -- the chorus and band took first place in every category, which was awesome. I'm so impressed with the music teachers at our middle school, they really go all out to make the kids the best they can be. So, for this trip, she had to be at the school at.......wait for it......4:30 am. On a Saturday!! Now unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, not really sure), she did NOT want her embarassing parents to chaperone, so we ended up having the rest of the day to ourselves. Went out to dinner and everything, before we had to be back at the school to pick her up at 8:00 pm.

Then on Sunday, we had the softball tournament going on -- we had a double header and therefore spent a total of 6 HOURS at the softball field. We didn't get home until 10 at night -- which is insane! And to top it off, our team was ahead by several runs in both games, and then let it all go in the final inning. We ended up with a tie in both games, which was disappointing.
Not that I'm a crazy sports mama or anything, I just think it's a shame we give the game away. They've all really worked hard this season, though, so it's all good in the end.

This week, we have the final school concert of the year, another practice and softball tournament game, the official school trip to visit the high school she'll be attending next year, and the school dance. Oy vey......it's only Monday, and I'm not sure I'll make it through the week.

I'm in if we do another challenge. Please put me down for 2 lbs. I've been sitting at the same weight (+/- 1 lb) for the last 6 weeks. Time to rev up the engine again.

Hope you all have a great week!

Looks like all we needed to get everyone to come out of the woodwork was a good challenge! Who knew? :rotfl2:

Keep thinking of those goals everyone. I will get a rough draft up tonight.

I have lots to say but will save it for later. I have to go to campus shortly. I am teaching one summer school class against my better judgment. This happens to me every summer. I talk myself into it because the money is so good and I think I will be able to manage it and so on. And then I always wish I had said no.

WORD, Nancy.

Just popping in to say that I had a fantastic workout today. So here was I did. I went out for a run, but I just wasn't feeling it. So I ran the first mile, and then at the one mile mark, I lunged for 1/10 of a mile. Then I ran half a mile, lunged 1/10 of a mile and so on until I hit 3 miles. Then I did 100 squats. OMG, my a$$ is going to KILL tomorrow, but it felt SO good doing it.

My butt is sore just thinking about that workout....

Sounds like Erika is starting to get her groove back....

After I posted I hoped I didn't come off as too abrasive. That's not how I meant it. :flower3: Because you really have helped me learn a lot about perspective.

ugh. That sucks. :headache: What's that saying? No good deed goes unpunished? :rotfl:

Back to hockey! :yay: You've had a nice break - it should be good to get back at it! any "big ice" plans in the near future?

Hi everybody! I've been MIA for a little while, but it seems like the end-of-schoolyear stuff just keeps coming at me. It's been very busy.

I can totally relate. Everybody is trying to cram every last little minute full of "can't miss" events, concerts, ceremonies, meetings, etc etc etc. I think I need to CLONE me

Congrats to Cailyn on the music awards. That's awesome!

Looks like all we needed to get everyone to come out of the woodwork was a good challenge! Who knew? :rotfl2:

It's great to see everyone, isn't it :goodvibes And yes Erika, you are going to have one sore bummocks (or is that TWO???:confused3) tomorrow! But it'll be a "good" sore!

I'm enjoying my attitude adjustment. Of course, I'm only part-way thru day 1, so we'll see how I'm doing tomorrow :scared:

I have a tournament in Charlotte, June 26-28. Other than that and my women's summer league, nah. I had wanted to join a co-ed league for the summer but I think that boat has sailed.

This week is dump money into the truck week. The windshield, and it desperately needs new tires. Sigh.

Nancy - you were not abrasive at all!!!!!:lovestruc I just absolutely understood and am feeling it myself.

Hi Lyz!!!

I feel your pain, which is why I decided against teaching at the college this summer. Our summer classes are for 6 weeks and meet 3-4 days a week for 4 hours at a time ---- I just need to relax after a rough couple of weeks.

Just remember this too shall pass, and it will be over..........and then the fall semester starts up:goodvibes

Well look who has been lurking here! You stinker, you should have come out and talked sooner! :rotfl2: Seriously, I hope you stick around! It was fun on the old C25k thread last year.

As for teaching, I really shouldn't complain. I teach 90% online, so I just get pissy when they actually expect me to go up to campus! :lmao: Awesome that they offer you classes with your Master's. We require a Ph.D. and it is making it tough to cover some of the intro classes (I am in charge of our part timers, so I am forever scrambling to fill classes).

Kat--sorry about the windshield! Major suckfest. But yeah for hockey! :cool1:

LisaZ/Nancy--WORD. OMG, it is out of control here with all of the end-of-the-year stuff. We have 2.5 weeks left and just SO much going on in that time. Sheesh.

Hi everyone...

Whew - busy night for me... Logged 12 miles on the spinning bike at the gym since I didn't get home in time to bike on the trails. All I can say is I really need to wear my bike shorts to the gym if I am going to keep using the spinning bike... ow... The workout was a good one though. I focused on maintaining a constant cadence and varied the tension to simulate hills. Tonight as all about race prep so it was good.

So Swim-mom... Hi!!! and Welcome... sounds like you and Erika know each other, but I hope you introduce yourself to the rest of us so we can get to know you too... :)

Paula! 12 miles is AWESOME! And yes on the shorts for the spin bike. Ye-ow!

Hey everybody!

Haven't read yet, but will before I go to bed. Multi-tasking right now ~ dinner alone (since the kids eat at a normal time), checking emails, and on the phone.

Be back soon, I hope.
